Note: I put landscaping in the categories, because A Full Deck does that, but they also do fences and wood refinishing and wood floor refinish/replacement. They may even do other things I don’t know about! I had a fence that was probably the shame of the neighborhood, and I did a lot of looking for contractors to replace it. I got several quotes, ranging from a low of $ 3000 to a high of $ 7500, and was sure that the difference in the quotes had a lot to do with quality. Ultimately I chose to work with A Full Deck, whose quote came in the middle. As a matter of fact, I got a fence with a better finished look, 4 wood columns and a wood glider refinished and a panel of lattice replaced and refinished. All for less than the highest bid for the fence only. So I know cost isn’t the only thing to consider, or I would have gone with el cheapo. If I’m going to spend money, I want to spend it well. They did the work in about 2 ½ days, and the quality is exceptional. Denise, the owner was very communicative about the timing and scheduling(we postponed the start date at one point to both fit into my schedule and to secure her #1 installer. Soooo worth the wait! The workers worked very quickly, and I could tell they knew what they were doing. Posts were placed at a closer interval than my last fence, thus insuring it won’t sag in the coming years. The finish on the wood is beautiful. Denise suggested a base board to run the perimeter of the fence. Since 80% of my existing vertical boards were rotten at the bottom, I could see the value in this… if there is rot at the ground level, I can replace one horizontal board, not 20 vertical ones. While the entire crew spoke spanish, some with very little english, the head guy did speak english. My spanish is pathetic at best, so with Sergio’s help there was no difficulty communicating with the crew. They were great to work with and did such a quality job that I’m putting them on my radar for other projects.
