Wow! What can I say! I want to give a big shout out to these folks here who took care of us! I want to thank the manager that took my call last minute when we had a bus full of kids getting ready to come in! Super nice and amazing service. With not a lot of time, the management and staff quickly dropped chicken for us and it was HOT like FIRE. With so many orders, there one not one mistake made. The front and the back of the house worked and communicated very well to get our food out fast! So glad that last minute Chicken Express was able to accommodate! Thank you to the cashier who stayed late past his shift to wait on us! Very grateful!

I was so excited to have a Chicken Express in Irving, but slightly disappointed in this location. When you’re use to the service/food at other locations and then this one is just so-so, it’s hard to give a higher ranking when you’re not getting the same dining experience. As crazy as this might sound in the heat of Texas summer … I think temperature is alway too cold. Chicken is good, fried catfish(11 mins to cook) was a little salty. Note: If you get chicken straight of the grease, be prepared to wait a little on the cool down or you will burn your month. My experience was just okay!

I love me some Chicken Express. The breading on their chicken is crispy and PERFECT. This particular location is also awesome because the staff has always been friendly and helpful. I’ve had a couple mishaps with orders that were annoying when they happened, but upon my return and informing them about it, they went above and beyond to take care of me in the moment. I always get the #1 as a meal instead of a combo, so that I can have 2 sides and no drink instead of just one side. 4 tenders, fried okra, corn nuggets(oh, the corn nuggets!) and a biscuit – dip all that ish in cream gravy and find yourself in fried food nirvana.

Went through drive thru 9÷9÷2015 and left and opened my #2 And my fries had been missing. Had 2 drive all the way back 2 go get them. After I ate my food, found a mustache, eyebrow, or hairy arm hair at the bottom of my box(can u say eeewww)!!! This is my 2nd time I find a hair at this location. First time, I let it slide. And this time I didnt. called 2 ask 4 Jimmy(Manager) and he was gone 4 the day. So, Erica next in charge told me that she was sorry… Sorry, sorry isnt gonna make up 4 me not ever coming back 2 this location ever again. She didnt even offer 2 makeup 4 it… not that I wanna eat here again… But, maybe at another location. I will go 2 Williams or Raising Canes next time I want Chicken again. How about a reimbursement? N e ways I posted pix of what made me want to puke. I hate when u eat somethibg so good n tasty only 2 find some bodily hair on or in ur food, or in ur box is discovered after u ate all u food. Its disgusting n gross!

The food here is amazing!!! But the food isn’t what makes this chicken express stand out, it’s staff is AMAZING!!! The staff is always smiling and willing to help when I go into this establishment. I highly recommend this chicken express over any of the others!!!

Chicken Express is a fast food chain that specializes in fried chicken goodness, including some of the finest chicken tenders in the south. Throw in some excellent sides like corn fritters & fried okra and you get a complete any growing kid can enjoy. My Overall Rating — 4 Stars(Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere — This is a brand new Chicken Express in Irving, so it has the advantage of being new and clean. You’ll find booths lining the walls, table in the middle, some sports memorabilia on the walls, and four huge flat screens in the corner! Throw in the smell of chicken fry and a line that gets super long during lunch and you have yourself a fast food haven. Really though, it does get super busy and full at lunch, they should have made it bigger. ½ Star. Service — There are two registers for taking orders, and the staff does what it can. But once the order is up, the staff is the back is awesome at bringing out the food by calling your order number. They’re super-fast & efficient and really help offset the wait. Also, do everyone a favor and clean your table for the next person waiting, it helps move things along. 1 Star. Food — While Chicken Express serves fried chicken, I come here for their chicken tenders, corn fritters, & hot rolls. The tenders are as crispy as they are flaky, and piping hot when you get them. I like to dunk them in gravy to cool them off a bit. But the real stars for me are the corn fritters. These little bite size fried nuggets of whole corn kernels will unleash a wave of corn sweetness that is made to go with those juicy tenders. Finally, don’t forget to ask for honey for those hot rolls. They’ll be super tasty! 1 ½ Stars. Will I Return? — Yes. I live in Irving and while it’s not the closest Chicken Express to me(Coppell), I don’t mind driving a few miles further to keep my tax dollars in Irving. Look, it’s fast food but they don’t try to pretend they’re healthy or good for you. But they do taste good. 1 Star. My Unilocal Rating Scale(Sum of all parts): 1 Star — Atmosphere — Is it a cool dive? Perhaps an upscale place? No matter the type, atmosphere plays a big part and I’ll give a star if I like it or thinks it has great charm. 1 Star — Service — You can have a great meal with bad service. But that’s also what can make a five star joint drop to four. It’s important to the dining experience that service is great and on point. 2 Stars — Food — I’ll award up to two stars for the food, since this is the main reason we dine out. Sometimes the extra star is given for value, but it’s really all about the food. 1 Star — Will I come back? — If I know for a fact I’ll return, I’ll give this a star. A place has to make an impression for me to return. Each Category can be given up to 1 star except food(2 stars) because I consider all these categories important to the overall dining experience. I will sum them up to provide my final Unilocal score.

I was so excited when this Irving loaction opened. The staff is very nice! If you love sweet tea, you should definitely give it a try here! I actually went through the drive through today to pick up a sweet tea and with it being 35 degrees I was surprised to see a staff member come out to delivery my sweet tea. I told her she didn’t have to do that and she just smiled and said there was no need for me to wait(there was 2 cars in front of me)! Now if that’s not customer service, I don’t know what is!

I’ve never tried a Chicken Express before but they built this one just down the street from our house so I figured I might as well try it out. It’s not bad for a fast food chicken joint. I’d rate it as good or better than Church’s, Raising Cane’s, William’s, or Popeye’s. Susan said she liked the Chicken Express chicken strips better than Chick-fil-a but they’re so different in texture and flavor, I’m not sure on that score. And I’d still vote for Henderson Chickenz on Beltline as the best fried chicken in Irving. But on those rare occasions when I feel the need for some fried chicken or if I need to pick up something late at night when everything else is closed, I’d definitely stop by again. We also tried the fried okra and the french fries and found both acceptable.
