CUSTOMER SERVICE — I’ve been with Culligan since I moved to the area 8 years ago. The customer service in Irving leaves a lot to be desired. If something happens, do not plan on any repairs for 2 – 3 weeks (not exaggerating). I’ve had several issues that were not serviced for 2 weeks. Most recently, I had a leak and they were out that evening. However, that was because it was considered an «emergency.» I needed a replacement part and they were trying to schedule me almost 4 weeks later. UNBELIEVABLE! I told them I pay for the «Privilege Program,» but the best they did was 18 days from initial issue because I 25 days later was unacceptable! This area is huge and they clearly don’t staff for it. I will say this, Keith is the best thing they have going for them. Other than that, I’d avoid using Culligan in this area!

Signed up for water services for the business. Turns out you can have the same service but get a better deal with Ozarka. Didn’t get to review the contract because the guy was waiting impatiently for a signature. Even if you cancel the contract within the 3 days they give you, they still want to charge a fee of $ 250. I somehow manage to get them to lower it to $ 50 but it was $ 50 that I had to pay out of my own pocket (not my company). They keep saying they’re a family business but weren’t accommodating or friendly during the process. All time, worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. Better off just going with ANY other water company.

We had Culligan 10 years ago in San Antonio and had not softened our water since. We moved in our current house at the end of 2008 and since our hard water has ruined the racks in our dishwasher, scaled all our faucets, faded out clothes and we have spent many dollars in various chemicals to counteract the effects of the hard water. We bought a new water softener from Scott and love the effects it has on our home world. To quote my wife; «we will never not have softened water at our home again.» Yes there is a cost; but aren’t you going to spend that on chemicals, appliances, and new clothes?

I had a whole house water filtration system put in by Culligan about 18 months ago — it is one of my most favorite purchases I have ever made. I love my water and the customer service has been amazing — the installers where very professional and explained every thing to me and when they come to service my system they are very friendly and helpful. My daughter bought a system as well and she is just as pleased with hers.

They are very consistent for your delivery date, when they say 5hey will be there, they will. I wish they would give more stuff away like buttons, hates, free water, t shirts, pop rifle sticks, coffee. I have been a water customer for a long time and I think I deserve something free. They need to get coffee service fast.

We built a new home in Fort Worth and, as part of the deal, our plumbing was stubbed out for a reverse osmosis water purification system. We had an RO system in our last house and knew we wanted one again. While at our previous home, we’d had a water purification system salesperson come out and speak with us about their whole-​house water softening system. I cannot recall if that was a Culligan presentation or not, but we were impressed.
Regardless, we had Culligan come out to our new house to present their under-​sink RO system as well as the whole house water softener /​filtration system. The sales pitch was very much like the ones we’d seen previously, stating that the removal of impurities in our water would a) prevent build up of deposits on our hot water pipes, b) prevent clogging of our faucets and shower heads by those same deposits, c) keep our glass shower enclosures looking new, by eliminating the impurities which make the glass look fogged, d) make our soap products last much longer because we’d be able to use much less with soft water, e) help with our dry skin issues, which are a direct result of impurities and chlorine in our water, and finally f) make our clothes last longer because impurities in the water act like sand, grinding our clothes up, as evidenced by all the lint in our dryer’s lint trap.
We decided to take the (moderately expensive plunge) and signed up to get both systems. The installation was done in a day and all seemed well… at first. The water definitely felt different on our skin. Instead of the «squeaky clean» feeling, after showering, our skin felt like it had been moisturized.
As time went on, things started going downhill.
First, we were given zero operational training of the water softening system and were lead to believe the only thing the homeowner had to do was add salt to the reservoir, when levels got below a certain point. One day, when I opened the salt reservoir, it had standing water in it. Concerned, I called Culligan’s support line and was told they could have someone at our house in «a couple weeks.» I was concerned that whatever was going on, could be doing damage to the system, so I asked if there was anything we could do to expedite our service visit. I was told they could schedule an «emergency service» at a cost of $ 200. We were still in the first year of ownership and had a warranty, but that’s the best they could do. I asked if I could speak to a technician over the phone to make sure the situation wasn’t causing major damage, not knowing if I could wait two weeks. I was told they could have a technician call me for $ 200!
Yeah, great customer service, as promised **if you’re skimming this review, this is sarcasm**
I complained enough that they finally put someone on the line who listened to what was happening and told me it wouldn’t cause further damage to wait the two weeks, so that’s what we did.
When the service guy came out, he opened up the control unit’s housing and said we must have experienced a power outage just as the system was recharging. Once that had occurred, he said the system just never came back to life. He corrected the error and said everything should be working fine now.
About a year later, our dryer still traps lots of lint, we all still have dry skin, none of us are noticing that we can reduce the amount of soap we use to bathe or wash clothes, our shower enclosures all look foggy, and the shower heads have clogged and been cleaned twice. Now, our refrigerator’s ice maker stops producing ice about two months after we change the refrigerator’s filter (it’s supposed to last 6 months, not 2), and finally, when we pour a glass of water, there are visible things swirling around in the glass! I can only imagine what the insides of our hot water pipes look like…
We paid over $ 5K for the system and are about to make the final payment years ahead of schedule. We are considering removing the system and chalk up the cost to a «learning experience.»
My advice: DO NOT BUY A WATER SOFTENING SYSTEM FROM CULLIGAN. The sales presentation is convincing and the sales staff is nice enough, but once the company has their cash, you’re ignored.

Horrible customer service. Our water filter stopped working and they can only schedule us in 2 weeks later! Why are we paying for this horrible service?! They always say they will put us on the emergency list but even so, we still don’t get a guy to come out earlier!

Scott Goodwin was our Culligan Salesman and we were very pleased with his «no pressure», honest sales pitch. He tested our water and showed us the benefits of the whole house water filter. We originally only intended to purchase the water filtering system for drinking water, but after Scott’s presentation, we decided to purchase the whole house filtering system. The install went very well, with no problems. The whole house system was a little pricey, but we are happy with the water quality. Thanks Scott!

Bought a water softener from them, of course they were going to give us the best of service… Well it didn’t happen hardly ever deliver salt, screwed up billing. Constantly calling them with complaints finally we just had the softener completely disconnected. We no longer could believe all of their excuses.

Not all Culligan’s are created equal.
We moved from CA last summer and had terrific service and install there. Here in DFW GOOD LUCK getting someone on the phone who knows what’s going on. I’ve spent more time on the phone with these people then all of our utility services combined. It’s a poorly organized operation. From install to billing. We use this both for our office and home and the water quality is superior (5 stars here), but the customer service is pitiful.

We have had Culligan for years and we moved to the area we decided to stay with them. They came and tested the water and did a great job on installation. They told us that they were going to be coming out to re-​test the water and to check the installation but has not done either one and it has been 4 months. We also signed up to have them deliver salt and check the system every three months. We have yet to see or hear from them. I had to go and buy some salt and put it in myself just to keep it from running out. So in short, Great product but not so great customer service and follow up.

Paul was a great salesperson. However, we have had Culligan in Kansas for many years so when we got to Texas, we had to say «Hey, Culligan man!» The guys who installed the system were good, too. Thanks a Bunch!
