It is a quaint little place on North MacArthur and a stone’s throw away from my place. We tried the Hunan chicken, had asked them to add more gravy and they did — it was pretty good, especially the sauce. The prawns dumpling could have been a little more flavor — they were nice, soft, freshly prepared but the filling had no taste in particular. I recommend the Mongolian chicken — it was well fried and yet not chewy. Food is pricier than other asian places nearby but the quantity is good and we were more than satisfied. The interior is quite serene and the lady who manages the place is very friendly. Service is quick and pretty good. Yet to try more dishes, this definitely adds to my Go-to list.

Nice unpretentious place with friendly staff. This seems like the kind of Cantonese restaurant they have in San Francisco or New York. Will make a point to go back for dinner.

Worst egg rolls I’ve ever had should have gone with pizza. No meat in it to be in called they said there’s ground chicken in it! Combination fried rice no taste I really wasted my time! Food was cold! If possible zero stars I will not try it ever again.

If you don’t like very seasoned or salty food, this is the place for you. It was perfect for me because my stomach wasn’t feeling too well that day, but normally I like more flavor in my food; like the egg roll was almost too lean(not oily as other places) I had to add sriracha and salt. The noodles were perfect, though. I did like the fact that they only cook with chicken breast, I’m very picky with that. And the food was freshly made. Service was great, they keep refilling your drink and it is a family owned restaurant. On the downside, it was pricier than your regular Chinese take out food, I guess that’s why it was almost empty; if you want to eat at a nice and quiet place this is where to go.

I ordered from this place three times now over a period of three or four years and I don’t know why I keep calling them whenever red pepper is closed. Every time I am disappointed by the quality and taste. So this review is not so much to tell other people how bad this place is as to remind myself not to order from this place again! Next time just get pizza! ** just FYI I did not give this place one star it made me do that to finish this review this place is garbage they couldn’t even make orange chicken! ORANGECHICKEN! How freakin hard could that be? Bread it fry it put dam sweet and sour sauce on it !! Garbage!

Please clean the walls by the tables. They are filthy and the last time I ate there, a roach leg was stuck there where someone had obviously killed it. So many things wrong with that statement! This used to be a nice restaurant.

I like this place because of the convenience of their delivery service. I usually order from them when I’m not in the mood to leave the house. Food always comes hot and delicious! And delivery time isn’t too bad…

I’d like to start with something positive about this place, They didn’t overcook the food. The shrimp I got was well cooked, as was my friend’s chicken was as well. The Vegetables all had a good crunch to them. That being said… the flavors, the textures, the presentation of their food was horrible. You can’t bite through the egg rolls without ripping all of the filling out. I sat there chewing the spring roll for several minutes before I could finally finish my bite. Their Pad Thai which is supposed to a spicy dish was syrupy and overly sweet like sweet and condensed milk. My friend who is not a picky eater at all could only stomach two bites before pushing it away and nursing her drink to get rid of the flavor. I had the Szechuan stir fry, and it was baffling. Every vegetable was julienned, so it all had the same texture and feel. What really sealed my dislike of the dish was this overwhelming taste of spicy celery. I love spice, I love really spicy food, and this was on the mild side for me, and that’s fine! However, When I get a plate of vegetables, I want to taste them, all of them, not just one of the American veggies in it. Luckily, this dish wasn’t as bad as the Pad Thai, I was able to finish their well cooked shrimp, and just under a third of the dish before I couldn’t bare it any longer. The staff is really quite friendly and they came around checking on the customers, a group of older American people, and engaged them and handled themselves very personably. I absolutely loved seeing that, but the food was so poor it was inexcusable. When our server saw my friend push her dish away and immediately refuse a box, he did not ask if we didn’t like it, or would like something else. He just took the plate and cleared her seat off. Honestly, I should have trusted my gut when we pulled up during peak lunch hours and saw no one else in there except for the kind staff. I will never go again, and I hope you never undergo this trial either.

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant! It’s so cozy and quiet and the food is amazing. As an American who lived in China for 4 years, I can say this food really hits my china cravings. I recommend the Peking duck and the crab ragoons because they’re so freaking good I cannot deal. The waiters are also very kind and relaxed. Overall a lovely comforting atmosphere and delicious food! 非常好,谢谢!!!

So disappointed. My sister and I used to LOVE this place when we last lived in DFW. Overpriced and awful quality. Take out $ 30!!! Got home and quality was horrible. Dry chicken, hardly any broccoli, rice was hard. Only decent thing were the dumplings. Do yourself a favor and drive another ½ mile north and go to Pan Acean. SMH

Eat here at least once a week, and always use delivery. It is not an overstatement to say they are the nicest people with great food. I highly recommend them.

We eat there at least once a week and the food & service is always great. I don’t know why they aren’t more busy than what they are.

Nice place, good food. The reasons why I cant give them a better rating is because of 2 dishes that I ordered in 2 visits which came out different. The first time I ordered the crab it was great, the second time around, it was too greasy for my liking. Same thing happened with a chicken dish I ordered. It was great the first time, the second time it was just not the same. Service was fast and courteous. I would say that its a tad overpriced.

I wanted to like the food because we are still searching for good Chinese in the area, but it was poor. I ordered chicken and broccoli which was oily and tasteless. I did not eat it. My husband had the sesame chicken which was better than mine but had no sauce. We won’t be going back.

Excellent food & service! We’ll be back! The egg drop soup is the best I’ve ever have and their hot tea is perfect. It’s a casual restaurant but still nice.

I hate giving less than three stars to a place with great service, but alas, the Empress forced my hand. Today’s to-go order featured of a cup of hot and sour soup and Pad Thai for me(both my go-to dishes), and a spring roll and garlic chicken for the wife. They were friendly on the phone, even friendlier when I picked it up and had it order ready 10 minutes after I ordered it. As for the food, you could tell right away that they cut some corners. The sauce on my Pad Thai looked just like regular ol’ duck sauce, and the«peanuts» on it were basically peanut-flavored bread crumbs or something. Oddly enough, it had a pretty good flavor, but I was longing for that peanut crunch and better sauce. As for the soup, it was good and included free wonton chips. My wife’s spring roll was fried(to her disappointment, as she’s used to the delicious rice paper-wrapped spring rolls at Lover’s Egg Roll), but she said it was pretty good. As for her entrée, it was also tasty… except the part where they FORGOT the chicken(despite me ordering it and them confirming it on the phone). So! I guess this place is one of the better mediocre Chinese restaurants in Coppell/North Irving. I’d probably give them three stars, but they lose one for forgetting the chicken today.
