La Nueva Puntada

WARNING! Lets start of by saying that this is not a restaurant but a Tortilleria that sales food. When my husband and I arrived we expected there to be seating but basically you walk in to a tortilla factory with no seats. My husband asked her where do we order and where do we sit. She told us that we could order from her and sit outside or take the food to go. So I imagine must people order food to go from them. That was Strike 1. I ordered 3 Steak tacos (Tacos de bistec) and my husband ordered 3 steak and potato sopes (Sopes de bistec con papas). We waited outside at I guess what they consider a patio. It was very dirty and the garbage was overflown and falling out of the bin. The wait was only about 10 minutes. A lady brought us our food in a take out bag which was fine. I also check my food before I go so I opened up my husband’s container and he had 3 sopes de bistec con papas. When I opened mine it was 3 tacos de bictec con papas… Please read above what I ordered. I even double checked with my husband and he said NO you ordered tacos de bistec. Strike 2 I went in and told the cashier that these tacos have papas in them and she said «Yeah, that’s hat you ordered, I said «NO, my husband ordered bistec con papas and I ordered bistec» So here we go with the I don’t speak English crap. She asked her male coworker standing next her to explain to me what ordered (Seriously???) Oh but guess what I SPEAK SPANISH. So I told her again in Spanish «Yo pedi tacos de bistec, no tacos de bistec con papas» («I ordered steak tacos not steak with potato tacos»). At that point she just stood there looking dumbfounded because she did not know I spoke Spanish. After a few minutes of her standing there she said «Well we don’t have have just bistec» I said «Strike 3. Okay that’s fine I don’t want anything» I proceeded to put my container on the counter and asked for my money back. She straight up told me NO. MY husband was still outside and since it was taking so long he decided to come check on me. He’s Mexican and speaks Spanish as well and told her the same thing, that I did not order bistec con papas. The cashier once again argued with us and another coworker intervened and told her to give me my money back. What terrible service! I would NEVER RETURN to this establishment. My husband did taste one of his Sopes and threw them in the garbage, he said they did not taste authentic at all. So would I recommend this place ABSOLUTELY NOT. ZERO STARS.

Great food, great service. Almost homemade tortillas, fresh, great salsa to pick from. Also at times I go for breakfast and just love it. Thank you

Everything looks great and taste great. Buy some extra tortillas for the road they’re made fresh. La Nueva sells tortillas to other restaurants and local stores.
