Murphy’s Deli

Important note: Reviews before 5÷20÷2015 are inaccurate; this place recently changed management and it’s (at least in my opinion) much nicer.
Since the management change, employees seem happier, the deli is livelier and the breakfast items are back to being the correct price (if you had looked at the menus, the prices were crossed out and rewritten by hand).
The new specials are better made than before and leave you happier than before. It’s great to see that the office deli provides more of a pick me up than before.

Against my better judgment I went there for lunch because I didn’t want to leave my office. I decided to order their Friday baked potato special which was listed on their display as follows:
Baked potato with your choice of:
BBQ Beef
Grilled Chicken
Taco Meat
$ 6.99
When I asked the woman helping me what else came on the potato, she indicated sour cream, butter, and cheese. Well… when I got to the register, I handed my card to Su the Manager & told her that I had ordered the baked potato special. She swipes my card & says that will be «$ 8.22». I hesitated for a moment & told her that I ordered the special which was listed as $ 6.99. When I asked why the price was different she told me that the «plain» potato was $ 6.99 & there was an additional charge for the meat and cheese. I stepped back to look at the sign again to make sure that I hadn’t overlooked something & NO WHERE on this sign did it mention an up-​charge for these items. I swear that if she hadn’t already swiped my card I would have left that food on the counter & walked out.
Btw, I this is not the first time that I’ve had to call her out about trying to rip me off. AND she’s HORRIBLE to her employees. She never hesitates to belittle or talk down to them in the presence of customers. I will not continue to support a business that does treats their customers and employees so disrespectfully.
**NOTE TO SU**… Your customers & employees are the reason that you’re able to open the doors to your business every day. You should treat us with a more dignity & respect. This is the last time that I’ll ever buy anything from Murphy’s Deli. I HATE MURPHY’S DELI!!!

The woman overcharged me again and refused to refund my money. She offered me a credit for the money owed, I was hesitant but accepted. I went back again today and ordered the same thing only to find that she attempted to overcharge me. I told her to keep the burritos and let her know I wasn’t returning. I’ve since spoken with the building management. They’re concerned and will be investigating the ethics of the manager. If you ever order anything from here make sure that you have your phone or a calculator ready to add up the total yourself because she will try to scam you.
