New Horizons Computer Learning Center

Awful. I signed up for a Microsoft 2010 VBA Programming class in November for the February session (they don’t offer those classes often). When I was there in person this morning (early, I might add), they told me that I was the only one who had signed up for the class, so they cancelled it. They didn’t even have the courtesy to send me an email letting me know.
I’ve been there before for other classes, and they’ve always been extremely disorganized. They also were supposed to come to my company to teach a class that I was in, and the instructor no-​showed, so we had a room of 20 people with no instructor.
Go elsewhere.

Looking to brush up on my spreadsheet, graphics, and formula skills in Excel for work, I took and advanced Excel course at New Horizons in Irving. They call this location the «Dallas» location however it’s in North Irving. The registration process was super easy and I received a call the same day to confirm my course. All the information such as directions, details, and policy information was emailed in advance.
They sent me a link to Bing maps (I hate Bing maps) for directions to the location. I plugged the address into my car’s navigation to find my way. While it could have been my car’s navigation that placed the address erroneously a few hundred feet further than was correct, the directions provided by New Horizon did not detail the location or what building to look for. There’s not big sign out front and if you miss the turn, you have a long way to go back around up the service road of 114. Other than that one hiccup, my day at New Horizons was a breeze.
My instructor was Prof. Hughes who knew Excel inside and out. He was very knowledgeable and patient. There were some portions of the course that I already knew but if you had questions, he didn’t hesitate to pause and help out. Most everyone in the class was at a comparable skill level. The pace of the class was just right and I walked away feeling like a gained a fair amount of knowledge.
Whether you are looking to gain a few new skills for work or advance your career or education, New Horizons is a great, reasonably priced choice. I’d definitely return for further courses and would certainly recommend them to a colleague.

Really good instruction and learning center. I am doing the Graphics Package that they offer and brushing up on my Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator skills and learning Flash, Javascript, HTML, XHTML and CSS. But they offer all kinds of various courses in Microsoft and other products too. I have enjoyed all the classes so far and am acquiring the skills I desired. I definitely recommend purchasing an entire package of some sort if you plan to take multiple classes. The packages are very economical considering the amount of instruction you receive and the options for re-​takes and online learning. Single classes are a little pricey, but still better priced here than any place else I have seen. The instructors are all very knowledgeable and nice as well. Definitely recommend New Horizons! They have a Fort Worth location too off of Hulen and I-​20.
