I have been coming here for about a year. And pretty much order the same thing. Even though the staff say hello, no one bothers to even make small talk or ask how my day was. they don’t even know my name. or even acknowledge that I do come there a lot. which doesn’t bother me really. but what happened last week did bother me. I came in around 11:30 in the afternoon. ordered my usual plain omelette with turkey. sat down. and it took 43 minutes(I was keeping time) for my order to come out. while I was waiting for my order, a total of 9 people came in after me, and their orders came out. when my order finally arrived, no apologies and nothing was said about the fact that it took that long… I have never felt so unwanted at an establishment. I guess my business isn’t worth it. thank goodness an original pancake house just opened up in irving. that will be my new go to spot. Done with Outta the Oven for good

Had an awesome eggs florentine and coffee for breakfast. Wonderful service and yummy food! Would totally return. Plus, the interior is adorable, updated and very clean. Coffee could’ve been a bit stronger and they should really invest in an espresso machine. Other than that, 2 thumbs up!

I love this place! Amazing lunch, and their pies and baked goods are as good as it gets!

Love. This place has to-die-for Italian crème cake and a great chill-at atmosphere. Big fan of spending long afternoons there. The waitresses are not the friendliest but again, not relevant to why I go– the cake! Oh and their salads are good too.

I wrote a review here two years ago, and I’ll stand by what I said then: customer service needs work. The same young girl working behind the register can’t be bothered to smile, much less tell you what the specials are — she rudely points to them displayed on the counter. Additionally, the food is overpriced. We’d prefer to go down the street to The Original Pancake House and get a better quality breakfast for the same price. Wish this place were better, but sadly, it’s just not.

My experience was great. Nothing to ding stars for. The cupcake could have been larger but the taste was awesome. Red velvet. The toll house chocolate chip cookie pie was addictive, OMG, nothing missing but a microwave, icecream and a glass of cold milk. The vanilla cake with butter cream frosting was the best I’ve ever had. Seriously. The gingerbread cookie and snicker doodle cookie was good.

This place was a pleasant surprise to us one day when we happened to be looking for any place that was open on a holiday weekend. So far mostly have only had their breakfast fare and have always had consistently good food. My usual is the spinach omelette but the eggs Benedict are also very good. Don’t forget to grab a slice of some of their homemade cakes to go. Strawberry cream cake and Italian cream cake as well as carrot cake and key lime are the ’ real deal’.

It was a saturday when I went here with my mother for some coffee and desserts. We weren’t greeted when we came in and we looked around and did not see anything appetizing. I also did not see any specialized coffees like lattes or cappuccino… Just drip coffee. We kind of just looked around and went to Starbucks next door.

Super sweet. There was not enough selection of drinks. The place was nice and quiet. But I think the interior is a little old fashioned.

Agree with the Unilocaler who said«Nothing to write home about» very basic cookies. I will be back to try the food. It looks pretty fresh. I went in at lunch time and it seemed busy so I’m sure it’s not too bad. I tried the Beverly Hills and Neiman Marcus.

I never write Unilocal reviews, but there was no question about writing this one after my experience. STAYAWAY! For being in the food service industry, I would expect that the staff would be well-versed in customer service fundamentals and their product would be at least average. I ordered a $ 50 cake(half-sheet) for delivery. They were 30 minutes late on delivery and the cake was not what we ordered. The 2-layer cake only had 1 layer and was dry on the outside and under-cooked on the inside, making it pretty close to inedible. I called the manager, Heinz, to ask for a refund and calmly explained my reasons, at which point he began to be very combative. He told me that he spoke with the baker, who confirmed there were 2 layers. I offered to take pictures of the inside of the cake and send them to him, as I’m sure the baker was mistaken. He then told me that I was treating him poorly, despite remaining calm and succinct. Remember, I am the customer here! The cake was delivered to my employer’s office and Heinz told me that he was a customer of my company for a long time and was unhappy about my complaint to him — completely backwards from the point of the call and contrary to the issue. I explained that my order from Outta The Oven had ZERO to do with my place of employment and that I paid him $ 50 for something I didn’t get. After asking for the refund, he told me that it was«too late» because we ate the cake. I have lived in the area for many years and tried this place several times. It was always hit or miss, but I am a support of small local businesses to help sustain our local economy. Unfortunately, this is a business I recommend EVERYONE stay away from. You may think a $ 50 price tag will get you luxury, but I assure you that Sam’s and Kroger will give you better service and better cake.

We were in town for a wedding and on our way to drop off my tux we stopped in for breakfast. One of the young ladies at the register was rude and of the four plates served to us three plates came out with uncooked food. Raw pancakes, uncooked eggs. She also spilled coffee on the floor and didn’t bother to apologize or say excuse me. Needless to say, we had a poor experience. We should have read the Unilocal reviews.

Nothing to write home about. The pies are average, at most. The French toast is dry and basically tasteless. The pancakes are just ok. Won’t go back since the food is bland, yet the place is quite expensive for what it offers.

Had a gluten free sub roll at The Great Outdoors in Carrollton a couple of days ago. It was amazing! It had wonderful flavor. It was fluffy, soft, and retained it’s shape even with all the fillings I added to it. Thank you for having this available for me.

Yummy cupcakes and cookies. I LOVE the cupcake happy hour with $ 1 cupcakes! The Italian Cream, Red Velvet, and Carrot Cake were all delicious flavors. Friendly staff as well. I will definitely have to come back and try their meals.

I’ve been here numerous times and I like it! The cookies are amazing, the salads are great, their sweet tea is my absolute favorite! Sometimes the customer service is a bit off, but for the most part the ladies there are wonderful. The prices are a bit over the top so I only go there when I have a bit to spend. Overall: I’ll be back!

Very nice example of a real bakery with some great menu items in addition to the pies and cakes that are made right here. Well worth a try if you haven’t been yet. You’ll become a regular too.

Outta The Oven is a lot like Social Bakehouse in Arlington(estranged sibling restaurants?), so if you like them, you’ll probably like it here too. This is a good little spot for lunch when my husband and I just want a salad. I’ve grown fond of their pasta salad, and their soups are tasty too. My husband usually gets some sort of green salad and they always look delicious. There are little samples of sweets at the counter where you order so you can whet your appetite while you wait. Weekday parking can be tricky during the lunch hour, but that’s normal for most places along MacArthur. The service and food are generally pretty quick once you get in though. My first visit here was less than optimal, but fortunately I gave them another go, since there were desserts to be sampled. The young girls at the counter insisted on charging me extra for a croissant on a sandwich that is listed as coming on a croissant on the menu and is already a dollar more than most of the other sandwiches. I tried to explain and point out what I was talking about, but they refused to budge, so I begrudgingly went with it. WTH? When my sandwich arrived it was turkey on a croissant, but it was not the turkey brie sandwich I ordered directly from the menu… Hence the misunderstanding about the croissant up-charge? I sent it back and when the two girls huddled in whispers and then looked at the menu board and register, and then at the menu board once more, at which point, their raised eyebrows expressed their enlightenment. Then they glanced at me, whispered a little more, shrugged their shoulders and gave the incorrect sandwich back to the kitchen person. My sandwich eventually emerged and a simple«sorry about that» was said, so I ate my meal. It was tasty, and honestly not that big of a deal, but sometimes my hanger translates into intolerance for incompetence. Service has been much better on my subsequent visits, so I continue to stop here periodically. The baked goods are tasty, but a little overpriced for what they are. That said, it isn’t enough to deter me from getting a cupcake or cookie to go after most of my lunch visits.

Our office usually orders birthday cakes from here, and they’re relatively good, but not«to die for». I decided to come in and try their other pastries. They offer a fair selection of sweet treats and even have a light menu with sandwiches, salads, soups, etc. service was not exceptional, but hey were attentive when required. My husband had the Coconut Macaroon and I had the slice of Pecan pie. Both tasted just as good as a store bought treat. I can’t say anything captured my taste enough to come back, but at least I know there’s a Starbucks next door.

After dropping our guests at the airport my hubby took me to this place for breakfast. Its a nice, bright and cheery place with friendly attentive staff. I love the pastries from here especially the petite fours and cake balls. Tried the chocolate cinnamon coffee for a change, loved it. I think it would taste much more yummy in the cold weather. Got the uptown omelet with rosemary potatoes, came with a small blueberry muffin which I loved, a little dessert among the savory stuff. Hubby got the special of the day — pumpkin french toast. I should definitely mention the maple syrup, not too sweet and not too thick, just the right consistency. The portions are right, quality is good and the price is about right. Overall loved the food and the dining experience.
