I first experienced Pita Pit in Ohio, and then in several other states. I never thought it was anything special to be honest. That being said it’s a good place to break up the monotony of the usual lunch spots in the area. I was annoyed at the fact they didn’t have their«secret sauce» which is really just a spicy balsamic or kalamata olives. Your standard canned black olives do not really interface properly in a wrap or salad. With a Vert’s down the street I would be hard pressed to make the Pita Pit a regular pit stop. I do however like the bread they use, and often times buy similar bread at middle Eastern shops in the area. Areas which could be improved on: –Fry up the falafels in lieu of just reheating them on the flat top –Use traditional kebab meats on a skewer and shave off thin slices –Stray away from canned toppings like pineapple and olives and use their higher quality counter parts –Fry up entire chicken breasts and portion them out into easily identifiable slices –Add fries or house made potato chips as a side Commends: Greens and other vegatables appeared to be fresh Service was slow but they took their time to properly prepare the wraps Good middle Eastern style«pita» bread

I used to eat at Pita Pit in Austin when I was in college, so I was excited to see we were getting one in my neighborhood. It’s a nice change if you want something different for a quick lunch. There is a good variety of options, and the owner is super nice!

Ah man! So sad for the reviews. I like this place! Food is good and very fresh. It’s an awesome option to choose from aside from a boring salad. The chicken souvlaki is my favorite, I have them grill the veggies in with the chicken. Only negative thing I can think of is that service is a little slow but that’s because they are making the food in front of you.

Staff seems to be Struggling to get the Menu down and the communication from the register to the Pita Cook is lacking as you have to tell them your order all over again. Pita is a little thin but seems to be enough if you are not real Hungry.

This was one of my boyfriend’s favorite places to eat in florida and I can see why! I could easily eat here every day and not get bored. They have breakfast all day. They have a diverse menu catering to people who want a lot of meat to vegetarians. This place is fantastic for people who are health minded, watch their calorie intake, but also want REALLYTASTY food. So basically how it works is you can pick and choose all your ingredients/dressings that you want on your pita, like a subway but for pitas. Here are the toppings that I put in mine: As a meat I chose the Chicken Souvlaki(which is the tastiest/most popular) on Wheat bread. Ingredients: Cilantro, Tomato, Pineapple, Onion, Spinach, Sriracha Sauce, Chipotle sauce, Tzatzika sauce, Avocado, and Pepper jack cheese. My boyfriend had the falafel vegetarian pita with hummus and it also tasted really good. It’s hard to get bored from it just because of the diversity. I’d also like to add that Heer, the owner, was just so wonderful to us. She gave me really great advice on what to put in my pita and it tasted fantastic! Highly recommend it in case you’re tired of Subway or any other fast food and you want to try something new.

Pita Pit is usually great. This is probably the worst pita pit I’ve been to. The company should close this location to save face. I don’t know what the training process from corporate involves, but you would think that it would include teaching the employees how to make a pita. They were completely perplexed with my order, a gyro which is likely the most common order at every pita pit. At first I had thought it was maybe their first day on the job, but looking at the reviews, this incompetence has been around for some time.

I loved Pita Pit back in Boston and was happy to see one close to where I work. I had a good experience here. The staff was friendly and they knew what they were doing. I got the chicken souvlaki. The chicken was cooked perfectly. I like that you can add whatever ingredients you want. I read some reviews that complained that the staff didn’t know what to put in the pita, but I like that you can add whatever you want. I’ll definitely be back.

I used to eat at Pita Pit all the time back in college in Gainesville. I was really excited to try the location right in my new neighborhood in Irving. This place doesn’t serve the conventional gyro/pita sandwiches you’re used to, it’s got a little bit of a twist. I always like to order the philly cheesesteak with mushrooms and onions. The staff is friendly and ready to explain the menu if you haven’t been before. I think since it’s newly opened they need to work on the kinks a little with the flavoring of the food and freshness of ingredients. The chopped lettuce was kinda brown and wilted, they probably should have changed it out. The cheese on my philly cheesesteak could have been melted a little bit more. The tzaziki sauce could have used a little more yogurt flavor/cucumber. Secret sauce needed a little more zing. I have faith in you Pita Pit! Step up your game a bit :) I’ll probably give it another try when I’m craving it again.

Had the chicken souvlaki and was not that impressed. Although the ingredients are fresh, the pita needed a lot more flavor. Service was good and fast but unfortunately the food wasn’t satisfying.

It had been a while that I had been to a pita pit. I used to go back in collage because there was one right next to the campus so I was excited when I saw this one. I remember it being a lot better though. I got a breakfast option, which I use to always get before. I seem to remarry them cooking the egg upon ordering, but this time the egg was already prepared and was just warmed :/The guy helping me overcharged me for bacon but he fixed it when I let him know. I should have just went to the taco lace near by. Such is life

Decent prices but very unorganized. Lunch rush. You order and pay… And they have no way of tracking your order. You move down the line and tell them what you ordered. I ordered and paid for a black bean pita large. I then had to tell them. I explained I simply wanted whatever came on it. They have the ingredients on the menu items. The employee then asked if I wanted spinach. I stated clearly I am fine with whatever comes on it. He was confused. When he started reaching for items I knew weren’t on it I got annoyed. Won’t be back. Also no attempt at keeping black bean patty from meat. Same utensils and cooking surface

Dang! These Unilocalers are hard on our new little Pita Pit! Perhaps I’m a touch biased because Pita Pit has been a favorite of mine for over a decade and something I’ve really missed since coming to Texas. This is how California does Pita… It’s not traditional Greek Gyros… Just know that going in. The food is awesome! Grilled and flavorful meats shoved into a light and airy pita topped with fresh veggies, sauces and cheeses… What’s not to love?! I will give the negative reviewers this: this place is currently a s*** show. The staff is poorly trained and they are completely unfamiliar with the standard recipes, forcing customers to take their best stab at the pita’s intended ingredients. They are unorganized, have no system for managing the line and flow of the food. The good news is you can order online and avoid all that frustration. Hopefully the franchise owner will take an active role in getting those kids trained and work on creating a clear process. Failure to correct the chaos quickly will likely result in failure which would be HUGE bummer because the food is soooo good!

I will NEVER come back to this Pita Pit again. Which is sad, because the food is always good. But I have been in three different times, and each time I have watched the pregnant lady berate her employees if they make a mistake. Today, she looked at the lady with a fro and said, «why would you make that when I TOLD you to make a large?» In front of customers that it unprofessional. No wonder they are always short handed and always hiring. It’s disgusting how she treats her employees. I’ll spend my money somewhere they treat the employees with respect. They don’t deserve to be talked down to in front of customers. The whole store had a bad atmosphere anytime that pregnant lady is in there. You can tell the employees feel the same way. Just because they are probably making minimum wage doesn’t mean you have to treat that like garbage. They are human beings.

I only went here because every other place in the area had a very long line. Now I see why there wasn’t a line. The food is mediocre at best and they haven’t figured out how to be efficient in running the place. There were more employees than customers and it still took much longer than it should and I was skipped in line while for my food. It’s pretty chaotic.

I completely agree with the Unilocaler who would have given negative stars, and for many of the same reasons. I’ve been eating gyros for 30 years. They’re basically tacos with pita bread. Lay the pita down, lay down the filling, and fold it up like a taco. Not these guys. So first, they take this microscopically thin pita and steam it. Then they lay it on the counter with no paper under it, and peel it open. Then they say what do you want? So I had ordered a gyro — which should be a standard — but I have to keep saying tomatoes, cucumber, etc. over and over because the guy is suffering some sort of memory failure. And he’s just stuffing the ingredients in by hand, while cross-contaminating all of the buckets of ingredients with what he’s picking up. So he gets to the tzatziki sauce. Look this one up on Google. It’s a standard of Greek cuisine. Yogurt, cucumbers, lemon juice, seasoning. But what he’s got looks like wallpaper paste. And he starts laying huge globs on wallpaper paste on my gyro. The tzatziki sauce Pita Pit is serving is clearly about 99% sour cream, and when the pita(which by now, looks like an overgrown slug) arrives at the table, all I can smell is sour cream. When I looked around for a trash can in which to dispose this mess, there wasn’t one, and no staff in sight to complain to. Probably 5 minutes went by before a staff member appeared that I could ask to discard my slug. In fairness, they did reimburse part of the meal, though that took over 15 minutes to accomplish.(Except they didn’t — when we got our bank statement, they hadn’t refunded any of it.) The lack of paper under the pita, and the ingredient cross-contamination, and the general slug-like appearance of the end product make Pit Pit a place I will never return.

If I could give this place negative stars, I would. I love Pita pit, but this place ruined it for me. The service is horrible and slow. If anyone has 30 mins for lunch, don’t plan on going there because you’ll be waiting forever. I came when no one was there and they still couldn’t get my food done in a decent time. To top it off, after being helped with no one in there initially, they help 3 others that came in after me and still wasn’t done with mine. What’s disgusting is that the people that’s handling the food had hairy armsand it was touching the food while making my pita. That should be consider a health violations. I won’t ever be back.

First visit was a solid 5 stars. I walked in and was immediately greeted by a staff member. She asked if I had ever been there before and when I said no she explained the concept of how to order and what my options were. Then a second employee walked out from the back and was very friendly. There were so many options that sounded good so I went with the chicken that the employee said was her favorite. Oh my gosh– it was delicious. I want to try other things on the menu next time but I will probably order the same thing because it was so good. The concept of the restaurant reminded me of subway but the quality was better and the staff were more polite. They really seemed to enjoy working there. The inside was super clean and modern. I’ll be back!

So today was my first visit here and i was not a happy customer when i walked out. The cashier was nice until she started yelling over the guys shoulder while he was making my order. The set up of the restaurant was nice and the staff was average but when my order was finished being made… i was handed 2 napkins, and a wrapped pita with out a bag to take it in… BTW my order was togo… will not return

They are now open! Staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. Food was good. I had the regular gyro and wife had the small turkey on wheat. You first pick your meat and then it is grilled with the veggies of your choice. Then you pick sauces, cheeses and the other veggies that were not grilled. They also have chips and cookies. They also have one of those fancy soda machines. I would recommend it and will go again.
