Private Workout

I enjoy working out at Private workout!
The results I’ve seen are wonderful. Regardless of the other reviews, I have been going there and never thought any problems persisted. However the Staff — more specifically, Patti the office manager at the Las Colinas location. She is extremely rude, moody and sometimes entirely unprofessional. I’ve heard about her attitude from other friends and always thought to give her benefit of doubt (everyone has a bad day) but in her case. She has a bad day every day! In a place that is geared towards positivity, health and motivation — she is a WRONG fit! I love coming to workout at PW minus having to deal with her behavior.

This is absolutely the worst place to work out. I don’t even know how it is able to stay in business. You are limited of time on every machine you do. The workout plan created for you is absolutely ridiculous. I don’t know how they expect you to do everything in just 25 minutes. Patti is not well kept, extremely rude and doesn’t care about you after your first meeting. Whoever came up with this type of workout concept probably just wanted to create a scam and lure customers in and con them out of their money. Don’t waste your time at this place if you really want to get into shape and have a legit workout. Also, I have read the reviews posted about this facility and the responses back from the company are hilarious. It is just a bunch of statistics that are probably made up that are not true and copied and pasted onto every review. Don’t waste your time and money!

I liked it at first, but over the last 6 months this has become a major regret and a major problem.
The hours are pretty limited, not enough time in the morning to go prior to work, and it’s hit or miss whether I can get out of work and there in time to complete a workout by 8pm. I should have joined somewhere else with long hours or 24hr access.
The staff is often no where to be found.
The music is off or set to a sleepy oldies station.
If you need to cancel or modify your account, the manager sends you to the website, which tells you to call a number, where the recording tells you to go to a different form on the website, and THAT form tells you to submit your checking account and routing account information via a non-​secure website (Note the plain old HTTP:// connection!!!) THAT IS TERRIBLE!!!

As you can see, Fred from Private Workout sent me a nasty letter in addition to the reply he posted to my review.
He informed me that if I did not take down my review then he would take me to court. He stated that my accusations were false.
They are not false, and I will not take down my review. It happened exactly as I stated. Fred’s reply was just another example of the way they treated me during the cancellation process, but worse.
Fred, the only reason that I did not continue my pursuit to file a lawsuit against you, was due to the pettiness and waste of my time. PW already stole valuable time from me trying to contact the proper party to cancel my membership and then more valuable time proving to the bank why the money was taken illegally from my account. The bank had already investigated the false charges and ruled in my favor.
All anyone needs to do is go to

and do a search for private workout. They will find many complaints that are coincidentally very similar to my complaint. There are other websites as well with private workout complaints, but this follow up review has already taken up too much of my time.
Again, as I stated before, you should all stay clear from this company.

I have been going to this place for 3 weeks and they have a lot of music and customer service issues. They have issues with the internet cutting out so they have to keep restarting pandora the problem is that no one is ever there to restart it. The first time I went after my initial visit the prompt on the radio to move to the next room and the music went out, I’m on a right schedule so if I don’t know how long I am in there that is an issue. I yelled from the private room that the music went out and the response I got was «I know» no apologies or I’m working on it just «I know» from the store manager Patti… It bothered me but I did not say anything else. Then another time I made a suggestion about attaching the pencils to the clip boards and she told me that was impossible because the pencil would slide off the string… I wanted to ask if she had heard of tape but I just said, «okay it was just a suggestion»…it was like she was offended that I would say anything. Then I went another time and she had the music so low I could barely hear the prompt to go to the next room and it irritated me but again I did not say anything… this most recent time I went in she was no where to be found and the music was completely off for a good portion of my workout… the day before I had also had an issue finding anyone to give me a new workout sheet to the point that I had to snoop behind the desk!
I finally said something about the music and the only response I got was that she was snacking and she couldn’t control pandora. When I asked for corporates number she refused to give it to me and I had to call a different location and then they had someone call me, they wouldn’t give me a number either.
The guy I talked to defended Patti by saying I’m the only person to ever have an issue and that there are CDs they can play when the internet doesn’t work. He did offer to cancel my contract at no charge, which is disappointing since I liked the workout itself just not how the business is executed.
Basically, if you like doing the same circuit workout everyday, in silence, with people who act like you are a burden every time you are there, and have no accountability or even presence then you should join. Keep in mind when it is in silent you can hear the people around you grunting and it doesn’t seem private at all.
Also, like everyone else said they use high pressure sales and surprisingly no one I have seen up there (including the trainers) are in great shape.

Patti and Patrick are out to get ya. Keep running away from them by learning and executing what they teach and you’ll be in great shape.

This is the most shady business ever! Don’t go visit… they are SALES people (not trainers) who pressure you into signing. Verbal commitments are made with them and not honored and if you need to cancel… forget it. No one will speak with you and they hide behind paper and electronic communication. I enjoyed the gym but had to cancel because I moved and although I was told that would release me from my contract, when it comes down to it, they deny ever saying any of that yet never provide a human being to speak with… RUN RUN FAST

My friend told me how jealous she is that I live in Dallas. When asking why, of course, she told me about the non-​chain gang Private Workout. I had to see what this place was all about.
I walked in and they asked if i was there for groupon. No I wasn’t but they’ll try to sell you on their membership anyway. After an hour of saying I wasn’t interested in becoming a member I just wanted the boot camp they gave me an offer I couldn’t refuse. I joined the DANG membership! Well, to my surprise I have not looked this good since high school. Through hard effort to not be skinny-​fat I’ve toned my body and have absolutely loved the private environment of each station!!! I’ve told everyone I know about this place. I’m trying to get my husband in on this. I love the GO-​GO-​GO ethic of the boot camp feel. YOU CAN DO IT! Even if you think tomorrow, tomorrow… today is your day! It took me a year to get where I am and I’m still not at my goal. The workout is all in your hands.
I’ve seen people come and people go. I don’t know why. This place is just like no other when it comes to being unique and the best! Clean (I promise), customer service is great and great price.

My wife and I bought a LivingSocial for eight weeks of bootcamp and two personal training sessions here. The goal? To get pumped like Arnold. Not really, but we’re five weeks into it and actually loving it.
First of all, to avoid confusion, the focus here is weight circuit training. They do have cardio equipment (treadmills, ellipticals, etc.) and free weights, but the goal is to turn fat into slim muscle through «bootcamp.»
They have a pretty unique setup, in that your workout really is private. You do three rounds on one machine in a small room with two doors (entry and exit), keep going on the third round until you hear the recording of a guy shouting «Go! Go! Go!» then move on to the next machine in the adjacent room. Three rounds on that machine, then on to the next room. Repeat. Repeat. And repeat until you’re done (I think there are around 12 rooms or so).
The whole thing is designed very efficiently and they hit all your muscle groups. You are WHOOPED by the end of it (if you really brought it), but it goes by so fast. The whole time, you’re writing down your reps on their sheet they give you and learn what to increase the next time you’re there.
The staff is friendly and get to know you after just a couple visits. They explain the machines pretty well, too. There are also showers, lockers and a big TV.
So overall, unless you’re really trying to bulk up, I strongly recommend them if you’re looking for a different workout routine or enjoy privacy when working out (I know I do). My wife has lost weight and I can definitely see more definition in my muscles.
