I really dont know what the hype is about, but this place is nasty. The rice was so mushy! I ordered the stewed chicken and it was DRY… how is STEWED chicken dry? The world will never know. Also they had ran out of pikliz that day, but they offered to give me the vinegar water from the jar… umm no thats ok. Ive grown up eating Haitian food and this was the worst.

First many Haitian restaurant at first they made their food excellent after a few years go by food get less tastier and pricey. I’ve been going to Denise for more then 6 yrs now for the food gets better and better & Haitian Food ever. Rice and beans with fried goat are the best in the menu also the Friday. Everything in Denise taste amazing and I can’t get enough. not all Haitian restaurant can have good food like this. Denise for ever.

I love the tassot and turkey from here. The tassot is very tender. My boyfriend loves the fish and turkey too. I don’t really like that they put the pickliz on the food. I like it in a separate container(thats why I gave them 4 stars). But nonetheless it’s a good spot.

Denise, I like you a lot. Great Haitian food at minimal prices. What you get? Whole bunch of food! Fried goat, plantains pikliz(Haitian spicy scotch bonnet vinaigrette sauce) check. Rice and Beans all the staples are here. Cooked wit Haitians food base known as «epis», like eating Mom’s cooking. But it’s lacking in seating. The décor is economical and makes due. «Sign up and win a car sweepstakes take up a majority of the window. There always some sort of Haitian concert going on somewhere in Brooklyn or at SOBs that you can buy tickets here then take«107» NJ transit bus to get there to watch it. Denise makes you feel at home. She attempts to woo you with her cooking skills, especially if you’re not of Haitian decent. There is no pretentious French speaker, with all that oui oui stuff, j just good old Creole. Its good food that wants to freed into the mouths of everyone ready to try something different. Reminiscent of the many Haitian restaurants I have seen in Miami, Irvington, NJ is turning out to be a bit Haitian Nation when it comes to authentic, Haitian food, sorry Brooklyn
