I’d brought home his delicious store-made hummus and tabouleh before, so when my wife offered to pick up a couple of schwarma platters, I was all for it. Man, what a disappointment! The meat(marinated beef, I suspect) arrived dry, tough, and nearly flavorless. I hope we just caught him on a bad day, at the end of an old batch. I’d have given a two-star rating, but the tabouleh was its usual excellence, and the store-made pickled carrots tasty.

My boyfriend and I ordered from Irvington Delight tonight for the first time. The food is so fresh and flavorful we are both so impressed and happy that we ordered from here. Definitely will be ordering from again and again.

If someone told me that my addiction to coffee would lead me to discover one of the best places in Irvington, NY, I’d laugh and say, «This addiction isn’t going to discover anything but my body on the ground when I don’t feed my need.» But I’d be wrong. I stumbled into Irvington Delight early one morning in desperate need of coffee. My senses were awakened as I looked around: a huge breakfast and lunch menu, a large variety of snacks and drinks, homemade Mediterranean pastries, coffee. The coffee, for one, is great. It’s cheap and does the trick. I ordered a plain cheese omelet one morning and it was one of the best I’ve ever had(and I go to a LOT of diners). One day for lunch I tried the Irvington Delight Combo in a whole wheat wrap(grilled chicken, bacon, provolone, lettuce, tomatoes, and ranch dressing) and it was STUNNINGLY delicious. It was made fresh right in front of my eyes and oozed with warm cheesy, chickeny, bacony goodness. Heaven on earth. I’m excited to try the traditional Mediterranean cuisine featured on the menu, especially because so many Unilocalers rave about it. The people who work here are very friendly and will make you anything you want! Even if you stop by at noon and want eggs, they’ll break out their breakfast magic and whip up a great brunch for you. Hopefully one morning soon you’ll stop by Irvington Delight only for a coffee, but you’ll walk out with an omelet and pastry and sandwich and lunch platter, et al.

Delectable — we enjoyed take out several times for weekend dinners. The sampler platter meal was particularly good. Very fresh ingredients. Great to have in Irvington!

One skewer for chicken platter too pricey. And meat or spinach pie not worth $ 4. Taste of food ok but not great value. And did not care for tabbouleh salad side. Sorry but unlikely to return.

This is truly a gem. If you’re looking for Middle Eastern food in the area, this is the real deal and it’s actually really good: hands down the BEST kibbe in New York(and NJ… Paterson at least) and other excellent meze: baba ghanouj, lebni, hummus, meat and vegetable pies. AND it’s all hand made on the premises AND locally sourced wherever possible. Case in point: the grape leaves used in warak(dolmides or stuffed grape leaves) come from a tree in the owner’s garden that the family brought over from Jordan in the 1960s. Can’t get anymore authentic than that. While the food is great, it’s really the proprietors that make this place a home run. The wife uses all of her own recipes and makes or oversees each batch of food preparations so everything is always delicious and fresh. If they don’t have it made, she’ll make it right there for you, or personally call you to let you know when she’s cooked up the next batch. She’ll even make dishes that are not on the menu(we’re very much looking forward to getting the call for Mansef). In short, The customer service is impeccable and genuine. This is a very special place, Irvington is lucky to have it.

We just had a terrific lunch. The babaganoush is excellent! Eat in or take out. Great looking meat patties and shawarma.

The Baba Ghanoush is AMAZING!!! This restaurant catered Sunnyside Federal’s Third Thursday event and the food was fantastic but the Freekeh was out of this world! The owners and staff are very friendly. This is a great addition to Irvington’s food scene.

We met Nabeel yesterday at his wonderful store, Irvington Delight. He kept the kitchen open a bit later to fill our order for our cravings of schwarma, falafel, and hummus. It was the most delicious we have ever had! Homemade quality ingredients and very delicious! Plus his pistachio Baklava was the perfect way to end our meal. Thanks for staying open and we look forward to another meal soon!

Fantastic Mediterranean Food! Everything is homemade. Best Baba Ganouj I’ve ever had, Great Schawarma and you HAVETO try the Freekeh with roasted pine nuts, almonds, and diced lamb. So. Darn. Good!

My job received menus from this restaurant and since I saw that they had Middle eastern food on the menu and I’m middle eastern I wanted to give this place a try, and in westchester we really don’t have any middle eastern restaurants just two in Yonkers but those restaurants gross me out since they are in he worst neighborhoods and the fold taste funny, anyway … So I was determined to try this place and I ordered the chicken shawarma sandwich with garlic sauce and it was delicious! I also ordered the fatoosh salad but I just wish it was a little more sour and had more bread but overall this place is yummy and I was yummy with my experience!

FIVE Stars! My friend and I were on our way to a gig in Tarrytown last week and arrived in the area early, so we decided to look for a place where we could get a cup of coffee. Neither of us wanted Dunkin Doughnuts so we drove a bit until we saw this nice little, inviting corner store Irvington Delight. We figured we could get a nice cup of coffee there. The owner couldn’t be friendlier. As we got our coffees, my friend realized he took the decaf by mistake. Without hesitation he said to take another cup and get the regular he wanted, no extra charge. At this point I heard some middle eastern music playing in the background. That got me curious, so I I took a step around to the food case and sure enough I noticed a bunch of middle eastern delicacies, most notably — Grape Leaves! I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing my wife’s family’s Grape Leaves, Humous, Kibbe, Baba Ganoush etc… and I know what the REALDEAL is. Further, even as an Italian-American I can still say that there is no food I’d rather eat than REAL middle eastern cuisine. It’s just indescribably delicious, and my mother-in-law, and my wife’s grandmother were masters. Since they’re no longer with us, we only have«Syrian» food on rare occasions. I asked the owner if these were real middle eastern grape leaves, and he told me absolutely… that it was all homemade. The grape leaves come from his own vine(just like my wife’s family had always done), and then he proceeded to giving us samples of EVERYTHING! The grape leaves were delicious, made with lamb, and indeed the REALDEAL. He also gave us samples of homemade humous, which was creamy and amazing with just the right amount of(the often missing) Tahini flavor. Then we tried the Baba Ganoush, and again it was creamy and delicious, and definitely unlike any commercially available product you’ll find in a Costco or wherever. I just«needed» to buy a dozen grape leaves to take with me, though the owner didn’t pressure us to purchase anything more than the 2 cups of coffee we bought, even with all the samples he gave us. I guess he was content to let his food do the work? I’ll add that for all the work that goes into making grape leaves, $ 10.00 for 1 dozen was incredibly inexpensive. What a wonderful experience it was to visit Irvington Delight! I live in Staten Island, but I will not hesitate to make the trip up to Irvington to buy some of these amazing delicacies. For sure, I will definitely stop in whenever I play in the area(which is often). Thank you for your generosity and hospitality!

What a breath of fresh air! Fresh, heathy and authentic Middle Eastern food in Irvington and the owners are lovely. The Middle Eastern platter for two is a great dinner choice for take out. It will easily feed three. It is a nice variety of meats, vegetables, humus, rice and appetizers. My mom who was born in the Middle East says their kunafa is the real deal. I was very happy with the baklava. I think their falafel is better than Good Life. I still prefer mine made with fava beans rather than chick peas but that’s a regional difference in cuisine. Also, I’m hopelessly in love with the middle eastern pickles they use.

Wonderful and authentic Middle Eastern food. The owners are very friendly. I wasn’t sure what to order and the woman behind the counter recommended the chicken shawarma in a pita. It was cooked to order and did not disappoint! Will definitely be back.

Fantastic Middle-eastern food. Don’t let it’s drab, deli-like appearance fool you, because the food is on par with fancier, sit-down places in NYC(there are tables here if you’d like to eat in, but I always take-out). After 4 or 5 meals there, always ordering something different, I can say that the quality has been consistent across the board. The various middle-eastern platters are generously portioned and come with a variety of dishes. I’ve twice now ordered what the owner has recommended and been totally satisfied. My only gripe(a rather small one) is that the pita they use seems rather thin, and the meat is juicy, so the shawarma sandwich I had fell apart rather quickly, forcing me to resort to knife and fork. Oasis in Williamsburg, Brooklyn seems to have the construction of their Shawarma sandwich down to a science. Tons of ingredients in a nice pocket that, with the help of wax paper, really holds it’s shape until the end. Irvington Delight could stand to learn this art form.

This is a great, authentic spot with fresh food that is made to order. I had been anticipating its opening and glad that I finally made my way there. The owner takes great pride in his food and was very helpful in suggesting that I order the falafel combo. The fresh, warm and perfectly crisp falafels were accompanied with creamy baba ganouj, and delicious, homemade hummus. There are a few chairs for a quick bite, and an extensive menu that seems to cater to even the less-adventurous patrons. I look forward to my next meal here!
