My husband and I went on a wave runner tour with Dave. We own our own wave runners and respected his rules which were perfectly reasonable. He took us out in the Mangrove mazes, in which we saw a crocodile sunning on someone’s patio, as well as out in the open waters of the bay. He was a wonderful guide and we thoroughly enjoyed our tour. I would highly recommend to anyone in the Islamorada area.

I purchased a LivingSocial deal for a snorkeling trip for two adults with gear in late September. Throughout January(the deal expired on January 19th) and February, I repeatedly tried to schedule my trip. The first time, early in January, I finalized my trip with them for a Sunday morning. I was en route with my friends, just passing Homestead, when they called to tell me the trip was cancelled because of murky water, and that we would need to reschedule. Repeated rescheduling attempts failed. It started to feel like as though the folks at Islander Watersports were trying to do everything possible not to honor the LivingSocial deal. I was told I would be called back if trips were scheduled, that the trip would be moved to another day, etc. As my deal approached expiration, the man with whom I spoke assured me that my deal would be honored even once it expired. The general pattern was that I would call to schedule the trip, and someone would tell me that I would be called back on Thursday before the weekend of the trip. No one would call, and when I called on Friday, I would be told that there weren’t enough«paying customers» to make the trip. I guess if you buy a LivingSocial deal, you don’t count as a paying customer? Then they would suggest waiting until the next weekend when they«were sure there would be enough people.» Finally, at the end of February, the man with whom I had been speaking(and who had promised to honor my deal) suggested that I call back in April or May, when the weather turned. Then, there would probably be more people going out and there would be enough seats on the boat. I did just this. When I called this week to schedule my trip, I was informed that my deal could not be redeemed. «People had plenty of time to use that, and they waited until the last minute.» They offered to honor the paid value(how kind of them), and that the additional cost would be $ 35 for two adults, and they wouldn’t charge for gear. I was told I would get a call on Thursday confirming the trip as «they needed 7 paying customers» to make the trip. I still have not received a phone call. I have wasted $ 40 on this deal, which I no longer want to use(not even the«paid value»). I have purchased other snorkeling deals(through Groupon) and have found those businesses to be run with a much better eye towards customer service and building a relationship.
