Wonderful food and drinks! Had the Yellowtail and Pistasco crusted snapper. The daiquiri was so refreshing! A real daiquiri not the frozen sugary kind.

Beautiful outdoors location Wife used to own a restaurant and is a tough customer. When she tasted the French fries that came with her Mahi Mahi, she immediately said«They need to change the oil. These are too greasy.» She also thought the presentation on the plate was very plain compared to the $ 29 price paid for it. No bread or anything else came before the meal.

This place has amazing views — gorgeous sunset, beautiful location on the water with private beach. My family and I have been coming here for 3 years on our annual vacations and we love the atmosphere. The food is good — not great — but we come here for the ambience and atmosphere.

Arrived at 9 and left at 11:20. A simple order of a fish sandwich, Mac n cheese and kids fingers took over 1 hour. Waitress was never around. It seem as she would hide in the kitchen. Overall, terrible service, food was so so, not worth the time spent waiting to get a table nor the food. Will never be back. Pricey. Don’t mind paying for great service and good food.

This was a spectacular afternoon. This is a restaurant where location is everything. It is located right on the Ocean. You can rent chairs and paddle boards and enjoy delicious cocktails. When you’re tired of the sun you can have an amazing meal. They have beautiful patio tables, tables that are swings, yes I said swings and bar seating. We opted for the bar because we are bar people. We had a nice seat with a great view of the ocean. We had a really nice southern bartender, Sarah ?. She was super friendly and really outgoing. The crab dip app was really good and my hubby loved the conch chowder. The standout item was a salad called the Alligator Reef. Giant boiled shrimp, poles of crab and tons of yummy veggies. Really great presentation. I had a tasty grouper onion dish that was very rich. The whole time we are enjoying lunch, there is live entertainment. The singer guitar player was amazing and playing great island songs. At one point he was joined by a flute player named Tracy that was was very good. This was the most pleasant meal we had in the keys and we could’ve stayed there all day if we had not had to drive.

Food was good and service was okay. I wish they would have brought the food a little quicker, but with the water right there and so much beauty around, I think people just work there in a different pace. The Place itself was well-kept(aside from the dead little roach I saw in the bathroom). I absolutely loved that you can just go in the water after lunch and they even have a beach chair rental place to make things even easier. If you’re fancy enough, you can park your boat and walk right into the restaurant. There are not a lot of good food places with such amenities on your way to Key West, so this place provided a very nice pit-stop.

Nice atmosphere for watching the sunset and everyone is friendly. I had the seared tuna as an app and it was okay. I also had the«Take it Keysy» drink and it seemed a bit watered down.

Nice atmosphere, great service(shout out to Stuart, who was attentive without being annoying, pleasant, and just good at his job with a good attitude to boot), and good food and wine. Zero complaints. Would recommend to anyone driving through the Keys.

Another update(APRIL28) Last night we had a wonderful experience with the only, and I mean only, problem was that the event was over to quickly. Our server(Adonis) was very attentive and friendly. When asked, he took our family photo and made us feel at home. Food was great too! Can’t wait to come back again. Our reservation was for 7 and we were also able to catch a beautiful sunset. All in all a wonderful experience. Greg

I went on a Monday around 1130am after doing some business in the area. Great view! Nice canopy looking tables right by the water. Had a lightly battered hog fish with a crab cake on top with béarnaise sauce. Served along with island black bean and rice style side. The lunch meal was very filling and I was so glad I didn’t order any appetizers. Had a cocktail, it was a Piña colada with other tropical fruits. Not to shabby on the prices considering the other places I been to in the upper Keys that have Oceanside seating. I regret no getting the waiters name to mention how attentive he was also considering he was new he did a fabulous job. I will return again soon in the evening time to catch the sunset while enjoying a cocktail.

5 stars for the View! The sunset was phenomenal!!! 5 stars for the service. We were extremely well received. Curt was really welcoming and gave us a bunch of information and suggestions to make our nights even more enjoyable! 4 stars for the food. The 36 $ plate I had was alright. I had better meals for that price. It was shrimp lobster and crab pasta. Altough the Grouper sandwich was just amazing!!! Highly recommend the place for dinner come early to see the sunset. Great staff.

Here is another place I like to take out of town guests for a nice sunset dinner in the Keys. On this visit, we arrived 20 minutes before sundown on a Friday and after much hunting found the next to last parking space! Once inside we checked in at the hostess stand and were advised of a 20 minute wait. They take your phone number for notification. I grabbed 4 Rumrunners at the bar and headed for the adjacent pier jutting out into Florida Bay. There, we were treated to a bee-U-tiful winter sunset. Below our feet, barracuda and a large nurse shark patrolled the flats at low tide. A very good singer/guitarist who seemed to pull every acoustic number out of the Led Zeppelin songbook, was very entertaining. Our guest was beside herself. Onto the meal, we were seated right after 20 mins. Our table still afforded a beautiful view as the sun sank and hues of pink and purple appeared in the sky. Our server was an attractive young lady who was kind of timid and appeared to be overwhelmed in general with order taking. I realized this when at the next table a male server expertly read off the day’s specials from memory. Among the specials was hog fish, which I love but did not see on the regular menu. I was incensed that I was not given the option of ordering it, but I didn’t want the drama in front of my daughter and her guest. Apps that we had included conch fritters(very well prepared with a great curry based dipping sauce), tasty warm blue crab dip with fresh chips, and an «ok» coconut shrimp. Entrees were sesame seared ahi salad(excellent), dinner portion Caesar salad with added mahi(a generous portion), Key Lime seafood penne(lobster, shrimp, and crab in a delicious and interesting Key Lime/Tabasco butter sauce) and my entrée, the shrimp sautéed with haiku tomatoes & capers. The medium shrimp were very good but there’s only 4…1 or 2 more would’ve been nice. The penne was a tad too Al dente’ for me. The tomatoes were awesome, they tasted farm to table fresh. Olive oil, garlic, and capers saved the dish from mediocrity as well. Dessert was a pretty good Key Lime pie, with a nice toasted, ruffled meringue topping. More entertainment ensued when an aggressive land crab appeared and tried to snip the nose off an investigating Maltese at the next table. An intrepid waiter dispatched the crustacean with a broom and dust pan into the mangroves LOL. Overall, I liked the food and the sunset and nautical vibe. Rating comes down for inadequate parking and the server dropping the ball on the daily specials. For 4 drinks, 3 apps, 4 entrees, 2 desserts the bill with gratuity was $ 245…too much for the MEH service received. There are other, less expensive places nearby that also have bayside dining for the sunset. I hope Marker 88 realizes this!

During an 8 night stay in nearby Tavernier, my wife and I enjoyed 4 dinners at Marker 88. We quickly found that it was a place where we couldn’t go wrong. The service was generally excellent, polite and attentive.(although one server always seemed a bit rushed and not as friendly as the others) They have a decent beer selection and some interesting and nicely made cocktails. The food was great. We always ordered fish and always got very fresh and tasty dishes. The prices can be a little shocking($ 40 for the nut encrusted snapper entrée special one night) but I’m willing to pay for the quality they’re serving. This is a beautiful location to watch the sunset from and the live music was very good. Overall, we considered Marker 88 to be a very good find thanks to the many positive reviews here on Unilocal

Loved this place, near perfection Atmosphere A+ Food A Service, value A– Waterside, mellow vibe Recommended by our hotel, never would have happened upon it otherwise. We had hogfish in the ultimate preparation: lemon, capers, key lime bitter, with key limes. Spouse had ahi tuna salad. Had great cocktails: Hemingway(rum, lime, simple syrup) and Mojito. Simple, classic, delicious, and a local IPA. Highly recommended Dessert for spouse: gotta be key lime pie. PS: We liked it so much that we returned the next day for a late lunch. Spouse had the same Ahi Tuna salad, I had the crispy-fried fish in lemon-caper sauce. Both of us loved our entrees. This time they were out of the beer I wanted, and the service was not nearly as friendly. And it was terribly inefficient. I’d give it 4 stars for this return visit.

Had a great lunch here, and the excellent view added to the fun. I had the macadamia crusted hogfish sandwich which tasted fresh and delicious. The hogfish had a very clean taste. I went with the five cheese macaroni for a side and was glad I did. Great creaminess and I enjoyed Marker 88’s decision to go with a non-traditional pasta for a mac and cheese. I also had a bite of my companion’s coconut shrimp. Delicious. And a huge portion for an appetizer. The mango chutney it was served on was top notch. Both of these items were specials.

I go to Marker 88 quite often. It is a family friendly place with a great view and delicious food. They also have a full bar with a good selection of beer. The only reason I am giving four stars is because there was hair in my food so I had to send it back but I was offered free dessert and the meal was taken off the check(great customer service). Our waitress was so friendly! The tuni sashimi(not listed on the menu), the coconut shrimp, and all of their hog fish specials are exquisite.

Lucky enough to be close enough to where we were staying to walk there(about 5 min walk) Great view with outdoor dining. Arrived too late to view the sunset, but I can tell it would be spectacular. At marker 88, the menu is full of specialty dishes that all sound amazing, but are mid-high end of the price range. The highlight of the food, and the sole reason I would return is the lobster pesto pizza appetizer. A unique original dish that was simply amazing. We also had the grilled mahi sandwich and lobster bisque soup. Sandwich was ok. Soup came out lukewarm, not hot, and was pretty bland in taste. TL;DR — get the lobster pesto pizza.

If you want to experience dinner in paradise, if you like piña coladas and getting caught not just in the rain but in a spectacular sky painted canvas as the sunset dies, come on over and do not hesitate to Marker 88. This is one of my favorite little treasured places in Key Largo. I came here and the place offers great service, great top quality portioned fresh food and inspiring presentation. I have had the blue crab dip which is great and the lobster tail. Everything very exquisite. From the salads, to the sandwiches, to the simple souls and burgers, everything is very great. Their mixed drinks decent but they lack a little bit of the alcohol punch. I have tried their tequilas and I needed to request that extra shot to make it perfect. Is it a strategy to numb up tab? I don’t know… we may never know… Their key lime pie is very tasty and they are very proud of their award winning pie. Incredible place, beautiful scenery. At sunset the sky transforms as a canvas for our God’s creativity. It takes flight with in an array of multiple colorful strokes and colorful stencil taking over above us all.
