Went here for lunch with the family. Had the fish tacos and the Ma’s fish sandwich(blackened). Really just your standard beach fare, nothing really to get excited about. Maybe we just ordered the wrong menu items or caught them on a bad day. Either way, I’m sure there are better meals to be had in Islamorada.

If you love seafood and great prices you’ll love this little ‘joint’! Be sure to check the fresh fish board for today’s catch and … The Wine List!

An all around excellent dinner! Started with the Conch Fritters & Coconut Shrimp, both were great. For dinner, Triple Tail prepared Macumbe style, this was the first time I’d ever even heard of the fish called Triple Tail and it was excellent. I didn’t think dinner could get any better but the original style Key Lime Pie they bake in house was one of the most magnificent I’ve ever had the pleasure of tasting. And before I forget, the staff was just as amazing!

The fried shrimp was delicious; so was the shrimp scampi! The salad tasted so fresh it was like it was just picked. Good prices, my only complaint was that the portions are not very big. We would definitely go back!

This restaurant leaves much to be desired. The food is just alright. Many things had nice flavors but there was nothing special about it. The service was also subpar and the waiter didn’t have great knowledge about what was being served up. If you have any types of food allergies, just avoid. The desserts were probably the one thing that looked great but we didn’t order any because the meal left us underwhelmed. We won’t be back.

What a fantastic culinary experience! We both agreed that this was the absolute best meal we have had in the 15 days or so we’ve been in the Keys! It goes without saying that in those almost two weeks, that we have had some great meals that we have enjoyed immensely! But, this was the top of the heap, in food prep and presentation! I had the Shrimp and Grits and she had the Fried Shrimp Basket. Best shrimp we’ve either had for some time and they were prepared and presented to perfection! I’m not a huge Shrimp and Grits fan, but if they were all like this, I would have it everywhere we went! Very large shrimp in both dishes and were cooked to that fine line between done and rubbery mouth springs! My compliments to the chef for this fine touch in preparing this somewhat deceivingly difficult item to perfection! Did I mention dessert? As others have aptly pointed out, the Key Lime Pie is to die for! I had the DeepDish Key Lime Pie version and it was so much Key Lime goodness that it was purely sinful! She had the Hummingbird Cake and was very satisfied that she had made a great choice! Of course, we cross-sampled the other, and both were top drawer items! Our waitress was great, as well. She was attentive, but not hoveringly so! She chatted when she came by and it was obvious that this was her personality coming through and not just a «chat for tips» thing! We came here by accident of location, but will actively seek it out again! Highly recommend a stop by!

Stopped here based on reviews by Key TV and Unilocal.I was not disappointed. Had the catch of the day– grilled grouper, veggies, and yellow rice. It was delicious. Perfectly seasoned in perfect portion sizes, leaving room for dessert. My one disappointment — they were out of their traditional key lime pie with meringue topping. My husband ordered the deep dish key lime pie with strawberry purée and whipped cream. It has a graham cracker crust. It was fantastic. It had great tartness to it. Not too sweet as several I have tried on our stay in The Keys. I ordered their take on strawberry shortcake. It was quite good. Leaning towards being slightly too sweet. Although, even with the large portion size, I managed to eat almost the whole thing. Would definitely come back when I’m back in the area. Hopefully they will have their traditional key lime pie waiting for me.

I can only speak to the key lime pie as that’s all I came here for today… And it’s pretty dang amazing. I tried 5 key lime pies this week in the Keys and… This pie ranks in the top two. My fiancé says«Perfect ratio of tart and smooth, topped with meringue.»

Holy deliciousness! Excellent service by the sweetest waitress. We started with thick cracked conch, thicker than I have seen in the US, usually everyone outside of the Caribbean is chintzy on conch. The scampi hogfish dinner was perfectly cooked, with the Gouda macaroni and cheese and the sauteed kale, equaling the best meal we have had in the keys. And the Key Lime pie is really the best ever. There is a reason people stop by to just have dessert. The bottom line is that we will be back tomorrow.

Best key lime pie ever. We tried many during one weekend visiting the keys. It was so good, we tried again on the way back from key west. We also ate their healthy fish options that were delicious(seasoning of the snapper was amazing) A cheap and scrumptious spot.

Wow, what a great find. This restaurant ranks as one of my top 3 in the Florida Keys, possibly my number one! Started with the smoked fish dip which is made with actual chunks of smoked fish, delicious. The crack conch was fried to perfection. The fresh fish of the day, pan seared in a light butter and white wine sauce, superb! Now, the Key Lime pie, their pie is definitely the BEST in the keys. Forget the rest, this is the pie to judge the others by. Graham crust with a lightly toasted merengue top, the creamy filling is the perfect combination of sweet and tart. Guys do not miss out on this place. it’s located right across the street from the Islamorada Fish Company on MM81.5.

While driving northbound on US-1 leaving the Keys, my wife and I needed just one more key lime pie. A quick google/yelp search led us to Ma’s Fish Camp. We ordered Conch Fritters, and Key Lime Pie. The conch fritters weren’t memorable, but the key lime pie(and the main purpose of the visit) was great. Particularly the meringue they used was fantastic, and solidified their legitimacy since they used meringue, and that is was really really tasty. We arrived at an awkward time in between lunch and dinner and therefore the service was really off. The server just got in, seemed disheveled, scatter-brained, and was not very present. Also, the ambience was flat. But I’m sure that had a lot to do with the strange time we were there. I can only comment on the key lime pie and conch fritters, and I can confirm that the key lime pie was absolutely delicious and is well worth the stop. I’m not sure how anxious I am to return to try to the dinner, but if you are at Ma’s and you didn’t order the key lime pie, then you did it wrong.

Key lime pie! Key lime pie! Key lime pie! Seriously the key lime pie is absolutely magic, the merengue on top makes it unforgettable. Conch fritters choice of appetizer was nice. We went with the catch of the day options. My grilled hogfish was delicious, my friend enjoyed the grouper with scampi shrimp. The fresh catch comes with two sides, the kale, the mac and cheese are worth selecting. Service was friendly and attentive. Nice restaurant I would definitely go back. Don’t forget to order the key lime pie!

We haven’t even left the restaurant yet and I just HAVE to write this review ASAP because it was just that good. No, it wasn’t good, it was AMAZING. For one, my husband is the biggest fan of shrimp scampi and he said this is THEBEST he’s ever had. Our group of 7 pretty much devoured everything we had. Also, you MUST get the [award winning] smoked fish dip. And the conch chowder was also delicious. And then for dessert. The pièce de résistance… with a standing ovation [my favorite dessert and no it’s not the key lime pie] … drum roll… Strawberry Shortcake! [swoon] It was literally a party in my mouth. But not a wild party, it was a mellow, laid back yet sweet party. Yes. It was dessert beauty. And well service was great, very attentive and kind staff. This place is a must. We were between a restaurant with a view or a restaurant with quality food… and as an self-titled foodie, of course I went for quality of food.

Leaving the Keys always hurts my heart a little bit. What about you? Before reality sets in on that drive back to Miami, do as I did and hit up Ma’s Fish Camp in Islamorada for one final taste of what the Keys does best — fresh fish and key lime pie. On a Sunday afternoon, we walked in on some old lovebirds having a nice afternoon meal and that’s about it. We grabbed a spot near the«bar area» to catch some football on an underwhelming mounted 18-inch TV. No worries though, we were here for the food. We ordered Baja fish tacos to split, a house salad with homemade feta yogurt dressing and some key lime pie. The fish tacos came in an order of three and were piled high with fresh toppings and so delicious! My boyfriend and I were splitting but I think we could’ve each devoured our own order. The salad was a great size and the dressing was tasty. Now… the pie! They have two different versions of key lime pie(classic and deep dish). Our waitress recommended the classic and while I didn’t think I was a fan of tall merengue on top of my pie, I’m now questioning everything I’ve ever believed in. Since the restaurant was pretty empty, we were in and out of here in about thirty minutes. With reasonable prices, this really just seemed like a great family O&O joint with no-frills food and reliable service. While I did make it back to Miami eventually, Ma’s Fish Camp let me hold on to that laid back vibe of the Keys for a sweet 30 minutes longer… Next time? I’ll take another piece of pie for the road!
