Hertz Rent A Car

Price gouge alert.
Tried to charge 299/​day for a small Rav4 type SUV when I «hot​line​.com» for 50ish including tax.
I had taken a trip to Kona to take mother who has stage 4 cancer on a bucket list trip. We rented a convertible mustang, later to find she, at 80 years old couldn’t comfortably tour island in it. Took it in to exchange for a cheapy car out of «need» not want. And they tried to charge 500+ on top of what I’ve already paid! I was in tears… To what they called an upgrade… I’m sorry a Rav 4, in my book is a «downgrade»! And… As a good business practice for my situation, I would have switched a car as a complimentary service or even a very small charge. After lots of downtown arguing, they adjusted somewhat, but still paid 200+ over what i already paid. They’re sure to loose our whole family’s business. Too bad, I’m taking many more trips to the big island.
Oh, and double watch them charging you for gas, even though YOU FILL IT UP (at Costo-​cheapest gas) It happened twice already.

I love their service! Highly convenient that it’s attached to the hotel, and they are just super mic and understanding. Got the car cleaned and gassed up fast way before I even got there to check in. I do recommend these guys! In tandem with the hotel’s cheap valet service, I have never been happier to have a rental.

I suggest using this as a last resort. They are slow and rude and if I wasn’t in need of a car so bad I would have walked out! He tried telling me my name or social security weren’t right… Idiot but eventually when he put the information in correctly it worked!
