I was raving about this place 6 months ago, and now I have to say I’m pretty disappointed. This place started off really great and over time it just got worse. I hadn’t been to Inca Wasi in a few months and was upset when it wasn’t up to it’s usual standards, I was also sad to see t. that he regular waitress(who was great!) had been fired. I chalked this bad experience up to an off night; like I said, I had some great meals here in the past. However, when I went again a month after that, it was just not good. The ceviche, which I literally would crave because it was so amazing, was chewy and clearly hadn’t been marinated for that long. I know they closed for the month of January. I’ll give it one last try. Hopefully that break brought the life back into Inca Wasi, if not I’m crossing if off my list.

I’ve been here 3 times and have had a different experience each time. 1st was the lunch special — absolutely amazing! Chicken w/tons of veggies and fries in a vinegar sauce… but I never found that dish on the menu again. 2nd I went with family and we ordered everything from soup, appetizers, salads and entrees — all very good and very pricey. 3rd time I just went in to pick up some of their amazing soup and ended up with chicken and spaghetti with water… what happened? And it must have been around the same time as another review on here, because there was no flan… no desserts at all… strange for a spanish restaurant. I’m not giving up on Wasi yet! I’ll go one more time and hope for the best!

Normally I wouldn’t write an incredibly bad review on a place but being that it was so terrible and NOT inexpensive I feel that I need to inform one and all NOT to waste their money. This place is one of the worst places I’ve been. We love authentic hole in the wall type of places but this place didn’t deliver. The appetizers were weird. Skirt steak should not taste like liver(I’m a foodie with a pretty well trained palette.) and the meals just tasted old. Like the meat had been sitting in vinegar or their super bland chimichurri for days. Nothing tasted fresh. This place will not last because no one will return after the first meal. I actually am concerned about the welfare of anyone who goes there. People may get sick. Only thing I can say was good was their roasted potatoes and white sangria. And the prices were over the top for what you were getting. Do not waste your time or waste your money. Trust me on this one. It is NOT a hidden jem. I give it 3 months if that.

Excellent food and service; good prfices. One major warning; if you plan to use certificate, better ask before you sit down. had the unfortunate experience, as did other parties on that evening of dining first and when presenting certificate, was not honored. Stated reason was a problem with , however their letter advising of this was posted on a door that was left open and therefore out of view. The restaurant still chose not to accept the certificate, not even offering a free cup of coffee for the situation. So in the end, left a bad taste in my mouth, one where a business practice will affect my desire to return

We went here because of deal and what a deal it was. It is a small place, right opposite LIRR. It was a warm Sat night so they had the front of the restaurant open, meaning looking right onto the sidewalk. We arrived at 7:15 pm and it was fairly empty, however within an hour, mostly all the tables were filled. There were 4 people and we shared the seafood appetizer, quinoa and veggies, grilled steak, roasted chicken which came with salad, French fries, rice, beans, plantons, and they gave us a carrot and potato dish. Everything was delicious, only complaint was steak was too salty and as another reviewer noted, the steak was suppose to be with chimichurri sauce but I didn’t see any. The waitress was extremely friendly and attentive. The food was plentiful. A can of soda was only $ 1.50. They only had 1 dessert which was flan and that was homemade and delicious. Prices very reasonable, great service, delicious food — we will be back.

We had been curious about this place for a couple months and finally got in for dinner. The menu is great, the service is a little unsure but friendly and attentive. We ordered a papa relleno appetizer, entrana(skirt steak) entrée and a chicken w/artichoke entrée. The appetizer was ok. I wouldn’ve enjoyed some kind of sauce on the side to moisten it up as the meat inside was overcooked. The entrees came and we were so disappointed by how overly salty the potatoes in both dishes were. The menu said the chicken was sauteed but it was fried and the entire plate was very, very greasy. The entrana was a poor quality of «skirt» steak and the chimichurri was barely there — we could see it but not taste it. We really were looking forward to this dinner but were really bummed out to find how low quality, salty and greasy the entire dinner was.

This restaurant opened up recently in Island Park directly across from the train station. We ventured in tonight and were impressed with the design. They were able to create a warm atmosphere enhanced by the beautiful mural on the wall created by the owner himself. I was impressed. The waitress was so sweet and helpful. We settled in with a glass of red wine and ordered an appetizer, Chola Gorda made from mashed potato and filled with a delicious meat mixture. There were several to choose from and we will return and try them all. They also have an impressive list of ceviche’s. Do ask to try their hot sauces as they are delcious. They brought us a small dish with all three which include a yellow pepper sauce which was very mild, a jalepeno sauce which was divine and a very hot salsa which we asked for more. I ordered the Paella and it was delicious. My husband ordered the grilled flank steak and ate it all with relish. As word gets out about this restaurant I’m sure they will soon find it full every night. I know we plan to return often.
