Love, Love, Love Brighton State Park! Many of the camping sites & lean-to’s have direct, private access to Spectacle Pond whose natural shore line remains free of private camps. The park itself is laid back, clean, not crowded and provides plenty of activities for the young & old alike. It sports a fabulous new solar bath house that sparkles, not the musty kind of days past. Hiking trails abound, zen garden, horse shoe pits, volleyball, the list goes on & on! Like to kayak, fish, hike, canoe, mtn bike? It’s location is close to so many crystal clear water ponds & lakes. Silvio O. Conte Fish & Wildlife Refuge is 10 miles away & offers 26,000 acres of trails and if that is not enough you can venture to Kingdom Trails, Burke Mountain within ½ hour. 10 minutes away from Island Pond if you happen to forget something or need groceries. Highly recommend, already made my reservations for next year, easy 2 hr trip from Burlington, Vt. & dog friendly!
