The Isle of Palms Connector Run is one Saturday when you can run over the connector when it is closed to traffic, therefore you are not fearing for your life. Unlike the Cooper River Bridge, there is no pedestrian lane, so I never feel as safe running on it as a casual training run. I did the Isle of Palms Connector Run 5K a few weeks ago. Interesting that I can review it on Unilocal :). It is a pretty good race. Lots of runners and walkers come out, but it only seems crowded at the beginning. The race itself had plenty of aid stations and water stops, and you get a beautiful view on the connector. The after party had live music as well as free beer, but not a whole lot of refreshments. Be sure to stretch after this run because the terrain of the connector is hard and will make your legs sore the next day!
