I can’t respond to these other reviews since I’ve never rented a boat here but I will say in response to them to forget about a working or non-working depth finder. If it was my first time navigating the inshore waters then I’d be sure to have a tide chart and a chartplotter/GPS. That said, we’ve been ramping our 23′ Sea Hunt here for about 3 years and have found it to be the best marina around Charleston. The marina store is great and the staff couldn’t be friendlier. Prices in the store are reasonable and the freshly made sandwiches are pretty good. The only negative I can say is that the ramp gets very busy during the weekends but that’s not their fault.

Had our first trip of the season to Isle of Palms Marina the other day and just wanted to document how pleased we always are with the facilities and customer service. No matter what we need, boat related or not, Chase, in the dock office, is always more than happy to help in any way that he can. And it’s really so much more than just a marina, with the store, deli, boat rentals, and charter booking. I would recommend IOP Marina to anyone who is looking for a great way to enjoy a beautiful day in Charleston!

I was very disappointed with the way that we were treated after renting a boat for the day. Unfortunately for the marina we were a group of very experienced boaters… out of the 7 riders, 4 have 15+ years of boating experience. Nothing on the boat worked. When we brought this up we were treated with apathy, rudeness and completely dismissed. As a person who runs a company… I feel the owner and manager should be ashamed. When on vacation and spending money to have a fun day out on the water the last thing we wanted to deal with was running aground… or getting a ticket for not having a working horn. Bottom line… the product was not up to standard and the customer service was even worse. PLEASE do not rent from this marina. Or be fore warned what you are getting yourself into.

We rented a boat on July 11th, 2013 from the marina. The radio did not work. The horn did not work. The depth finder did not work. The gas gauge did not work. The speedometer did not work. We paid $ 450 for a half day rental. I would not recommend this marina based on the fact that they do not care for their boats or their customers. I asked Chase if he knew the boat was not working properly he said as long as the boat ran than there were no issues. I felt our safety without a working boat was an issue. No depth finder in the sound is not safe. Overall I think the way Chase, manager, handled the situation was immature, lacking in customer service and safety of others. Chase reassured me that his owner would back him because he himself does not care either. Overall shocking. As long as you don’t want a radio, depth finder, horn, speedometer, gas gauge than I would rent from this marina.
