We stopped here en route to Elk Grove. We bought some fruit and used the restroom facilities. The fruit quality and prices were just alright. I have seen better. I liked the spot because of all of the informative wall maps and free printed information about discovering the Delta. I now have a greater understanding of the geography of the Sacramento — San Joaquin River Delta and I want to explore more. I would stop here again on my next trip and it made a nice rest stop and visitor’s bureau.

We’ve stopped several times at this great spot on Hwy 12, but not to buy produce! My favorite purchases here are their garlic pita chips and the bottles of fruit-infused wine. On our last stop, we bought these items, plus a soda, and spent less than $ 20. The pitas were a huge hit with our friends, and the big bag lasted a full afternoon with 7 people, with a few left over to take home. They have hummus and other dips if you’d like, as well as other snacks, fruits, and of course some veggies. Another patron really recommended the hummus, but we passed. Perhaps we’ll try it on our next stop in here. They have all the essentials to help make a day by the water extra nice!

I’ve been wanting to try this market out for the last 6 weeks since moving to the area. Its a very nice looking market that has fruits, vegetables, nuts, wine, crackers and the list goes on. I was disappointed with the fruit. The nectarines were from Dwelley farms which is only a few miles from my house. The onions were fine but the potatoes were just a little on the soft side. Corn was .40 cents each or 3 for a dollar and looked great. The whole reason I stopped was for cherries but they looked old and damaged. The fruit stands in Brentwood have better fruit by far. They did have great little bags of carmel corn with almonds. it didnt last the day. They also had very nice and clean restrooms.

My bf, friend and I decided to come here because we had some time to kill before getting a campsite at Brannan Island State Park. A lady approached us asking if this was our first time here. We said yes and she explained that all proceeds from the Delta Farmers Market support the Discover the Delta Foundation Education Center. I was impressed, but what I wasn’t really impressed is the pricing of some of the fruits and vegetables at this place(really expensive!!). Anyways, it was for a good cause… I ended up buying black berries, cherries and wine. They also had roosters and chickens there to entertain us. The three of us bought three bottles of wine(3 girls — Pinot Noir, Raspberry sparkling wine, and a pinot dessert wine). We opened the 3 girls and it didn’t taste all that bad. I don’t like red wine but I ended up drinking two glasses of the pinot noir. It was good and it was only $ 12.00! The cherries and blackberries were also very sweet and fresh. If I am ever camping again at Brannan Islands, I will definitely come back here to get a bottle of wine and more berries for my camping needs. The ladies here were very friendly and helpful!
