Drove behind with the fellas on their Harleys’ while driving to another spot on Memorial Day weekend, and met bartender «Jackie».
It was a slow day, because it was still early around 11:00ish.She was a kind soul & very sweet and courteous!

Nice little bar in the heart of the delta! Nice ambiance, bartender, and liquor selection. Slow night because it’s Wednesday but I’ll be back for sure!

I love in Louisiana, and this bar on River Road is just like a bar on the River Road in Louisiana.
Regulars with inane conversations that may test the limits of some folks– they got that. Great jukebox with a cavernous dance floor where you can be the only one dancing and not feel stupid– they got that too. They even have plywood stall doors in the restroom– which is surprisingly clean– of course, they told me that’s the case because no women ever go in there. So take that as you like.
The beer is cold and the people are friendly. This place might not be for everybody, but for me, it’s perfection in a dive bar. Just the thing for a hot day playing in the Delta.
I’ve never stayed in the hotel, but I have friends that do this somewhat regularly. It’s a dump– there’s no denying that. I’m told it’s a really fun dump– great weekend crash pad after swimming and fishing and getting tanked in the local dives.
Very fun– but as I said, maybe not for everybody.
