Got the veggie plate for $ 8.00. It was HUGE — definitely enough for 2. Everything was really tasty — lentils, potatoes, rice, cabbage. Didn’t get any sambusas — will definitely have to try next time. Packed it really nice to go(bonus point)!

Two lovely people showed up this year in the Issaquah Farmer’s Market selling Sambusas. If you haven’t had them, the short answer is sambusas are African and Mediterranean answer to Samosa. A little lighter feel from the use of Phylo dough than say an empenada or samosa. Anyway, these lovely people make Sambusas and they are really, really, really, delicious. At the farmer’s market they sell beef, chicken, potato, lentil and mushroom. They come with dipping sauces from mild to extra spicy. The extra spicy is more a deep blend of spices and chiles than what you might think would be just for fire eaters. It’s really not that hot, but it is amazing. You can order online and get them unfried too. I’m getting some this weekend at the market to bring home. Just go, try one. They’re $ 2 each. I had one. Then couldn’t wait for the week to end so I could have another. And I’ll be back in a few days for more.
