for 3 years Big Red did excellent job – online they answered questions politely and promptly; the delivery/pickup staff have all been all polite and helpful and they’ve stayed in touch if running late – but usually did not run late. However the company changed their pricing methodology without notifying current customers, and it cost us the same to store 5 boxes this year as it did for 10 boxes last year! Very disappointed and cannot recommend them after this.

I was genuinely really excited about this service because I figured it would save me a lot of hassle on move in day when all of my boxes were ready for me in my room prior to arrival. Unfortunately, half of my shipment never arrived and after multiple phone calls to their warehouse my packages were no where to be found. They provided me with a full refund of my purchase, but when I went to reorder my products they were all sold out. For a service I expected to make my life a little easier on move in day, it caused an unnecessary headache. Would not recommended this service, a very pricey alternative that is not worth the risk.

When Big Red Shipping first came to pick up my boxes, the storage team arrived late. Then, when I tried to get my boxes out of storage, I couldn’t get in touch with them. Their website wasn’t working, so I called several times, emailed, and even showed up to the office. When I went to their office, the person at the desk admitted he did not know which warehouse my boxes were in. Finally, I got my boxes delivered to my apartment five days late. The box had most of the things from my college apartment(bedding, plates, silverware, towels, etc.), so while waiting, I had to crash at a friend’s place and go to the store to re-buy things I already owned.

This storage company is one of the absolute worst. They overcharged me $ 300, lost 4 boxes, and when I received all my storage almost two months later, all my boxes marked«fragile» had been torn in half and repackaged using partially assembled boxes and masking tape. All my dishes, glasses, nail polish, and literally anything else I owned that could be broken was shattered, and those poorly reassembled boxes were full of glass so crushed it was dust. Only after another month did they refund me $ 300 of the $ 1200 I paid to ship and store my personal belongings… and I only moved from Ithaca to NYC. I literally would’ve been better off throwing all my stuff away instead of paying this terrible company for destroying it. I hope this is showing as ZERO stars, because they need to shut. it. down.

Never use this service! Big red shipping should have to change the name of their company because they do not actually ship anything. They just force you to buy fedex express(about 5x more expensive than normal shipping) and then charge you 40 per box of delivery from there office downtown to your dorm. They can’t even do this well, my box arrived a week and a half late. Nobody answered my calls the dozens of times I tried to reach them. I will never use this service again and would recommend no one else use it either.
