First time buying a keg. Last time buying a keg.
They didn’t have ¼ keg so they talked me into doing the ½ keg. All it did was foam. I delivered a full keg back and they weren’t even willing to reduce the rate.

Good place with probably the best beer selection in Ithaca. If distributors bring it to Ithaca, you can probably find it here. The staff is personable enough, and there is a mix of beer aficionados and college age kids getting kegs of Coors.
Like a couple others have mentioned, there is some beer on the shelves that is downright ancient. They don’t really dust their stock, so that is your first indicator that something might have been there longer than it should. Just be on the lookout and inform yourself about how to read the dates on beers.

i was going to give this a 5 but then i looked at the other reviews and one says that they found expired beer on the shelf and it reminded me that i once saw some there as well, BUT i love this place so much that it only takes one star off because their selection is AMAZING. i love that you have an option to buy a single bottle of any beer as well if you just want to try something. and their soda selection is also great. it’s hard for me to go here and not spend at least $ 50

I enjoyed shopping here while on vacation — the staff was friendly and helpful — BUT they definitely sell expired beer. No reason that EIGHT-​MONTH-​OLD Captain Lawrence IPA should be on the shelves (I was excited to find it since it’s not available back home in PA but had to pass, to my disappointment). To me, this demonstrates a lack of concern for the customer’s satisfaction and a focus on taking money for merchandise of unacceptable quality (which I find shady).
I did find some interesting selections, but anyone shopping here should beware of buying beer that’s beyond it’s enjoy-​by date. Don’t even enter the shop unless you’ve got fresh
loaded on your phone.
Overall I would only shop here again if I were looking for something in particular and couldn’t find it elsewhere. And even then I would approach shopping here with a healthy dose of suspicion.

I don’t see how you can give it less than 5 stars. Unless you are solely in the market for big bear 40s this place has one of the best selections out of any beer store I have been to. Prices may be a little high but selection is vast to say the least.

A perfect compliment to Northside (wine and liquor) is FLBC for your malted hops and barley. These guys are great, knowledgable and friendly. Lots of excellent local beers on the shelves that are pretty much impossible to find anywhere else. If you want something and they don’t got it, they’ll find it. I ordered a couple kegs and 4-​ish cases of Ommegang/​Ithaca/​Dogfish for my wedding and Pat & co. came through like champs. They even delivered the beer to the wedding venue so we didn’t have to haul it all. 5 stars for FLBC!

The staff here is great. They are always willing to make an effort to find the beer you want, and the owner goes out of his way to obtain beers that you can’t find anywhere else in Ithaca. They definitely have a few issues with bottles sitting on their shelves and expiring, but that is a small price to pay for the sheer quantity of different beers they make available. I think that issue is actually a symptom of having so much selection.

This place sells expired drinks. All of the stock of a particular company that this place carried was expired. I pointed it out to two employees, and neither of them cared or did anything about it. One of them insulted me. I brought up a can of product that was six months past. They didn’t care. I’m not purchasing from this place again; I can’t trust them to manage inventory. Besides which, they are pricier than other places.

Impressive selection of microbrew beers. I have never seen anything like this in Canada (Ontario LCBO stores).
My aim was to find a wide variety of beers and I found it at FLBC.

Every time I leave Ithaca, I always complain that there are no other places like FLBC! Its a beer drinker’s nirvana.
I don’t think there is a way to try every beer in this place. There has to be about 6 – 800 beers. The mix-​6 is the best way to try lots of different beers without having to get an entire case. Nothing is worse than buying a case of disappointing beer. They stock some of the best beer in the world. Some of my favorites I have had there are Avery-​The Beast, Southern Tier– Unearthly, Dogfish Head– Burton Baton.
Prices are very reasonable and the staff is friendly.
I wish this place would market itself better. I would love to have a «whats new» menu or a «flights» type of list for people who don’t know what a good dopplebock should taste like. A frequent buyer’s club would be cool but that is totally to serve my best interests!

I used to hit this place all the time — and when I come back for a visit, I usually have a small list of must-​haves that I’ll grab before heading home.
The selection is tops. Not only do they have a great selection of beer from near and far, but also sodas and gingerales/​rootbeers.
You can mix and match your own 6 pack which is fantastic for trying all of the flavors. Whenever family would visit I’d put together a 6-​er with bevs from the Ithaca area and from NH (Smuttynose) as a «welcome» gift… always appreciated. and consumed.
single bottles, packs, cases, and kegs — you can’t go wrong or empty-​handed — they have something for everyone.
People who work there are friendly, they don’t stare you down while you browse the aisles, and they are helpful — if you seek their help.
Easy in-​and-​out location.
I’ve never been disappointed.
Similar places should exist in Boston.

I am going to give this place three stars. This is one of the top four beer stores that I have been to in the state. The service is friendly, and somewhat (but not very) knowledgable, Becuase they don’t consistently have beers from the De Dolle brewery (somewhat obscure but not very much so) they get three, and not four stars. They also have a good selection of glassware. They are usually playing good music (classic rock stuff on satellite radio)… Their soft drink selection is superior to Half Time Beverages and Bierkraft (two other top places in the state)
