What a tucked-away gem! New to the area and hesitant to patronize chain establishments, I was thrilled to find The Grooming Room at the very end of W. Seneca Street.(It’s right next to the feed store so I can even hit two local pet businesses at once.) My Oliver is four years old and I simply cannot successfully trim his nails at home. It’s not about doggy spa day for this dog owner – necessity, not vanity. He doesn’t like it and I freak out every time I try to trim them for him. I’d asked around and searched online, but still couldn’t get comfortable with any of my Olly’s mani-pedi options. Enter Nancy. Her shop is clean and comfortable, nice and airy. She said to come on down when I called, and she worked us right in when we arrived. She was super gentle and has a real vibe of grounded, strong goodness and kindness about her. The trim was not only efficient and painless for both dog and human, but her prices are reasonable and her work top notch(unparalleled in Olly’s four years). While I was there, I met a big, white(I think) labradoodle named Chester who’d just had a most fetching haircut(and whose owner was clearly pleased – and in the know). Nancy is clearly an animal lover, too. Not only does she do great work, but she is very knowledgeable about canine/feline health in general. I’m so excited to have found her – I only wish she groomed humans.(She even gave my friend who was meeting me directions over the phone when my Ithaca geography proved insufficient.) You owe it to yourself and your furry friends to give The Grooming Room a try.
