Always pleasant and good work. I have brought a dozen dresses and pants to John to shorten/hem — they always provide quality service.

John is like a character from a different century — exceedingly friendly, cheerful and dedicated to his craft. I took a ripped leather jacket into him for emergency repairs and he agreed to give it his best attempt. The job was done for a fair price and the workmanship was superb. Every town needs a guy like this: a gentleman of the old school. He will call you«my friend» and you get the sense he really means it. Highly recommended.

This shop hemmed up my pants in one day at the perfect length, must be 5 star! I was reading reviews about tailor shops in Ithaca and called a few, only John would finish it the same day for me, so that’s where I went. I went there at 9:30am and they measured the right length for me, told me to pick up after 3pm, and it was done! Though it’s a easy hem(no linings), but for such a short time, they only charged $ 15. Cash only. Location is convenient too.

I was very impressed when I took my very complicated dress to John’s. Not only was he so nice and friendly, but he only charged me $ 15 for something I took elsewhere where they told me it would be $ 100. He did excellent work on it. I would highly recommend this place! It’s a bit of a hidden gem because it’s in an office/apartment building but it’s definitely worth the find because they do an awesome job! :)

Quality work and super-friendly. One of the BEST business people in Ithaca. Most businesses here just don’t treat their customers well — they act like they’re doing you a favor. Not this guy. John has fixed a few sport coats and jackets for me, taken in pants, fixed inseams, etc. Always a high-quality job. Thank you, John!

I’m a business student at Cornell, so I’ve needed a lot of work done over the last two years. I’m also a very petite woman, so it’s not easy to get things right when you’re working with a small amount of fabric. John has always done a great job for me and he’s really fun & friendly. His shop definitely has an old world feel. Sometimes things aren’t on time, but if you make it clear you have a specific date, then he always gets it done. I’ve used him for jackets and pants mostly.

I’ve used John’s several times over the past year to hem pants, and while the length has been fine, the stitching on my most recent pair of pants has been irregular and puckered. It doesn’t look professional at all to me. Sadly, this will be the last time I use John’s.

I’ve used John the Tailor for years. Had a suit & tie job once, and John was my go-to tailor any time I had the need. He tailored new suits, dress shirts, and the odd pants that I needed to have hemmed-up. Always dependable and sporting a great personality every single day.

I wanted to believe in Johns, really. Cute tailor-like shop and all. But the pants came back about ½ inch shorter than I wanted and the seam wasn’t neat and linear. Not a pro job. If I was you, I’d stick with Koriks
