I love quilter’s corner. I started shopping here in 2004 and have had nothing but terrific experiences there. I also took my first quilting class there in 2004. All of the instructors are fabulous and so much fun. I bought my pfaff sewing machine in 2005, and have absolutely loved it. The ladies taught me exactly how to use the machine and took my old machine as part of a trade-in sort of deal. Their customer service is outstanding! I’m always grateful for their help with fabric selection and project tips. Their stock of fabric is fantastic with lots of variety and super quality. I adore this store!

I’m actually really bummed to post something negative about a local business — because I much prefer support local than a chain like JoAnne’s, but I’m very disappointed with Quilters Corner’s repair services. They not only took months to get me the machine back, but they made it worse and charged me for it. My machine from 1999 one day last year stopped grabbing the bobbin thread. I brought it in for repair in early December and didn’t get it back until mid-March after having to call multiple times for updates. They said they couldn’t figure out the problem but were trying different things. After 2 months I asked on the phone if they were planning to charge me for all the time it sounded like they were spending on the machine — if in fact they were trying different things. They said no, they wouldn’t charge me unless they fixed it. Finally in March I got it back, and they were not able to fix it. They charged me $ 60. I assumed my machine was a lost cause until just recently I mentioned to a friend the bobbin problem and they asked if I was using the right bobbin for my machine. I wasn’t sure about this but certainly would expect this would be the basic thing for Quilters Corners or any repair service to check. I looked at all my bobbins and noticed some were wider than others. I switched the bobbin in the machine for a wider one and it grabs the thread now no problem! But now the machine doesn’t sew — it gets clocks and is rattling which it never did before I took it in for repairs. Needless to say, I spent $ 60 and my machine wasn’t fixed, but is actually worse than it was before. I’m going to take it to JoAnne’s because I think it’s the only other repair shop in town.

Quilter’s Corner is such a great shop… they have a huge selection of really fun fabrics and any quilting/sewing supplies you could need. The ladies who own the place are wonderful, always friendly and very helpful! And the classes they offer are great also. This store is fabulous, I’d recommend it to anyone in the Ithaca area!
