Quick, easy breakfast spot that’s decently priced with large portions. I had the omelette that came with toast, and it tasted good. Nothing out of the ordinary or exceeded expectations, but it’s a good place.

Loved this place! Went there two mornings in a row for breakfast. The portions are large, service is good and friendly. This is a hometown diner. No grease! The homefries were potatoie and delicious. Western omelet was fabulous. Pancakes were huge! Wish they had real maple syrup! I will go back again and again. The diner is right near Ithaca College on South hill.

Really delicious brunch food for a decent price! All the omelets were under $ 10. My friends and I got a corner seat next to the patio so we got a beautiful view of the lake and Cornell. I did the make my own omelet and the food came out within 10 minutes. I will definitely come back again! One of the best brunch places in Ithaca.

Kind of pricey, but love the food and the view. Don’t forget to get a jar of coffee for your table — the best coffee I’ve ever had in Ithaca!

Waited a bit to get served but once we ordered our food came quickly. We all ordered egg dishes, which were all delicious. Defiantly recommend for breakfast.

Great ffod. Friendly service. A bit tricky to find — it’s behind the Sunoco gas station ip on the hill. Bacon blue cheese burger was great. My friend loved the meat loaf.

Subpar diner food. The food comes out extremely fast. Fantastic view of Lake Cayuga and Ithaca. Pancakes tasted like an Aunt Jemima mix. Omelette was tasty and very standard. Breakfast potatoes were not good at all.

This is a great find during our visit to Ithaca. It is on a hill so you can see Lake Cayuga in the distance when you sit on the deck. The food was very good. I especially loved the Duck Wings with the Asian Sauce. It is more meaty and flavorful than chicken wings and I loved the crispy skin. The portions are huge! For our family of 2 adults &2 kids — 10&8 year olds, we probably could have ordered 3 entrees instead of 4. My steak tacos were filled with rare steak and a cilantro vinaigrette slaw. My husband’s Gyro was more like a gyro salad with lots of lettuce and feta cheese. Even the side salad is more like the typical full-size salad at other restaurants. Note, this restaurant only serves breakfast and lunch. That’s a shame since you can catch a beautiful sunset on Lake Cayuga from the deck.

Great service. We were treated when we walked in, seated on the deck that has a view of Lake Cayuga and got our coffee and omelette scary fast. We both had the bacon and mushroom omelette which comes wrapped in the bacon. If every omelette with bacon came that way, the breakfast world would be a better place. The coffee was a little weak, but typical for a diner. I can imagine this view as sunset wince we were on this side of the lake last night and it was lovely. They bring in a good crowd. Since the colleges were out, getting in at 915 wasn’t a big deal. Next week, it’ll be a different story.

I had been here before and loved it but this time we sat at the counter and watched them work! Now not only do I love it but I have a real appreciation for their fresh ingredients, homemade dishes and their attention to detail. My friend had the homemade corned beef hash and declared it the best! Not too salty, real homemade roast beef. Perfect marbled rye toast to accompany. I had the eggs Benedict. Perfect poached eggs, lovely asparagus and ham. I had the hollandaise on the side which was cold but excellent. We told them that it was cold and he said he was afraid to reheat it because it would separate. We told him to just nuke it but he lovingly gentle heated it in a pan. It was fun to be in a high energy crowd but not feel ignored or rushed. The view is amazing! Put this on your list!

While waiting for my dog to have surgery at the local Cornell University, I got hungry and saw this place on my Unilocal app. It had good stars so I figured«why not?» OMG — it is SOOOOOOOGOOD!!! Relaxed atmosphere and great food! Waitresses are so friendly, giving me directions to the nearest shopping district as well. And they have a really amazing view of the scenery. Definitely a place I would love to return to… And recommend to everyone!

Stumbled upon this place in the drive around Ithaca. Glad we did stumble. The food portions are a good size and the price was reasonable as well. I ordered the gyro and it was nicely done. The gyro is made with lamb and this was nice as so many other places make it with beef. These other places probably call it a «ji-row». I went with the side of fries and was pleasantly surprised that they were steak fries! The service was fine — friendly, but a bit slow. I did find the food tasty; however, a bit too salty. The server only checked on us once and near the end of our meal we had to ask for beverage refills. I went with the water and likely one other person did not drink their water so I took advantage of the unused water. The view is awesome and if you can get outside seating, go for it. I rated a 4 because of the slow service and mainly because the food was a bit too salty. Overall, I was not disappointed that I stumbled upon Sunset Grill.

Love love love me some Sunset Grill! This is my favorite breakfast spot in Ithaca and it had never failed me yet! You might think about skipping out, because the outside looks like nothing special and its next to a gas station/Rogan’s and a liquor store. DON’T BEFOOLED. it’s fantastic.(Also, don’t be cooked by the name. While it’s called sunset grill, the restaurant is only open for breakfast and lunch. Apparently it used to be open for dinner back the day.) The view is fantasticand if it’s one of the two days out of the year when Ithaca had nice weather, sit outside! Things to try: Bomber Plate. I forget what’s on this, but I remember it being something like, eggs, home fries, bacon, sausage, gravy… and some other things. Either way, IT’S GOOD. corned beef hash: YES. so delish. ANYOMELETTE! I’ve never had the pancakes, but my friends have. The portions are big and they say they’re good. Service is always good, just watch out for Saturday and Sunday mornings during the academic year, otherwise there will be SOMANYIC students(I would have been in this crowd myself) so if you don’t like loud college students or crowds, stay away on those dates. But I wrote recommend just waiting it out, because this place is that awesome.

I had a very bad experience there =(. I heard it’s a nice place to have brunch, so went over with friends this Sunday. It did look like a very popular place and we waited for 20 minutes to get a seat. The service was very very sloooowwww… I waited forever for getting one set of silverware… The food came way too slow and the waiters just barely served us anything at all… The food was okay but we just couldn’t enjoy it after waiting for so long. We got the Bacon Mushroom omelet, sausage bagel sandwich and a banana pancake. They all tasted good and worth to try if you actually decide to go on a Sunday morning regardless the long wait…

Friendly service and great view of Lake Cayuga. The food is fresh and high quality. Their pancakes and waffles can be ordered with REAL maple syrup. It is an extra charge, but truly worth it. Local spot near Ithaca College.

Surprisingly okay. I’d never even heard about this place and luckily I checked Unilocal before heading off to this place. It’s quiet and the food is decently priced with large portions. If you’re just looking for some classic diner food in Ithaca, this is definitely one of the places I’d check out. Service was good too. Just don’t be creeped out by the fact it’s in the middle of nowhere forestland in some random and slightly sketchy looking log building right next to a liquor store.

Situated by Ithaca College, this place has an awesome view looking out over all of Ithaca. I would say it is more like a diner than a grill though. They make decent omelets, cinnamon buns, waffles, pancakes, etc. Nothing is great but nothing is bad either. They also have standard dinner fair such as salads, entrees and various fried foods. If it weren’t for the view I would probably not come back, but its a cozy place to hang out with friends over a no frills weekend brunch.
