I love the NewYork Cheesecake at Café Jennie’s. Since, I am so hooked on to it, every time I go there, that is the only thing that I buy. So my review is going to be as _cheesy_as it can get! The flavor is spot on & the cheesecake just melts in your mouth, just the way it should. Now, I have had cheesecakes elsewhere on the campus and some of them tend to be lumpy here and there. Not the Cornell Store one though. The texture is smooth and very light. Makes a nice treat-myself piece during hard exam+assignments weeks. Ambience: 4.5÷5. well-lit place in the middle of Cornell store. I would like to sit down and eat sometime. But, I almost always go for a take-away box between classes Cost: 3⁄5. Slightly on the pricey side, so you may not be able to treat yourself with a piece of cheesecake as much as you’d like. But, it is hearty meal in itself, if you have a sweet tooth and a soft spot in your heart for cheesecakes Service: 5⁄5. Super quick service. Not just boxing the pre-made cheesecakes, I have noticed other friends who have ordered coffee, wraps and others and the staff are quick to get the order done in about a few minutes. Taste: 5⁄5(Can i put 6⁄5?) Smooth and light, puts you in a good mood instantaneously and makes you not want to share it with anyone! Now, this is only about the cheesecake. When I am out of my cheesecake addiction and try other food stuff, I will write more!

A university store like this one should be at least half books. The delegation of books and magazines to a very tiny(maybe 10% portion) of the store is embarrassing for a institution that purports to serve as a major site of higher learning. The absence of books is all the more alarming in that Ithaca lacks a truly intellectual independent bookstore of the caliber of the Harvard Book Store in Cambridge, the Seminary Co-Op in Chicago, Labyrinth in Princeton, or Book Culture in NYC. The proliferation, instead, of athletic gear, logoed accessories, and electronics speaks to the Cornell Store’s baser priorities.(On the plus side, the few books and magazines that are available here are relatively well-curated.) Of course, part of the problem may be the limited space the store has in its awkward home under a grass-and-concrete bunker in the middle of Cornell’s campus. The university should consider relocating it to a more prominent location — maybe in Collegetown or Downtown Ithaca, where it could function as a retail anchor like the Harvard Coop in Cambridge or other Ivy peer bookstores at Yale, Brown, and Penn. Café Jennie, the eatery inside the store, is one of campus’ better eateries, though, and shouldn’t be judged by the store’s failures.

Café Jennie’s is literally a classy sit-down restaurant in the middle of the bookstore. They give you silverware. Basically has a monopoly over Cornell merchandise(and is priced like it). Otherwise mediocre. Much more of a gift store than a book store, and managed by goons.
