I love going to this bar! It is a cool atmosphere where you can meet a wide variety of people from students to parents to professors and people staying at the hotel on business. It is this social atmosphere that helps make this a special place. This is a teaching bar which I like because the bartenders are well trained and they have a great list of creative drinks. And I am pleasantly surprised that the staff remembers me and always welcomes me back. It is clear that they really love what they do. I can’t wait to go back!

Decent cocktail bar at the Statler. We ducked in mostly because it was raining, and it was kind of cool to get a cocktail here, something I never could have done as a student, for a variety of reasons. I had the Bitter Suite(Michter’s Rye, Amaro Nonino, and bitters) and it wasn’t bad at all. The cocktails are made by students from the hotel school and the guy making our drinks was a friendly fellow. Pretty cool experience for them.

Really not too impressed. I realize college students are learning here, but even clueless high school students could provide better service and experience. The bartenders are actually somewhat good, and are fast to make you a drink if you can get in to the usually quite crowded stool area. Otherwise, you are left to sit at one of the many tables where you may or may not get table service. The last time I was in, a server was walking around and appeared to take orders from a couple other tables, but she made eye contact with me several times and never approached my table. So, I placed my order at the bar. They have minimal beers on tap and a few craft bottle offerings, plus a minimal selection of liquor to make mixed drinks. They have a few signature cocktails on the menu but we haven’t tried any of them. The food menu has quite a few things to choose from, but they have all been losers in my experience. The poutine could be good if they actually put enough on it so 50% of the fries weren’t bone dry. The chicken fingers seem to come out the same way every time no matter what kind of sauce you ask for, and they always forget something important like silverware, condiments, etc. If you happen to want a drink and not want to leave campus, I guess you should go here. I don’t recommend the food, and I do recommend that you have a high level of patience and be willing to ask over and over for order corrections, table service, etc. The bar can also get quite loud.
