I have been writing reviews for Unilocal for a very long time and during my time as a fair and reasonable reviewer, I have never listed an establishment with 1 star… that was, until today. I am a former US Marine who enjoys to hunt and ride ATV’s. Bishop’s Motel is a «crash pad» located near several ATV trails in Jackman, ME. Several months ago, I reserved a room for the entire week. However, I was later injured which rendered me unable able to ride an ATV. As a result, and per the company policy, I gave 48 hours notice of cancellation. I was told by the front desk that I would not be charged for the room. Even though I wasn’t able to attend the trip, a large group of friends continued up to Maine and stayed the week at the Bishop’s Motel. It was during this time that I received a phone call from a friend, who was on the trip, stating that the owner was very upset that I canceled my reservation only 2 days before the trip. The owner was described as belligerent and was threatening to charge me for the entire week, despite my 48 hour cancelation. After receiving the news, I made a phone call directly to GLENN L. LEVESQUE, principle owner of Bishop’s Motel, INC to resolve the issue. The man was definitely rude, grandiose and in my opinion, his slurred and labored speech was indicative of being intoxicated. He went on to say that he was going to charge me for the entire week and that there was nothing I could do about it. After realizing that he couldn’t be reasoned with, I hung up and refuted the fraudulent charges directly with the bank. DONOTTRUSTTHISESTABLISHMENT. ITIS A SCAM! BUYERBEWARE! GLENN L. LEVESQUE purchased the property on July 1st, 1989 for $ 59,000 — After all of this time, he continues to rip honest and hard-working people off. His ARTICLESOFINCORPORATION were not filed until December 19, 2002 — Thirteen years after the property purchase… Where is the accountability between this discrepancy? You do the math… SOURCE: Public Records. Freedom of Information Act.
