My family and I were driving back from vacation in GA to IN. We decided to pull off the road for the night and were looking for a place to grab dinner near our hotel in Caryville, TN. Luckily for us this gem of a place was a couple miles down the road. As we pulled into the tiny little place I have to admit, my expectations were low. However, once inside I was greeted by a super friendly staff and the smells of the sweet homemade dough brought back some excellent NY pizzeria memories. The place is small, but welcoming and our dinner was prompt. We started with the Greek salad which was excellent and full of mixed greens, olives, onions, feta, and peppers. The single salad was more than enough to start the three of us off, but our pizza awaited. We ended up ordering large 15″ half meatball Parmesan and half veggie. The meatball side had cut up meatballs, Parmesan and ricotta cheese. The veggie side was overflowing with green and black olives, spinach, onions, mushrooms and a few other items. The crust tasted as good as it smelled when I first entered. After two pieces we were all quite satisfied and decided to take the rest back with us to Indiana. We were way full, but if you need dessert, there is an ice cream shop attached to the pizza restaurant as well. If you live near here or need a place to stop 2 miles off of I-75, I HIGHLY recommend Ougots Pizza. You will not be disappointed. Buona mangia!!!

Last night I had a meal from Ougots Pizza that blew my mind! Im a native New Yorker and I’ve lived in Tennessee for the last 6 years. I had a Calzone last night that brought me back to NY. It was stuffed with meat and cheese and herbs that were fresh and the crust was perfect and buttery and crisp. It was honestly twice the size and half the price of what I would get in NY and honestly tasted better. I was also blown away at how nice the owner Stefano was. He gave me a free pizza to sample and OMG! it definitely was NY pizza. I usually don’t post things but I wanted people to know about this hidden gem. So please if you get a chance stop by and grab yourself something to eat. If you’ve never been to NY this is your chance to instantly be taken there without ever leaving TN.
