If 6 stars was possible on Unilocal i would give this place 6 stars. First of all the combos here are ridicolous, If you get any combo with fried rice or french fries OHMYGOD it is so worth it either way. Once you enter the place of course its not going to be all 5 stars and what not but that doesnt matter to the person who cares only about the food and fast service like me. I always get number 3 with Fried Rice. Comes with Whitning fish, scallops and shrimps all for just 5 bucks. The most expensive plate i think runs around 7 bucks which is cheap for fish. Every fish here is fried if you get the combo but it is so delicious and so worth the cheap price plus the soups are good also and they have a big selection of fresh seafood such as oysters, clams etc. Pretty much anything you get here is perfect and fried to perfection. Plus their tv is always playing an awesome movie.

We order no. 5, the Flounder & chips. It’s Very tasty, but not exact the British style fish & chips we were looking for.

Always came here for fried porgy and French fries as a kid. This place has changed a couple of times and they used to have a much bigger selection of fresh fish but the food is still consistently good as I remember so I always return. I guess selling fresh fish didn’t pay the rent like fried goodness did

How could you not give this place 5 stars?! If you are in the mood for fried fish, all different types of fish, then this is the only place I would recommend to anyone. All the combination dishes come with fries or rice and some lime wedges. Every table has 3 huge containers of hot sauce, ketchup, and tarter sauce that you can use as much as you want. The place makes delicious fried fish that is not greasy at all plus everything is fairly inexpensive! The employees here are very nice as well!

A bit too greasy for me. Comes out really hot and fried on the spot. Nice staff.

Fried seafood(and chicken wings) done fresh and fast for $ 6 – 8 with rice or fries. Ordered a fish, shrimp, and scallop combo with fries(#3) for $ 6. Everything was thrown in the fryer after I ordered and was done in less than 5 minutes. Fish came out great, crispy outside with a moist inside and not overdone so that the fish is mushy. Shrimp wasn’t rubbery although the breading didn’t adhere that well. Most surprisingly was that the scallops were not overdone either. A lot of places that are much fancier than this place will overcook their scallops but this place did it very well. The portion size for the single order could probably be split comfortably between two people. Standard condiments are available(ketchup, hot sauce, and tartar sauce) at the tables and also packed with takeout orders. Overall a great experience and will be back when the urge for fried fish calls.

this place is great for fish. only place i know in the area that cooks the fish and serves it with a side of rice or french fries. my only recommendation is if they can actually have corn on the cob or vegetables on the side and have a grill so people that want grilled fish instead of fried fish. they would get a lot more customers for just say ing that they can have grilled salmon or grill white fish. great place though overall. I go all the way to Harlem just to have grilled fish and they run a good business out there. Not sure if they read their own reviews but having grilled fish or telling everyone that you grill fish would attract a lot of new customers by a lot more.

Fresh Fried Fish Heaven! This is one of Jackson Heights hidden gems! Best fish shack in the area. I love this place! You simply have to come and try it. I recommend their fried flounder combo that comes with fried flounder filet and Asian fried rice or fries or the Fresh fried Tilapia(not the breaded one, but the one where you choose the fish and they deep fry it for you). You can also get the Fisherman’s stew! It’s pretty good with chunks of assorted veggies. Oh! And did I mention that it’s super cheap??? Most meals under $ 8, cash only though! Can’t beat this deal!

It’s essentially a fried seafood shack. It’s not pretty, it’s not fancy, it’s cheap and quick seafood. The Korean lady in the front is nice. It’s a quick eating spot, there is a long counter on both sides of the restaurant where you eat along the wall or a island that fits around 10 people. It’s a very humble working class restaurant. The food: Soup– it’s pretty much a Fisherman’s stew. It’s fish chunks with assorted vegetables, it’s actually pretty good. It’s filling, warm and flavorful. Flounder with rice– I was kinda surprised how much I enjoyed the flounder, I would definitely get it again. It was fried nicely and the fish was firm and meaty. There are tabeslide condiments of tartar, hot sauce and ketchup. The rice was just rice, think I will try a flounder sandwich next time.

No frills fish spot on Roosevelt. Real cheap prices. Cash only. This could be a regular lunch spot considering how inexpensive this place is.

You know what, I have nothing to say about this place. I think you guys just have to come and try! It’s excellent and one of the best seafood join in the area. It’s perfect seasoning and excellent price. Overall I highly suggest this place to everyone. It’s small and clean. Also friendly service.

I’m a regular here. I usually get the flounder sandwich to go. It’s a large piece of fresh fish cooked in a fryer served on two pieces of wheat bread with a couple of lime chunks. I apply both the tartar and hot sauces thrown in with the order and add a dill pickle from my own home fridge to munch on. I’m hooked. The whiting sandwich is significantly cheaper(it’s tasty, too) but I usually get the flounder unless I’m skrimping that week. The place is always packed and the woman working the register is always in good spirits. It is indeed fried food — so you can only eat here so often — but I get regular cravings for the sandwich and can’t stay away for more than a week or two at a time.

I will say the food was cheap. Was it as great as all the 4 or 5 star reviews boasting of it nah not to me. I have had better fried seafood in Harlem and Bed-Sty. I liked the scallops but not fond of the breading mix. To me the was bit to heavy and tasteless. The shrimp had a weird not to fresh taste to me. It was masked by the oil used to fry in. Fish was ok that me and my guess had. She has eaten fish from Hong Kong and was not impressed with the varieties or types offered. I would give 2 stars for food. I gave 3 as the service was fast cashier was friendly and the place was clean. I do not think I will make a trip there again.

It definitely took me a while before I decided to venture into JFM. It used to focus more on selling *fresh* seafood and has recently morphed into the only spot in Elmhurst/Jackson Heights where you can get your fill of Americanized fried seafood goodness. The meals are deals — most under $ 8. The selection is a bit limited though(a couple types of fish, shrimp, scallops, fries) when compared to other fish places that decided at some point to install deep fryers.(No fresh calamari :(although, they serve soup!) JFM’s is definitely a good quick-fix spot(keep in mind that it’s definitely NOT higher-end quality so one should not expect Chip Shop/Molly Blooms/A Salt & Battery meal here.) where you can hang under the tracks and chow down on fried goodness while watching free cable.

Love it, the lady in the cashier is always pleasant, and so is the server wonder if that’s Jose! smiling cause he is cashing in the money chin chin:). I was here with my boyfriend and he was sweating under his suit. The he states fish soup makes me «horny» and I reply is that so freak well I have the fried fish with rice so I can’t agree with your aphrodisiac food claim. I have since converted to the fish soup but not for its aphrodisiac claim but because of the white fish chucks inside but the biggest contributing factor is that now I’m a broke biitch on a budget.

I had stumbled into this place on a friday night in search of something different. i originally wanted to go find a steam-table type of a hispanic place, but im glad i came in here and ate. the atmosphere has the smell of fried fish. AFTERALL, ITIS A FRIEDFISHPLACE. as much as it is confusing to see the sign outside and come in here and see two korean ladies taking care of you at the counter, the quality and the taste is pretty much straightforward, and good! i had the whole fish(tilapia) and fried rice special for 6 dollars, and i must say ITWASHELLUVAGOOD. the fried rice was subtly flavored but not greasy, and the fish had its head and bones intact. props to them for feeding me a fish dish that is unmistakeably fish — but if you like your fish to be filleted, they have that too. i just have a largely huge preference for whole fish since most fish here in the united states is served in «non fish shapes» my 6 dollar meal, lasted me 2 meals — i ordered it to go, but ate the first half in the restaurant(so i can take the rest home) and had the leftovers two days later and it was still good! i never learned to finish the american sized portion, and i never want to. saves me money and keeps my beer belly trim! this place is almost right under a subway stop, so if you are in the nabe, drop by and eat fish. its good for you!
