No ethics whatsoever! A bakery or restaurant should be totally honest about ingredients. I asked on two separate occasions whether alcohol was used in their cakes or not. The first time a lady told me no. So I bought it. I came back for another one months later and this time there was a sweet guy working the counter and he told me yes alcohol was added to it. If I wasn’t in a hurry I would have ripped them a new one. As a food establishment, be prepared for these questions! Hopefully no one with allergies dies there from false information! By the way, the cake was dry, overly sweet, and plain boring. Not as good as it looks. Way overrated and overpriced.

I’ve been here a few times in the near past. The workers are very kind but very two faced. Food is ok. My biggest concern is my ex called Letys because she wanted to know what am I doing over there. They invited in to the café and showed here videos from the security camera about me. This is outrageous. This is illegal. No one has rights by law to do such a thing. Also this is very rude because I’m spending my money over here and they do that behind my back. They asked my ex not to tell me but she did. So this place is lost a another few costumers because non of my friends trust Lety’s anymore. :-(

Lety’s is a fantastic bakery! Amazing flan — I think possibly the best Ive ever had! Very affordable too. Everyone behind the counter is so nice which these days is more important than ever.(Attitude is a no go for me these days.) You go when and order your coffee there’s not a lot of fuss, they give it to you right away. They also have sugarfree cookies which my mother adores. I really love this place.

I went in to Lety’s today to buy an assortment of goodies for a dinner party. It was not busy yet my order was completely messed up. I ordered a mini cheesecake, tiramisu, fruit Napoleon, four mini cannoli’s and four chocolate macaroons. What I received was a mini cheesecake, tiramisu, four mini éclair sand two chocolate macaroons. I didn’t think to check my order considering I go there frequently. Needless to say I was highly disappointed when I arrived at my party missing one item completely and was given wrong items … Good thing Martha’s was close to where I was at. Thankfully I could run and get what I needed from them …

It’s a cute little shop with a bunch of older patrons inside. The place is best suited for people who live really close by. Everything looked amazing but the items I got were just OK. The food: Carrot Cake– I am not normally a fan of carrot cake, but the one here was really good. The cake was so light and moist. This was a very popular seller the day I was there. Italian Cheesecake– The cheesecake was OK, but a tad grainy, the flavor was OK. Strawberry Shortcake– I wasn’t crazy about this, the shortcake wasn’t really moist and it didn’t have that lightness I associate with shortcake, the shortcake did look amazing, though.

I ordered a tres leche birthday cake and instead discovered during the celebration I was sold a fruit cake. Far from delicious.

YUM! Have to say I’m never disappointed when I come here. I do enjoy their desserts and coffee. Try their flan, it’s really good. Small and basic bakery but their treats do please.

I only came in for coffee with my friend on a super cold day. She treated me to a hot coffee here. I felt the vibe was computer laptop working and elders enjoying coffee. The place has a total of ten or twelve seats, so not great for large groups. When I visited, it was early in the afternoon. The ladies behind the glass taking orders were friendly. I also came here to buy a pound of Italian cookies which my coworkers at work inhaled… yes, there was not one cookie left, not even for the person who brought them in! So I guess I have to come back and try the cookies. I also had been to a neighbor’s housewarming party who had Lety’s cheesecake and berry tarts which were divine. Note: there is no bathroom, so watch your intake of caffeinated beverages, but hey there is a Starbucks down the street(2 blocks down).

Delish! Everything we try is absolute perfection. Try the Italian cheesecake and the Russian cookies. Very, very good.

Their cheesecakes are delicious(but Eileens will always be #1 in my heart)! What I do love is that they put FRESH fruit on their cheesecakes — none of that candied-fruit nonsense. Tiramisu could be more moist/espresso-y and their pignolis could use a little more almond paste… but for the price, consider me a happy camper!

Everything looked delicious! I tried the blueberry, raspberry and almond cheesecakes and they were great! The fruit was fresh, they were light and not that sweet! I need to try their lobster tail next time since it’s so famous!

This bakery is fantastic! I had no idea it was only a few blocks away. I got the cheesecake, flan, Mille feuille and the strawberry shortcake. It was delicious, even better than some places in the city and the price was reasonable. I will be back.

I love this little bakery! Go here not crazy over priced Starbucks for quick service by pleasant people. The coffee is always good as are the baked items and there is a little seating area for customers to relax and enjoy their food. My day feels incomplete if I don’t stop in every morning on my way to work.

I’ve had various goodies here – the Russian tea cookies, the chocolate-covered strawberries, the cannolis – but what keeps me hooked is the mini cheesecake with rasberries on top. The syrup glistening on the tangy rasberries; the soft, creamy, inviting cheesecake… so deliciously decadent, it hits all the sweet spots. You must take the word of someone whose lifelong weakness is cheesecake. This week I had it three times – and I don’t even feel bad about it.

The ‘lobster tail’ pastries are out of this world good. Try one and then try not to go back for another! Everything else we’ve ever gotten here is fresh and excellent.

A long-time staple in the neighborhood which doesn’t disappoint. Very homey and comfortable feel. I love mom and pop businesses and I am always happy to frequent and cater to them vs. the big, mega corps. I haven’t had a lot of their pastries here, nor am I a coffee drinker, but I can vouch for the cheesecakes here, which are decadently good. I am pleased about their free Wi-Fi policy they offer to their customers; such a big plus. The only other thing I’ve had here is their gelato. Eh. Not particularly memorable. Just come in for the cheesecake, folks.

Still an amazing and delicious bakery. The quality has not down hill over the last five years of my time in JH. The coffee is also superb and how is it possible that all the staff are always so sweet? By the way, there is a reason that the pastries are always so well done – the husband co-owner used to be a baker at Veniero’s Pastry Shop in the east village(one of the best classic Italian bakeries in the city). Again, I feel so lucky to have this bakery in the neighborhood.

I really dig this place. It’s one of the few remaining classics of the neighborhood. Upon entering, I’m immediately filled with a warm and fuzzy nostalgia of the days of my childhood. The regulars are clearly the old-timers that have been living here for thirty plus years. That alone keeps me coming back. And the lobster tails. The sweet, sweet lobster tails. Enormous, fresh, and delicious, there’s nothing else quite like this crispy puff pastry. Crunchy on the outside and filled with airy homemade whipped cream, they are sure to impress anyone who isn’t familiar with them. They’ve certainly saved me from the dog house on more than one occasion with my spouse, lol. Whenever I go to Abuela’s, I get a pound of their butter cookies, of which there’s a great variety. When they ask if you want rainbow cookies as well, say yes. Always, always say yes. Their flan and cheesecake are pretty good, and sometimes they have chocolate covered strawberries. One thing that sets Lety’s apart from other bakeries is their gelato. I don’t know of any other bakery that serves gelato, let alone the variety they have. I love that this bakery serves the Jackson Heights community. I love that it’s a home base for the old school folks of the community. But I love their lobster tails most of all.

Stopped in here while on my way to to Laguardia to pick up my girlfriend. Thank goodness for Unilocal otherwise I would have missed out on a delicious lobster tail. I didn’t even know what they were until I read some reviews. It was delicious and would be exactly what I imagine it to be. It’s basically a pastry stuffed with whipped cream. It was amazing. The dough was flaky and on point. The filling was just sweet enough and dense so it made it a great pairing with the light dough. It weighed much more than I would have thought when I initially picked it up. I’ll definitely have to be back!

Went to this café to have some coffee. Their latte is okay. I ordered a mini plain cheesecake and it’s good! For only $ 5.50, I enjoyed staying in this café. It’s a great deal and I would definitely come back to try other pastries!

I’ve been to both locations, and they are both quite good. This one has a nicer interior. Pastries all taste fresh and the prices are pretty good. Haven’t had the gelatto, but maybe next time.

Love love this bakery! I finally found a place that makes authentic flan which reminds me of childhood. Im a huge cheesecake fan, and their raspberry cheesecake my first time trying was perfection, the second time it was not so fresh and was a tad stale, still yummy just not as great as the first time. Their lobster tail is always amazing, my bf usually gets the tiramisu and some other stuff which he thinks are great he also loves the flan. I did not give them 5 stars because the evening we bought these(in the pic) I checked their closing time and they weren’t closing until 9 and it was not even 8 pm when we got there. I guess they were closing early and the young lady at the register seemed annoyed and was not very friendly, even though they hadn’t put the pastries away yet. I tried to make a joke to crack a smile but she ignored it and seemed to purposely be serious. I would have understood if we got there right at closing time, but according to their sign they still were supposed to be open so I was turned off by that. But other than that other times we have gone the girls are very polite and friendly, I guess just that one in particular is not.

I really should consider moving to Queens. Kudos to Jando for always having me at Queens’ events! A fellow Unilocaler recommended Lety’s to me awhile back. I never got a chance to visit here until recently. Apparently they are famous for the cheesecake. While I certainly enjoyed my strawberry cheesecake, the flan won me over! They have several tables so it is the best to have your order to go. Next time I am here, I will definitely have to try its gelato!

Gah! I love this bakery. It satisfies sweet tooth cravings. Light strawberry cake with whipped cream. Fresh and so delish. The flan is so irresistibly thick, creamy, sweetness. Good portions, great prices. Open late too.

When you are having a very stressful week and have depleted your refrigerator drawer full of dark chocolate, might I suggest stopping by Lety’s for half a pound of their Italian cheesecake and some of their tiramisu? Luckily, the girl with the big glasses couldn’t hear me correctly. Not half a pound(dear God), ahem, a slice. And yes, the tiramisu. The Italian cheesecake is really good. It’s lighter than the cheesecake you’d make from the cream cheese box or from Junior’s. The tiramisu is also really good. Big thumbs up. They lasted really nicely in the refrigerator drawer for a few days. Their coffee is also pretty decent.

Found this small bakery while eating in the neighborhood and came here for desserts. I tried the lobster tail, raspberry cheesecake and tiramisu. 1. Lobster tail– Like a long croissant filled with cream. This is delicious! Must try 2. Tiramisu– better than many other places 3. Raspberry cheesecake– it’s very dense and not smooth when you stick a fork through it… So I didn’t like it
