No longer in business… Owner had problems with paying rent due no enough repeat customers and extensive competition from all the restaurants in the area.

Clean, friendly, food was delicious… I came here with a groupon(great deal). Only complaint was it was a little slow, but they were understaffed.

Decent food. Very disappointing service. Placed an order for pickup and they hadn’t even started making it an hour after the order was placed and gave us some BS excuse that they didn’t get a phone call from .

I was here for an early buffet dinner on a weekend, since I heard it gets pretty crowded later on at night. I brought my 11 month son along with few others and I was quiet surprised how friendly the staff was and how nice and pleasant the ambiance was! The $ 11.95 dinner buffet included at least 4 chicken dishes(some more spicy than others) and 2 goat dishes, rice, chicken biryani, daal tadka, chana, aloo gobi, mattar paneer, lo mein(yes soft & delicious lo mein!), idli, dosa, naan, 3 dessert dishes. But what really stood out for me were pakora, sambar soup and muchroom/saag curry. I love hot spicy food, and so heat level wise it wasn’t up to my standard and that is the only reason why it lacks my fifth star, otherwise I love this place!

I’m very picky but especially with Indian food but their food is great only problem is not as spicy as it should especially since Indian food is supposed to burn your mouth off. The ppl I bring with me to this place always enjoy themselves. Even though im brown I don’t know about Indian food so its great that they have a buffet with variety so I don’t have to explain stuff. Décor is nice too it has a huge painting and other stuff but I’m a guy so I don’t remember

I bought the groupon deal $ 29 worth value $ 77. I went with my boyfriend. the bill with tax came out to be $ 66. At the moment I can not find out the deal worth 77 $. Then those wait or ask us to pay the tax$ 5. And my boy friend paid tip. It is a little bit disturbing. I did a groupon deal in flushing and that restaurant does not have problem with groupon. Omg, if you have problem with groupon why you do it. The lamb spiCy curry was a very small portion for me… it is $ 16.

Very friendly and attentive staff, excellent food(though I’ll be honest– I’m new to the Indian food genre and haven’t tried too many different places), and fun and welcoming atmosphere. Absolutely would recommend, and will stop by again when in the Jackson Heights neighborhood! I really liked the fresh garlic naan, but I really, really loved the rice pudding dessert…

disclosure: while i regularly shop at patel brothers for dry beans and tea, i don’t eat Indian out much. what i found remarkable about mumbai was their under $ 15(including tax&tip) weekday evening buffet, which includes a nice variety of dishes, that are not oily and seem more creamy than spicy in nature. everything looks clean in their dim light, service was fine, although midweek the place was pretty empty. this is probably the only indian restaurant who’s food does not upset my stomach hours later. mumbai may not be pretty, but it’s a great place for indian food newbies not to leave turned off by all that oily spicy smelly stuff served in many better indian eateries. so while i may not go back to mumbai to impress my friends, i will definitely return on my own to chow down on their good affordable grub.

Ordered several times through Seamless and found it to be good quality for the price. Can’t think of anything I haven’t liked. Usually I get a chicken dish and Saag Paneer. Sag Paneer always has a decent amount of paneer.(I find many places skimp.)

I’ve been to a good number of Indian restaurants in Jackson Heights including Jackson Diner, and Mumbai Grill has definitely outshined the others. I came with two very discerning friends who grew up in India and they both thought that some of the dishes were outstanding, including the chicken tikka masala, the methi malai chicken, the tandoori chicken and the rice pudding. Don’t come expecting five star ambiance — the five stars are for the food. I came with a large party of 9 and so I made a reservation(reservations aren’t really necessary) and they gave us really great service. They brought out fresh naan for us even though they had naan in the tray for the buffet. I’ll definitely come back when I’m in the area craving some Indian food. Apparently they have a weekend dinner special buffet with extra dishes for $ 11.99. Great deal.

I ate here after a Saturday morning Dhoonya Dance class in the city. The service was excellent, especially for a busy weekend lunch buffet. I never had to experience an empty water glass or table overcrowded by empty plates. A mushroom saag, onion uttappams, sambar, tandoori vegetables, and chicken dishes were noteworthy. Goat curry, unfortunately, tasted off. Done right, goat curry/curry goat is one of my favorite things in life. Too bad. The requisite Bollywood music videos kept me entertained but did not make up for some dry and overly oily chicken dishes. There are better buffets in the area. Desserts were a mediocre fruit custard and kheer, as well as a fruit salad containing sour watermelon. I am not planning to return anytime soon — not when I can get better quality buffet fare at Himalayan Yak or Delhi Heights.

Decent buffet. Everything was on the mild side, food was average, but the selection was good. Dinner buffet tonight included chicken tandoori, goat curry, butter chicken to name a few. I was quite satisfied with the variety of dishes to choose from. For $ 10.95, I got my fill. Service was adequate. However, the place was a sauna and the bathrooms were dirty. I heard the AC go on after 7 so maybe the air was on a timer. They added tip on my bill, but didn’t label it so watch out or you’ll double tip them.

I’m Asian so you can assume I know what I’m talking about here. I made a Unilocal account just to post about how awesome I think Mumbai Grill is. While a lot of their spread is very similar to the other local buffets in Jackson Heights, their quality is much better. Also, they usually have two desserts, a sweet coconut rice dish and a sweet orange, maybe yams?, with brown sugar dish. The differences in their buffet compared to others are noted below, with the dishes Indian names… Red Chicken Legs — About 1.5 times the size as other places and more spicy and moist Goat Curry — Actually has some goat meat instead of just having a bunch of goat bones like the other places I’ve been. Samosas — They actually have them unlike 90% of the other places Orange Chicken Sauce — Much spicier than the other places Paneer — I’ve had three different varieties of Paneer here and all had ample amounts of the cheese part Fried onion thing — This is the only place I’ve seen it Mini pancake — This is the only place I’ve seen it Naan — It’s a big piece of flat bread, kinda difficult to mess up I can’t remember the names of the other things I’ve eaten, but they follow the above principals. The foods here actually are infused with the spice flavor, as oppose to the spice flavor just wafting around bland food. From someone who generally can’t stand to eat most Asian food, this place is amazing. For less than ten dollars and AYCE, this place is outstanding.

Went with some friends on a mini dosa tour of various restaurants in the area, and I can say with no hesitation that the Shrimp Chilli Dosa was by far the best one of the 8 dosas we tried that night. I definitely want to come here again, if just for that chili shrimp.

One of the worst places to eat Indian food in Jackson Heights. This place is so horrible don’t know how is it still in business especially in such an ethnic neighborhood. We have tried the buffet and it’s seriously inferior in comparison to other like Delhi Heights or Jackson Diner… food is stale and tasteless. We bought some sweets. Gulab Jamun were very old and moldy inside. Ladoos were so hard felt like chewing iron. Save the trouble go elsewhere. This place is begging to be shutdown. They have been rated Grade B by the city for a reason!

I ordered food take out from this place. We got a pretty good amount of food for $ 100(after our 20% off coupon from Seamless) and it was pretty delicious for the most part. Some of the chicken dishes were kind of fatty and the goat curry, while probably the tastiest thing we ordered, has a lot of bone shards in it. It took a long time for the food to get to my apartment, but I’ll probably order from them again.

Got a Groupon $ 29 – 1 app, 2entree, 1 naan, 1rice, 2drinks(which meant soda-not impressed) Service was worst ever-had to laugh or else… Brought us a broken high chair despite having a working one in back, which another waiter got us. 1 guy was taking my plate before I finished but then when I was another guy wouldn’t take it though I had up to hand it to him! Food was ok. Wouldn’t go back!

I’ve gone to Jackson Heights all my life and somehow ignored many of the restaurants on 74th St. My friends from Bombay came from out of town and I showed them the Little India/Pakistan of New York and initially we were looking for just chaat and pakoras but how could you pass on a $ 11 buffet? They had about 15 – 20 dishes which included: chicken tandoori, chicken makhni, biryani, aloo gobi, channe, pakoras, sambar, gulabjamun and kheer just to name a few. All the food was really great and it was all halal! I definitely look forward to coming back earlier in the day to get the fresher!

This review is for delivery only. Their food is ok. Been to the restaurant a few times, so when ordering, we know what to expect. Every time we ordered online, they had us calling back for missing items religiously(mind you on top of the 1 — 1 ½ hours wait for the delivery first time around). First time we ordered, all the chutneys and raita boxes were crushed by the delivery guy. Soaked through the naans. Only 1 out of 3 rice came. Second time, we order 3 dishes, this time no rice was sent, dessert with the Mumbai Grill thaali forgotten, no papads or raita packed. Whatever chutneys they remembered to send, crushed by delivery guy. Third time, they decided to substitute a vegetarian grill platter for the non-vegetarian platter that comes with the Mumbai Grill thaali — the whole reason why it’s more expensive than the other thaalis on the menu. Needless to say, flimsy chutney & raita boxes. Fourth time, even better, they just forgot sending any platter with the Thaali. When we called, the owner tried convincing us he’ll send it next time(as if we want to order again) and then finally made the trip out. But on a brighter note, the delivery guy managed to deliver chutneys and raita without breaking open. With delivery service like this, and no exceptional food to want us going back for more, only way we’ll order again here is if all other restaurants are closed for the night.

This has to be my all time FAVORITE indian buffet, smack dab right in the heart of Jackson Heights. I usually come for the lunch buffet which is always yummy… they have tandoori chicken always!(extra star) 2 chicken dishes, 1 goat, 2 vegetarian, nan, a few side dishes, and yummy fruits. Anytime I get a lunch brake from class I always come here =) yummy!!!
