The pizza here isn’t awful but it’s also not mind-blowingly amazing… kinda hit or miss yanno? What goes in their favor is that they have a really interesting variety of toppings and combinations. They’ve got spinach, chicken, broccoli, pepperoni, sweet Italian sausage, the usual suspects really — but much more inexpensive than Manhattan(not counting $ 1.00 slices). The only slices I’ve tried here are the spinach one(I agree with Jennifer C. below, it is way too cheesy — totally can barely taste the spinach!), a slice with sausages(they use LOTS of meat) and a regular cheese slice(better cheese to sauce ratio than the other two slices mentioned here). Convenience is what has led me here multiple times, they’re so close to the train conglomerate on 74th and Roosevelt and sometimes when you’re getting home late with nothing in your belly but a sad lunch sandwich from noon — a simple pizza slice will do the trick — although personally I’d rather eat delicious food truck food… but sometimes you need your pizza fix. Not my fave in the neighborhood, not by a longshot, but still decent pizza and good, friendly service at any given time. I’d really say 2.5 stars but since I can’t do halfsies than 3 stars it is.

I’ve only tried their spinach slice which is pretty decent but not amazing. They haven’t mastered the art of balance as there is just too much cheese, which makes this somewhat«healthy» pizza selection, totally artery-clogging. It could also use a boost in flavor, as it is pretty bland without adding your own concoction of spices(garlic powder and hot pepper flakes does it for me). The space itself is pretty small but there is seating and it’s clean. This would certainly not be my «go-to» pizza place in Jackson Heights, but it is conveniently located by the Roosevelt Ave Station so that is a major bonus.

The pizza reminded me of the pizza shop in the hood when I grew up, it wasn’t great but it wasn’t bad. it was fairly sized but tasted like flour and tomato sauce. service wasn’t super great and I believe they gave me pizza that they refrigerated from the day before. there aren’t many other options in the direct area though. I’ve never seen anyone go in there but was curios and went in to support their business. I do believe that famiglia is going to take a lot of the light business that they have which sucks because I root for all mom and pop places…

One would think that with such a prime location Pizza Don Pizza would have a line out of the door for its pizza«deals.» The fact that it does not(even for its $ 5 for two slices and soda) should give passers by a hint of what awaits them inside. The good: Location, location, location. Being less than a block from a major transit hub has its perks.(Too bad for PDP that Famiglia is(still) coming to town with an even better spot!) The bad: It always gets me mad when business owners have all of the key components to make a financial killing but fail to deliver on its core item: pizza. Bleh! Really? Did I just give you money for that? And… why does the staff there have so many pies chillin’ out on the counter? The foot traffic here definitely does NOT justify the quantity of pre-made pizza that is usually on display. The ugly: Why so serious? For a mom and pop location, PDP is operated the most rigid and inflexible staff in the area. The staff here can be very dry and just rude to anyone that walks in. Definitely, proceed with plan B:(Louie’s: or Pizza Boy: )

I had little to no expectations for this place when walking in, just needed some late night pizza. First off, the pizza is pretty damn good — the selection varies depending on when you walk in, but they have a good variety and thick ingredients(no skimping on the meat). The chicken/broccoli is amazing and the pizza rolls are good too. A few dollars a slice, but they’re big enough that you only need two max to be full. Also — 4 garlic knots for a $ 1. For what it is, this place is nice — never too crowded, near the train, open late, and very good food. My go to pizza spot in the area.

The pizza is good and I thought I found a decent pizza place in my neighborhood, but I was really let down by the service. The place has a «special»: 2 slices and a can of soda for $ 5.00. When I ordered the«special» I didn’t see any soda that I wanted(I don’t drink High Fructose Corn Syrup or Aspertame, so I looked for a can of seltzer — none. So, I asked the manager on duty if I could substitute a bottle of soda. To my surprise, I was told«NO». Now, a bottle of water is priced at $ 1.00 and a can of soda is costs $ 1.25… Needless to say, the«manager» wouldn’t make the substitute, he gave me my money back, less $ 1(for the bottle of water I had opened). Epic Fail on service and«earning» a potential customer.
