I have ordered food from this place a few times lately and they are not the same superb restaurant as they were 10 years ago. Not only the quality of the food has gone down, but the last two times they made a mistake during takeout with my Mom’s food. The first time she specifically asked for the food not to be spicy, they made is very spicy! She was ill and was extremely sensitive to spicy food due to that illness. We ordered a few dishes today including a couple of vegetarian items. However, we just opened up the food and there was no vegetarian item whatsoever! My poor Mom, who is a vegetarian had to finally cook herself after she had a long, tiring day and not 100% recovered from her illness. The chicken with garlic sauce, fried rice and the chicken lollipop was a total joke! Me and my family will never, ever order food from here again! If you want good Indochinese food, don’t even think about ordering from here… your wallet and taste buds will make you regret it!

There is no zero star, else I would have given that. we were party of 5. I and my wife shared Hot and sour soup, that was really salty and off color. Chicken lollipop was dry. Main dishes were also not up to the mark. According to health regulations, you need to cover your hair when preparing or serving the food. The gentleman serving our food had long beard. He should seriously consider sporting a hair net.

One of the worst Indian restaurant. They charge extra money. Even they asked me to give them some tips. The Biriyani was old and I think they didn’t wash the meats properly.

Okey so, really this is a 4.5÷5 but I had to round down because of the décor. Ambiance: it’s just ehhhhh, but given that it was in jackson heights, i didnt have my hopes up or anything but i just wished that it had more of an indo-chinese feel instead of just heres a room with tables and chairs. the lighting was also weirdly low, i was struggling to read the menu and even used my phone to brighten the menu. Staff: A W E S O M E! so this part i was very pleasantly surprised, everyone there is so attentive. they filled up our drinks any time we were low and if we asked for any alterations with the food, they were more than happy to help us out. it seemed family owned, which ive seen is usually hectic in most cases with people just confused and running around, BUT this place was great. they knew how to make their customers feel welcome and taken care of. FOOD: ok ok ok, the GOODSTUFF. If i could give this a 10 out of 5, i would. the food was amazing and spot on. we asked for extra spicy, and boy was it hella spicy. maybe we shouldnt have done that but we brought it upon ourselves… so even if you think you can handle spices, no need to go EXTRA here, they know what theyre doing. its also nestled in jackson heights, a predominantly indian community, so the food is naturally adapted to their tongues– and its perfect. we got chicken lollipops(ask for it in the SAUCE), the dry ones didnt look so appetizing, but with the sauce — yum! my favorite was the mixed veggies and garlic chicken which i added baby corns to, naturally– since theyre the best. everything was amazing and wow, im craving it now. Price: even nicer! This place is seriously such a steal. we ordered 4 entrees and fried rice, our total was only about $ 40, if i remember quickly. It didnt hurt my grad student pocket, and left me a loyal customer. Will I be back? Um… really? You know I will be!

This restaurant doesn’t really top the charts when it comes to Asian Fusion cuisine. Especially when there are places like Sagar Chinese or Tangra Masala around. However, they do serve food of mediocre quality. It’s a nice little spot, and pretty good to enjoy dinner with family. I usually only come here to have their lollipop chicken, which is alright compared to the restaurants I mentioned above. I end up coming here only because it is closer to me than Sagar or Tangra. I also have had their grilled chicken platter, which is pretty commendable and their chicken tikka masala with white rice which is decent. It’s a nice affordable place to stop by if you’re around, I wouldn’t say its worth making a trip to.

Great family spot. Im addicted to the lolipop chiecken here, they have the best lolipop chickn I have ever tastted. Their mixed rice is soo good. Their chili sauce is unique. They have a good 50 percent off deal from mon to thursday for lunch. 11 to 3. By far the best indian chinese reastraunt I have ever tasted.

One of my favorite indo-chinese places. Their prices are good, food is spicy and flavorful and the portions are decent

I went there several years ago and hated the service. But I’m impressed that now their service is much better. The food has always been good. Also, glad that there’s no music being played — for those who want a completely halaal experience.

Awesome food but bad management and owner. The 3 times I went the owner was disrespectful and bad manor … Also people were talking about how they saw a mouse run under the table. These types of behavior and environment is making me hate Jackson heights more and more I defiantly wouldn’t recommend this place

The food was unnecessarily spicy to the point where it was annoying to eat. Asides from the spicy flavor, all the dishes lacked flavor so the hotness basically masked the fact that the dishes are all under flavored and bland. Mostly all the dishes are red and that’s simply because of the spicy cayenne pepper they probably use. I came here during the lunch hours where everything was 50% off so my meal was cheap but the food was so spicy and dull, that even with such cheap prices, I won’t be back again.

Meh. We got the chicken and broccoli and chicken tikka masala to try both the Indian and Chinese dishes. Neither were great and we could get better tasting versions at other places in the hood. Sauces were both thin and flavor was just eh. Edible but eh. Delivery was fast so that was nice.

I’m not sure why others have given so many stars… Food was horrible. I ordered Lollipop Chicken, Chili Chicken with Gravy and Szechwan Chicken Fried Rice. Lollipop chicken was so dry and small, no flavor at all. Chili Chicken flavor was horrible, no taste what so ever. Szechwan Fried Rice tasted so bad again no flavor. Total waste of $ 27. I wish people don’t put wrong review online. My money wasted!!!

Roland and the good food here both make you want to go there. It’s not always where you get both, good food and great service. Be careful as spicy is SPICY.

Ridiculously delicious! We had the cauliflower dish which I loved. The green coriander soup is nothing like I’ve ever had before, very unique flavors. the entrée was some of the hottest food in NY! I forget the name, it had Seabass, chicken, shrimp, onions, peppers, in this amazimg red sauce full of chili peppers and spice. if you’re into new things and tired of the rest of the Indian /Chinese food in town this is the place to be!

As a Chinese, I really enjoy Indian Chinese cuisine, which is the best oversea version of Chinese food in my mind. Having been to Talk of the Town several times and love most food here. Chicken 65, Lollipops, Beef Hong Kong, Manchurians, and soups are all delicious. What I don’t like very much is their Madras noodles which does not have much flavor. They also have good lassi. Service is OK, but it’s too dark inside the restaurant especially in the evening.

Had come here based on my sis in law recommendation and her treating us out. The soup was different, not as spicy as I’m used to for Tom yum but it was still good. we had ordered the dragon chicken and beef. Although they tasted the same, sauce wise, they both tasted very good and just enough of a kick with spice. Food was good, service could have been better.

This place has excellent Indo-Chinese food. 1) The chicken lollipop, pakora’s, sizziling skillets and sheekh kebabs are excellent. 2) The cost is reasonable. 3) The location is near Little India. So it is a convenient walk if you are around the area. 4) Service sucks. It is so bad that people do not tip, that is why they have automatic service charge.

We really enjoyed Talk of the Town. I’m not sure what other people are complaining about but while it is not a fancy white tablecloth restaurant it is very clean and comfortable inside. We started with the chicken lollypops which you dip in a cherry mayonnaise sauce. You get 6 of them so it is a great share plate. We also started with the paneer pakora, another great share plate, and the chili lamb(dry) appetizers. We tried the Madras Hakka noodles, which we felt were only so-so. We wouldn’t get them again as we prefer to get dishes made from wide noodles. For main courses we also had the Paneer Manchurian which was a fun indo-chinese fusion dish, as well as the assorted sizzler which was definitely the star of the show. It comes with a ton of meat so be prepared to either chow down or leave with leftovers. I would normally have rated this 4 stars, but they get an extra star for being the first place I’ve ever been with a strawberry lassi. I think more restaurants need something beyond the standard sweet/salty/mango options. Definitely going to come back here with a group, as the menu is completely halal and there are tons of vegetarian options as well.
