Maybe we went on a super slow night where they didn’t have much in stock but the chaat papri we wanted wasn’t available, neither were beef kebabs, neither was ras malai… the chicken karhai that had rave reviews on Unilocal was subpar at best, although it was prepared fresh and took about 25 mins to come out, it was bland, watery and not as flavorful as it should have or could have been. Quite disappointing. The server there though, was super efficient and quick to bring out the rest of our items and was friendly friendly and provided great customer service (rare in a desi restaurant in Jackson Heights).

Its always great place to fresh your lahori taste buds refresh… lovin NY soghaat …

I had to make an Unilocal account just to write a review for this restaurant because i had a really bad experience with it. First of all the food sucked! The food I ordered had to be sent back because it was smelling. Therefore I had to order something else but they didn’t have it, seems like most of the food on the menu are not available. And this guy, who I believe was the owner, was smoking the whole time, unconcerned about the situation. I didn’t want my kid there for a second. Then, when I was given the check they charged me half for the smelling food. I didn’t wanted to pay a single penny but I was sure I wasn’t going there ever again, so I paid without saying anything. One of the waitresses was very nice to us therefore I wanted to give tips to her from my card, but I found out that the tips were not given to them so she told me to give cash instead, but I didn’t have cash. I felt bad for her because she wasn’t even getting paid for her hard work. This restaurant is one of the worst ever. I recommend you not to go there.

The service: Could be better. The waiter was rude.
Food was late. She delivered half of it first and half of it ten mins later.
Price was– a little on the expensive side.
Food– Karahi was great. The meethai was terrible. Do not try it.
I was so looking forward to it. How ever I wish I had a better experience.

Their service is good but their food isn’t great. I live two blocks away from this place and trust me you won’t see me going back. The food is greasy and tastes like it’s been cooked for days. Haven’t seen this place packed in years! I’d pick Dera over this any day.

This place is barely clinging on to life. Have taken out from this place many times recently. Food is subpar. Stay clear of this place if you’re looking for authentic south eastern fare. Go to Kebabish, Kebab King or Sunshine for a good meal.

Ordered there twice for lunch, and both times the food was great. Very good Indian food in the area :)

How does a place like this have all those stars? The one star is for the very very hard working girls who should be working at a higher scaled restaurant. We had a party of 12 and ordered a lot of food. I noticed that they had the food already prepared, buffet style and they just put it into a plate and popped it in a microwave? The food wasn’t all that great. I enjoyed the naan but my butter chicken had like 4 pieces of small chicken in it. The chicken biryani was bland. I wish the food was better. The place was clean but not so busy at night.

How does one review a place that has a very polite delivery guy and not so appealing food?
I ordered almost thirty dollars of food and half the order was missing and the other has was spoilt.
They sent the missing half but my appetite was gone. The staff seemed friendly so that’s the plus point but basically I want good food first.
Now at 11.37pm, I’ll have a cup of tea and some biscuits and call it a day.
This was my second try here, I believe in giving any place at least two chances. Won’t be a third one.

Could not stop eating The naan and chicken karahi– perfect easy ambiance. Great place to entertain.

Dined out today with two friends today. Food was 9/​10, ambiance was 8/​10, service was ⁹⁄₁₀. Overall 8.5÷10. Would love to come and eat here again.

Tried this place for the first time. The service is wonderful, lots of attention, plenty of seating, and looks like they have a buffet during the day. But I went for dinner. The place was nearly empty. I ordered the goat biryani, spinach and potato, chick peas, samosa, naan, and carrot halwa. And I hate to give bad reviews but there was absolutely nothing here that I enjoyed. The naan is tasteless and flat, the meat tasted boiled, the spinach was dry, the chickpeas were oily, and the carrot halwa and samosa smelled like a rotting fridge, I literally spat out the halwa and had to rinse my mouth with sprite. The staff apologized and offered other desserts but I just couldn’t try anything else on their menu. I left and went to Sunshine a couple of blocks down for some satisfaction. The one star is for the hard working ladies in the place. Please improve your food!

Food was sub par. Service was good. We went during ramadan and it was busy. They have an iftar buffet. The people working that day did not know too much about the catering side of the business as that was what we were interested in.

A wonderful experience!
The staff were super friendly, courteous and helpful. They made a fresh serving of delicious chicken karhi specially for our table and served it from the stove! Great touch!
The venue was clean and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Will definitely be back.

Didn’t like the food. Had diarrhea after eating from here. Not going again

Unbelievable… I just went back to give this place another try and it’s 12:30 (lunchtime) and it is completely empty and the woman standing behind the counter was reading something and looked up at me and looked back down to continue what she was reading and totally ignored me. No wonder this place is always empty. Must be a front for something else cause they definitely don’t care about selling food. Never going back.

Price is reasonable, staff is friendly, food is authentic. What more could you want? Butter chicken and tandoori chicken (comes out sizzling) is good but I was told by the owner karahi is their specialty. I will definitely try the next time. Btw chai is classic also.

at taste of Lahore. We Love their Pakistani Food.

Nadeem treated us like family… (even though I am not Indian!) by the way Unilocal sucks if they don’t show this… Because everyone knows if you don’t pay them they hold businesses hostage. I hate Unilocal but love his place so I am still leaving a message

Last night, shortly after 9pm, our apartment door buzzer went off and my husband got up to investigate. He did not open the door, but watched through the peephole and saw one of Taste of Lahore’s employees ringing every other buzzer on our floor, dropping menus for Taste of Lahore when they didn’t answer. I wanted to confront the guy, but my husband wasn’t into that idea. So after this loser finished our floor, he went upstairs to the rest. (We could hear the buzzers in the nearby upstairs apartments too).
Who does this? Aren’t the piles of menus of menus in lobbies and menus shoved under doors enough — but this place has to disturb every single resident that was home last night?
Wasn’t interested in going there before, am certainly going to speak up about it now. Who wants to order delivery from somewhere that will harass your neighbors?
