I hesitate to be critical, but I’ve thought about this review for a long time and just have to say that I would not recommend for many reasons. I saw Dr. Maholtra for several years for botox injections every quarter, and he did do an ok job on those injections. But, then I had a tummy tuck. Terrible experience, starting with the poorly trained surgical center in Jackson that took 4 tries to get the IV started. Finally, a competent nurse came in and executed the procedure quickly and efficiently. I almost walked out at that. The worst was the terrible outcome. I have big ‘dog ears’ at the ends of the incision, a lopsided tummy, a bulge, and very uncomfortable feeling of tugging in my abdomen all the time. I pursued a ‘fix’ to this and was scheduled and then they called and cancelled — after I had scheduled the winter skiing season around the surgery — there is no downplaying that this is major surgery with big recovery time(and quite unsightly look). Anyway, I thought better of it and decided that if the doctor did such a poor job initially, it wouldn’t be in my best interest to trust my body to him again. He’s a nice person and so is his staff, but he just is not skilled at the tummy tuck operation — he was originally a hand surgeon. I’ve talked with several people around town and have heard questionable comments about his expertise. I should have done more investigation. I did ask to speak to previous patients for a recommendation, and as I look back on that — one person’s recommendation sounded just too good to be true, and the other person avoided talking with me. I should have realized that the unspoken ‘review’ spoke volumes! Dr. Maholtra seems safe for non-permanent procedures, but I really wouldn’t trust him with a scalpel.

I don’t typically write bad reviews but feel compelled to on this one. My wife has been getting Botox in her forehead for 2 years & tried Ann Arbor plastic surgery this time because it is closer than the doctor she usually goes to. Well, the doctor appeared to be in a rush, gave her 20 units in her frown lines(which is what she usually gets) and then 20 more units in her forehead. Afterwards, she called because if a massive migraine & told her that’s what they always give. She contacted her usual doctor & they said they only give her 4 units in her forehead. Now it’s been 3 weeks, her forehead is still sore, eyelids droopy on the corners, & she still has difficulty with forehead feeling like someone is pulling it down. Absolutely no movement. She called & they said it takes a couple times before the doctor knows your face & it’s movements! Horrible. I would not recommend this place for any Botox. She is miserable & there is nothing you can do but wait it out. They were more concerned about up selling than the proper procedure. I hope this helps anyone considering going here.
