Back in Jackson last week end, only to find sadly that the Café has closed… big loss!

Something is going on at Café de Coco, though I’m not exactly sure what. It’s been closed the past month with a sign saying they were on vacation and I’ve heard it’s for sale. Needless to say we would hate to lose it in Jackson. Apparently its current owners have decided not to reopen, for now anyway.

This is a really fun and cute place to eat. It has a nice clean, open, and welcoming feel. The service is really quick and friendly and willing to make food alterations for you. There are even several delicious-looking vegetarian options on the menu. I got the vegetarian papusas and they were SOGOOD! I will definitely stop here again when I’m in town.

I’ve been wanting to try this place for dinner for some time but the two times I’ve tried, it was closed. The first time we saw what appeared to be the servers outside smoking but in the 2 minutes it took to park, they had already put up the closed sign. That was about 7pm on a Saturday a few months back. I tried again a couple Saturdays ago but they were already closed at 6pm. I’m sure it is hard to fill this place at night when the rest of Main street is a ghost town. Perhaps the hours have changed? I may give it another try sometime, the menu looks really good.

I was visiting a friend and we found this place while shopping downtown and I am so glad we did! We ordered the quesadilla, a salad, and steak papusa(sp)…and it was all delicious! Great atmosphere inside with the decorations and the chips and salsa were soooo good! I wish I lived closer so I could go again. Glad we found this place! And the prices were great for the amount of food you get!

Sorry we weren’t able to eat here because the server told us she would get to us when she grew a third arm after we mentioned we would like tea. We didn’t think it was humorous and left to go to Rosebud’s. We’re glad we did. Pleasse remove the one star. I had to put it in to get the review posted.

Very friendly and inviting atmosphere. A little pricy though. We had breakfast and were amazed to have the place to ourselves on a holiday weekend. The food was delicious — just like home cooking. The location was awesome since it was in the heart of downtown Jackson on old Main Street. See the pictures of the very cool hot coffee drinks — they really like to show off their creativity! Refreshing to see City flair without the hussle & bussle.

Awesome atmosphere and food, highly recommend going here. The dishes were very fulfilling and flavorful but it didn’t leave you feeling heavy and gross. We took the parents here for their birthdays and everyone was happy with this choice. I only wished I lived closer so I could visit this place more often.

Absolutely delish for stumbled-upon-it-in-Jackson. Chicken quesadilla was crisp, tasty, flavorful and filling. Chips and salsa were fresh and above-average. Service was very friendly. Price was great. The art was a highlight. Basically, that’s it ;)

I love the rustic olden time ambiance of this place… right on Main St in the heart of Jackson. I highly recommend going across the street to Train Depot Sweet shop after a really good coffee from Café De Coco… you can’t go wrong with this combination!

The recently-opened Tambien restaurant has a new rival in the region’s «quality Mexican food» department, particularly if your dining experience weighs heavily upon atmosphere. Café de Coco makes me feel like I’m in a streetside café in Spain. That’s a big compliment since I’ve yet to visit Spain. Colorful paintings adorn the walls, high ceilings keep the place cool, and random little wooden chairs and tables give it a cozy, casual feel. A giant kitchen(usually staffed solely by the mother of the owner) only adds to the authenticity. Considering this atmosphere, the meals are merely a compliment: small, simple dishes filled with authentic flavors. Jesse, the owner and host, is always outgoing and friendly. Just as I’d imagine you would in a European café, you instantly feel right at home.
