Man, when I visit Jackson, I can never get over how SUPERNICE people are. Even in just the small chit chats I have with people behind a register, it’s 1000X nicer and more polite than folks in South Florida. I dig it. The second thing I can’t get over is how amazing the food is. I’m a sucker for baked goods and I came in to grab some treats for the road. After sampling the blondie and the brownie, I went with the blondies. They made it home safe and sound, and the next day they were just as good. They have various baked goods here, and I just wanted to eat them all. It’s not too big, but there are a couple of places to sit and enjoy your treats. As I mentioned, the service is top notch– the young lady that helped me was SONICE. She was smiling, cracked a joke and encoruaged me to take samples to decide what to get. I live with the regret of not getting a cake pop or three. Next time!

This was our first time going to Campbell’s Bakery and since it is National Cookie Day and we were in the Fondren area we thought«let’s have cookies». As soon as we walked into the bakery we were greeted by the man behind the counter and he was wearing a huge smile. I love being greeted this way :). We ordered two chocolate chip cookies, one snicker doodle and a caramel cupcake for our grandson. I was so looking forward to enjoying our cookies. The snicker doodle and the chocolate chip were not good, they were just ok at best. Our grandson seemed to enjoy his cupcake. Before starting my review I read all the other reviews and now wished we had ordered tea cakes or their lemon bars. We may be back to give them a second try, especially, since they greet their customers so well.

Campbell’s Bakery is the real deal. It seems too good to be true! The people who work there are experts at baking and truly want to provide us with the best quality sweets imaginable. I haven’t had anything bad here before! They even sell bags of broken tea cakes at a reduced price… as if there’s anything wrong with them! This is your best choice for anything sweet!

Enjoyed the free cookie and petit fours. Cute space with lots of options. Even gluten-free choices. Would definitely go back.

Get a free tea cookie if it’s your first time there. Got hooked at first bite and had to buy a couple more! Get these!

Free tea cookie for first-time visitors, which had a delicious almond flavor and not too sweet. The strawberry chess square was also very tasty, but a little sweeter. I’m excited to dig into the original chess square later. Will definitely visit again.

Located in the heart of Fondren, Campbell’s is a fun locally owned Bakery. I have enjoyed everything I have ever had. One word of caution… this place can be addictive. A great place to bring kids.

I recently tasted several baked goods from Campbell’s Bakery when my mom bought an iced, tea cake, a chess square, and a caramel brownie. I thought they were all very good. I’ve known Mitchell Moore, the proprietor, for many years, he’s the new owner of Campbell’s Bakery. Previous owners had given Campbell’s a bad rep, but all that’s gone, so try it out! I have been to Campbell’s twice in the past two weeks, since having sampled the goodies my Mom brought for us to share. I have tried a choclate cake with buttercream icing, a lemon cupcake with lemon buttercream icing, an iced tea cake, a couple of petit fors, a chess square, and a caramel brownie. I have enjoyed everything that I have tried so far. The tea cakes melt in your mouth, and I don’t know what they do with the petit fors, but the cake is really moist, as if the icing were poured on when the cake was hot. It almost has the texture of dulce de leche and I like that. I have tried both the chocolate and lemon cupcakes. The cakes on both were amazing! Moist, flavorful… I like the buttercream icing, but think it needs just a little bit more flavor. However, the icing is NOT overly sweet which is wonderful. It compliments the cake overall without making your teeth hurt, but it seems to be missing a little something, but I can’t put my finger on it. I think I would like some more lemon in the lemon buttercream. I tried the caramel brownie and the one I tasted was excellent. The caramel was slightly salty and the chess square was delicious. Mitchell has done a lot to clean up Campbell’s bakery, it is a bright happy place to walk into and the bakery seems to be a work in progress. I love sweets. Pastries in particular. But I don’t like them to be so sweet they make my teeth hurt and Campbell’s nails that. Their cupcakes don’t have three inches of icing on them so I give Campbell’s four stars! YUM!

I’ve been getting cakes here for the last ten years and while I haven’t had a cake from the new owners yet, every thing else I have tried has been outstanding. Unfortunately, I make it a bad habit to eat a few too many sweets and baked goods, so I end up at our local bakeries a good bit more than I should. So far, everything I have had from them has been top notch. The prices are on par, if not a bit lower, with the other bakeries in town and the quality is every bit as good. I have to give them credit for really trying to branch out and make their goods stand out from what we have seen in the area for a while(macaroons anyone!?).

I’m just not a huge fan of Campbell’s Bakery. I’ve given them several opportunities to make me a believer and they have come up short on all occasions. I’m a huge sweet eater(so I’d had my fair share of good desserts from bakeries all over the country) and this place just doesn’t do it for me. Even their chocolate cupcakes were lackluster. I will admit their tea cake cookies are delicious, but I probably won’t be going there anytime soon!

One word — FABULOUS!!! Homemade cookies from scratch… the best blondies ever!!! I am SO proud of this place coming in and helping The Fondren back to life! Friendly atmosphere, great place to just hang out and relax…

I guess I need to try them again — third time’s a charm, right? If I could JUST rate their lemon squares — I’d give them 4 stars. It was delicious — not too sweet and not too sour. The chocolate cupcakes and what I think was a caramel bar(not sure) were both so-so.
