Jackson Hole Express Lube & Carwash

Just got my oil changed here this afternoon and was completely ripped off. I never write reviews for places but I felt like I needed to about this one. I’m a young woman and I feel like I was completely taken advantage of due to my age and gender. An oil change that normally costs me $ 40 at my local express oil change just cost me $ 98 here. When I voiced my concern about the issue I was made to feel like an idiot. I will never go to this place again.

Oil change @ Express Lube: $ 97.97 (synthetic oil).
Oil change @ my dealer: $ 46 and change (synthetic oil).
I think that says it all.
I couldn’t make it to my dealer in Idaho Falls, so I thought I’d try this place. They’ll never rip me off again.

I needed a headlight bulb change for our Subaru, and it took about 25 minutes. They topped off my oil, and the whole thing only cost $ 16!

They did the job, and greased underbelly. Put an oil filter much smaller than the proper size, so much so that I had to buy a new filter wrench, I guess the Jeep 4.0 engine is now a rare size. Since the correct size wrench I owned was to large for whatever they squeezed on this. If you install a filter that’s not the correct size, I think you should advise the payer.
Can anyone tell me why they tighten the filter to wrench requiring levels? That’s not following basic directions on the box of going ¾ turn past contact. Correct tightness should be able to be removed by hand alone. (not these guys fault as most places do that)
Finally found a place that takes used oil so this was my only ‘purchased’ oil change I’ve had in 12 years, but Jackson Hole price of $ 101 for synthetic with a garbage, wrong sized paper filter is truly sad. It’s probably what they have to do the pay the JH real estate prices, but 1.5 hours away in Idaho the price drops to $ 50.

I give this wash rating two stars as I have been using it for two years and if your car is already pretty clean, it works OK. If your car is actually dirty though, this wash will leave it that way. It definitely isn’t worth the «ultimate» wash. Just use the cheapest one when you need to wash off the dust. *for what it’s worth* there aren’t any good washes in Jackson that I have found will clean a truly dirty car.

Go to these hacks at your own risk! I had used them for years when I took my wife’s car in to get it serviced. The punk changing the oil remembered me from a previous job, apparently we didn’t get along well. The car was well maintained with no leaks. When the car was done Mr Punk came out to confirm who I was and to tell me «Enjoy your leaking power steering.» Sure enough we had a new leak that by the time we where home had wiped out the power steering and all related systems, $ 2700.00 total. The mechanic at the dealership showed me the hose with a perfect hole made by a philips head screw driver. This is all water under the bridge but long story short USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!

I dread having my car serviced for a few reasons.
1.) It’s the last thing I want to spend money on. (Although a fact of life.)
2.) I am absolutely clueless about cars and I’m fearful of them jumping on the opportunity to get me to spend more money than I need to.
I’ve taken my vehicle here the last few times it’s needed service and I’ve had nothing but good experience from the actual people servicing my car, to anyone in the office. I’ve brought my 25 lb Boston Terrier with me too with no problems. I don’t have the fear factor of being taken advantage of. They’ll tell you when other work needs done, but aren’t pushy.

I came here when my check engine light was on and I also needed my oil changed. They found things that needed to be brought to my attention. They were kind, fast and no bullshit. I like that. I definitely recommend this place and I will go back!

Got the best service here! Took in two cars and was so grateful for the wonderful service provided. The negative comments on here are so far from reality. I thought the owners wife was lovely and we really appreciated the time she took to answer all our questions. Keep up the great work, we’ll be back often.

No high pressure.
You definitely need to use the brushes they give you for your windows and for the bugs on the front of your car. There’s more pressure coming from a garden hose then this automatic drip wash.
Only good thing is it got my super dirty car half clean and it has an 80 second dryer.

Worst customer service I have EVER received. EVER. The owner was very condescending. She actually said to me «I give you permission to move on and not hold onto your anger» over their lack of ability to resolve the issue. Don’t worry, I’ll be moving on to another business that appreciates the value of good customer service.

Our company has a few service trucks and to help my husband out I was having the oil changed at express lube. Maybe one out of 3 times we got good service. HINT: if the loud mouthed blonde chick is at the counter — walk away. I think she’s married to the son that took over this place. Either way she’s OB-​NOX-​IOUS! Shorter haired girl is FABULOUS!
Anyway. They always forget to reset the oil light. More than once they didn’t tighten the oil plug so I had puddles of oil on my driveway and they’re incredibly overpriced. $ 115 for an FOL? Really?
Today I walked out after waiting for Loud-​Mouth to discuss everything under the sun with the lady in front of me from her book to her car wash options to even making a phone call for this woman. I seriously got sick of waiting and I couldn’t be happier to be taking our business elsewhere.
They really need to keep this woman away from their shop. She loses more business than she keeps.
