Jimmy’s Family Restaurant

I have been to this restaurant a few times before, but this time it was for my birthday party. They promised that I could have a free bottle of wine in their e-​mail to me, and when I complained that I had not got it, my complaint was ignored. I asked to speak to the manager, again although I showed the e-​mail, he refused to give me the bottle, or even give me one of the other drinks that I had consumed on the house. When I complained to their office… other than acknowledge the e-​mail, I had no response. I wrote five times, and spoke to three different people to no avail. I think that there are other restaurants that deserve my custom and look after their customer much better.

Had the chicken dumpling soup and club sandwich. Food was average and service was awful! Not much to say about this place. Kind of underwhelming.

This is my new favorite spot in Wisconsin! The food here is great and so is the service! I will definitely be coming back for Greek night!

Jimmys is a great place to eat reasonably prices good portions well prepared Staff are great and the fish fry is one of the best around would recommend it to anyone

This morning before church we called to make reservations for 12 and after church we called back to let them know we had an additional 6 people coming for breakfast. Without hesitation they made a table big enough for all of us to come and enjoy a morning together. The waitress was extremely friendly and attentive to our needs. The food came out at the same time and no one had a cold plate. The food was fabulous and delicious. Overall, I give this a five start visit!

Great food at great prices. You should not go expecting a 5 star restaurant but the food is very good, the staff friendly and attentive and the price right. The ribs are very good, the Ruben excellent and the Mexican night is not to be missed as all items are very simple and well made. Kosta and Jimmy and the entire staff make you feel as if you’re a regular even if you haven’t been in Ina while. Also the entire menu can be take out and quickly for nights you don’t want to cook. Definitely a place to stop and return to.

It’s simple good food. Super friendly staff, excellent service and cozy atmosphere. Always feel welcome and taken care of.

Ordered BBQ rib dinners for 2 with bread basket included which was one small cold piece of bread and a bunch of saltine crackers. I did return one more time at 6 AM on a Sunday morning and had the Hangover burger. It may have been ok but I can’t say for sure. I was very drunk.

You wouldn’t really expect to find such a great little restaurant in the small town of Jackson off of the highway, but I have to say, the service and food was pretty awesome! Really no complaints of anything with this restaurant other than the annoying door alarm that goes off whenever the door opens.

I only have been there once and felt super ripped off. I ordered the «full» rack of ribs for $ 18.99. Every full rack of ribs I’ve ever gotten anywhere usually does not fit on the plate completely. The ribs I received were about the size of a tv remote control. They were about 3″ wide by 8″ long. I asked the waitress if this was the «full» rack and she said absolutely. Needless to say I was pretty pissed off. My speculation is that they may have only had what I was served left and were trying to pass it off as a full rack. If that’s how you treat your customers by trying to deceive them, then no thank you for me. They will never see me step foot in their door again. There is too many other restaurants out there that care enough to give the customer a good experience. This was definitely not one of them.

Stopped here for lunch while driving back home from a trip. Wanted to try something from a smaller town than just fast food. Food was descent, service was horrible. Maybe they saw we were from Illinois, or we were not from around there, I don’t know. Took forever for our waitress to come by, then the manager was going around asking people «how’s your food?» and when people were leaving, «Thanks for stopping by, we hope to see you again soon.» He did this to almost everyone but us. Was very disappointing. He said that to the person in front and behind us. I don’t live around there at all, but if I ever drive by, I will not stop.

Now this is a great place!!!
In a small town, there should always be that place you go when you just want a good meal, a cozy atmosphere and decent service. Jimmy’s is that place. We went about noon a few days ago and while we hoped to go earlier for breakfast, we were not disappointed in the lunch selections and food.
The food here looks and tastes homemade, and while it was apparent that it was not 100% fresh ingredients, the care in cooking made even the non-​fresh ingredients wonderful. We had an appetizer (breaded mushrooms). They appeared to be canned mushrooms and they looked freshly battered, but the batter consistency was almost too perfect, so it made us wonder. The taste was excellent and set the tone for our meal.
Since it was lunch, I ordered a chipotle cheeseburger and my girlfriend had some of their wings. The wings were baked and not fried, fresh, large and done superbly. Being baked, there were some areas not completely sauced and a bit more sauce over the top after cooking or on the side would have made them perfect. My burger was made fresh and cooked to a PERFECT medium rare and when I say perfect, I mean it. I have not had a burger cooked right at a restaurant in a LONG time, so this made my day. The flavors of the roasted peppers and chipotle seasoning was also done PERFECT and added to the overall dish rather than distracting from it.
Our only question was that the menu stated breakfast was only served until 11AM and since we were after that time, we ordered lunch, but we saw other getting breakfast items. On our next visit, we will ask if it is served all day, but I am assuming that in a small town, you take care of your people. The gentleman who greeted and seated us was outstanding in his service and attention to the restaurant and our server was pleasant, accommodating and just the right amount of conversation (all about meal and no chit-​chat), to make us feel welcome and not intruded upon!

Jimmy’s is not your average family restaurant. The quality of the food is way above average for this genre of eatery. Prices are a bit high, but the food is worth every penny. There are some Greek selections that are fantastic. They also make the best Bloody Mary’s around. Try the Greek Bloody Mary. The garnish on it is nearly a meal, including a giant chunk of feta cheese, and even a slice of Gyros meat. The Greek salad with grilled chicken is my personal favorite, albeit expensive. So worth it though!

Awesome food. I have eaten here twice and had the fish fry and french dip sandwich. Both were fantastic and the service was fabulous!

They do a nice job. Sweet waitresses but sometimes they could be a little more attentive ie., take away the dirty dishes and empty glasses, come out to the patio and collect my payment, I’m you’re only customer right now.

I certainly don’t see the 5 stars here. It’s an ok café to have breakfast at, but the dinner I had was just fair. Frozen fish out of a bag fried. Nothing special. If you are a foodie, give it a pass. If you are a «average family restaurant» fan, this is just like most of them.
I’d write more, but not really worth writing much more about.

Eat here at least once every couple of weeks. They do a great job and it is great having a local option like Jimmy’s. Love the good and the people are great!

Small town family dining at its best. Wonderful homemade Italian dishes are just one part of a great menu. We moved to Jackson two years ago. The owner is friendly and attentive. Just a nice neighborhood place.

My fiancé and I were staying at the hotel about a mile away. We were pleased with every aspect of this place. The setting was really nice for being a family diner. Prompt service from the second we walked in the door until we left. The food was great and very affordable.

I was traveling to Milwaukee and I saw advertisement’s for this restaurant off of the US-​49 exit freeway sign. I thought it was lunch time so lets try a new restaurant! I ordered the chicken salad sandwich. The sand which came with coleslaw, pickle spare and french fries. The price was $ 6.50. Lettuce and tomatoes was $ 1.00 extra. The wait staff was prompt and friendly. Jackson is a small town, but I attended this Restaurant on the 4^th of July and by the end of my meal, there was almost not an empty table in the restaurant!
