Mississippi Coliseum

If I was giving a review for Disney on Ice only, then this would easily be a 5 Star review. Disney put on a great show and our grandson, his daycare classmates, my husband and I really enjoyed their performance. Two BIG THUMBS UP! However, this review will only get 2 stars and that’s because of Disney on Ice. The Coliseum needs to work on traffic control, there was no one directing traffic into the coliseum or out of the coliseum after the show. It was a nightmare! After we finally parked and went inside we had a hard time finding anyone to direct us to our seats and when we did get directions, we found that the rows were poorly marked. Y’all need to get some pointers from whom ever put together Disney on Ice’s production because they were well organized.

First-​Hand Experience: I saw a concert here maybe 5 years ago, and then visited again (for the sake of memories) when I was on tour here most recently in 2012. It’s not the best indoor venue I’ve ever been to, but it’s right up there.
This 6,000 seat Coliseum sits atop an extinct volcano! Not even kidding. When I heard this, I had to come and visit, but it wasn’t anything too incredibly special. It is a nice place, and can be expanded to 10k for concerts.
It once hosted amateur Ice Hockey, and every year the State Fair is here as well as the largest rodeo east of the Mississippi in the Spring.
By the way if you’re in Jackson for any reason, try Peaches for Smothered Pork Chops, and try Stamp’s Superburger for a burger. Trust me.
