New King Buffet

This place was disgusting, servers had attitudes, overpriced and it was ants in the bathroom, worst place i ever been to!!!

WORST PLACE TO EAT IN MISSISSIPPI! Only reason why I tried this place is because they had AYCE crab legs. Got there at 8:30, they close at 10, but had already stopped refilling the food. Everything was out or dried up from being out too long. I had to ask them to make crab legs 3 time’s, after the 3^rd time they said «No more.» This was hardly AYCE, they never gave me a cracker for the crabs. Gave us the bill after us just being there for 15 mins. The waiter kept coming by to ask us how we were going to pay for the dinner, basically politely telling us to leave so they can go home. At around 9:15 they started putting everything away. After I paid the waitress stood there at my table waiting for me to sign her tip. First time ever that I decided these people didn’t deserve a tip. NEVER AGAIN.

This place is okay for the price. I think the best thing they have is the sushi bar. Everything else is okay. Not bad, just okay.

The food was good. Has a lot of variety. It was fresh and hot. The server sucked. The restaurant was nice on the inside. Comfy chairs. I would come Back again.

The only thing that was ok at this restaurant was the crawfish. The service suck, and the food suck. It’s not worth $ 9.65, and this was the morning buffet. :-/​the three stars was for the crawfish only. I’m not saying that their crawfish is good everyday, but on this day it was ok. (sorry for the mistake, they do accept credit cards).

So disappointed. This used to be one of my favorite places. Over the past few years the quality of food has gone out the window. Everything seemed old and dry. Like, really really old. The only thing really edible were the peel and eat shrimp. The bathrooms are filthy with standing water on the floor. For $ 20 a head on a Friday night i feel completely taken advantage of. I’m not sure how this place stays in business. Not at all what it used to be.

Prices vary depending on the time of the day. I have paid under $ 8 for to-​go box each time I’ve been there. There aren’t lots of food choices and the foods are not well labeled. But I still load my box so full it last for two meals.

No. Just no. It is very rare I give a business 1 star, but New King Buffet definitely deserves it. This is quite possibly the worst Chinese food I have ever had in my entire life.
Everything … and I do mean everything … on the buffet looked like it had been sitting out for hours. Everything we tried either tasted bad or had no taste at all. It was just horrible!
They also have these off-​putting signs everywhere about charging you extra if you leave food on your plate. The food was so bad, there was a ton left on my plate and on hubby’s plate. I literally sat there worrying whether they were going to charge me extra because I didn’t finish all my food. Isn’t that a great thing to be worrying about while you’re attempting to have a meal? I felt like a child being scolded. Thankfully they didn’t attempt to charge us extra because, believe you me, I would have raised some hell up in that place! My Mississippi Redneck Girl would have come out with a vengeance!
Service was blah. She brought our drinks. She refilled our drinks once. She brought the check. Other than speaking to take our drink orders, she never acknowledged us again or smiled.
Also, there was this announcement that came over the loudspeakers about every 3 – 4 minutes saying you would be charged extra if you got crab legs from the buffet. That was really weird and annoying. As if we couldn’t read the neon signs everywhere saying the same thing.
No. Just no. Do not go here!

Some food was not fresh. Overall, the food did not have a great flavor. It all tasted the same. Lots of items. Low quality.

Service: they should not pay servers cause they don’t do much. Waited 20 mins for water.
Food: while there is a large variety, the quality was less than poor. The food was old dried out and in small amounts. Came especially for the oysters and they never refilled the raw ones or put out the bake oysters the advertise.
Price: $ 9.99 for all above 10 with out drink. Definitely not worth it for the poor quality of food. Left HUNGRY !!!

While there was a large selection of food, it was all rather bland or just tasted bad. The teriyaki chicken was burnt, and the sesame chicken sauce tasted pretty stale. There was some food that appeared to have been sitting out for most of the day, and I got the impression they weren’t going to replace it until the pan was emptied. The general tso’s chicken was just regular chicken tenders (with no sauce), not the usual general tso’s chicken you see at other chinese restaurants.
The staff was friendly and service was good. However, the food just wasn’t up to par.
Also, they have implemented a new policy where they will charge you an additional fee if they believe you are wasting food. They have this policy on a big neon pink poster by the front door, and it’s plastered all over the sneeze guards.
ETA: They do have a sushi bar, but neither myself or my wife ate from the sushi bar.
I rated this place as not being good for kids, because they have a policy that requires all children under 10 be escorted at all times. This policy is posted on the green poster board near the entrance.

Food: A fairly broad selection. All the classics, including some great sesame chicken. They also have very small out of season boiled crawfish, fried chicken in 6 varieties, pizza, and snow crab legs. They also have a pretty awesome sushi bar, which is pretty much the buffet’s saving grace.
Service: Forget about it.
Atmosphere: See «Service».
Price: Not too bad. $ 9.50 or so without drinks or tip.
