OYE: Wine Time at the Fairview Inn!

The event was my first Unilocal event. And boy oh boy it was great. I met all kinds of people, enjoyed the wine and complimentary cheese board, along with good olé fashioned competition for goodies. I plan to attend many more in the future. You can’t beat this deal: fun and free!

This event was a breathe of fresh air. 1908 is something completely different that the Jackson area needed. I walked in and instantly knew I had to become a regular here.
The event itself was fantastic. The selected wines were great and the cheese plates that accompanied the wines were divine. 1908 is a little nicer than your normal bar in Jackson but is definitely worth checking out.
I hope Unilocal can continue these kind of events and expose more young professionals to new spots in Jackson like 1908.

Had a blast at this event! I enjoyed trying several different wines and the cheese pairings were amazing. I liked getting to spend the whole evening with one table getting to know them. And the free swag is always a plus. Thanks 1908 and Unilocal for putting this on!

1908 was set up beautifully, and the cheese plate had some real standouts (looking at you, bleu cheese). Everyone there was fun, and we enjoyed connecting with the folks at our table.
The wines were tasty (and plentiful), but I would have enjoyed a bit more guidance from someone at 1908 about what we were tasting, notes we should be looking for, that sort of thing.
It was a really fun time for us and reinforced what a great community Jackson is.

As all of the reviews so far have said, this was a great event! I had never been to 1908 before this event. I walked in, and was instantly struck by the space. The décor was subtle but beautiful, the bar was extensively stocked, and room was out of something you would picture at a high end restaurant in New York City.
The event itself was fabulous. Rachel was a gracious host and I enjoyed meeting her and all of the other Unilocalers. The wine list was extensive and I was thrilled about trying so many white wines (which I am partially inclined towards). We played a few games, which were the perfect ice breakers to help us get loosened up before the wine set in, ha!
I can honestly say I throughly enjoyed myself at this event and was very impressed by 1908 and the Fairview Inn. I will most definitely be returning, and I can not wait until the next Unilocal event!

Wine Time at the Fairview Inn was such a fancy event! The ambiance was perfect. Loved how the table settings showcased the variety of wines, with the names of the flights listed on each table. The Charcuterie Cheese plate was heaven! the White Bean Hummus and the Shrimp Ceviche were great options for the small plate menu. I also enjoyed learning more about the historic establishment, did you know there are only 18 rooms here ?!?
And I genuinely appreciate seeing fellow Unilocalers as well as meeting new Unilocalers in the Jackson area.

Everything at this event was 100% perfect. 1908 Provisions is a beautiful place, and everything was set up so lovely for Unilocalers to wine and dine. The staff was knowledgable and courteous, and the chef knew. his. stuff. I will be visiting 1908 Provisions in the future. Trivia time was my favorite, mostly because my awesome team (Watch Me Whip, Watch Me Chardonnay-​nay) won! Bingo was a great ice breaker, and let us meet other Unilocalers in the Jackson Metro. I love Unilocal Events, and this was a definite success.

At long last, I finally got to attend my first Unilocal event! I’ve dined at 1908 in the past, but did not have the chance to explore their delightful wine selections until now. The event was very well organized and had a nice flow to it. There was a great selection of wines at each table, and the cheese plate offered to us paired beautifully. We also had the option to order other small plates.
There was also the chance to interact with other Unilocalers at different tables via BINGO, which I really enjoyed. In fact, I ended up meeting a few people whose reviews I’ve perused before! Later, we also played Trivia with each table as a team. I had a fun time reconnecting with familiar faces AND meeting new people at my table!
Overall, the ambiance at 1908 Provisions was just perfect for this event. The entire staff was courteous and made us feel welcome. It was neat learning facts and history about the establishment. Rachel did a fantastic job putting everything together. I’m really looking forward to visiting the Library Lounge and 1908 more often in the future!

This event was absolutely lovely! When I entered everything was set up on time beautifully. It was both my first Unilocal event and my first time at the Fairview Inn. The wine had been already poured, and it was waaaaaay more than typical wine tasting pours. We were also given a cheese plate which paired nicely. I also ordered the Flatbread and was glad to have a couple of vegetarian options on the menu. The Flatbread was so good. It was pesto based with goat cheese. I definitely want to go back to try more food.
I have to also mention how nice the staff were. The servers were great. When one of them noticed my vegetarian choice he inquired about if I was vegetarian and told me about other offerings on the dinner menu. I appreciate that kind of attention. We got goodie bags from both Unilocal and the restaurant. It was truly a fantastic event, and I look forward to exploring more of the city via Unilocal.Oh! One more thing. A couple of my table mates were cheap tippers. Get it together people. It was a nice event with three full glasses of wine. If you think I’m talking about you, I am.
