Yep, this bowling alley is definitely old and has definitely seen better days. I remember coming here as a kid with my parents and let me tell ya, that was a LONG time ago! But, it’s still a really great place to bowl a few games. You’ll have to give them a call to get the rates, but there’s a couple of nights a week when they have really good deals. One night of the week they have $ 1 games. They also have an unlimited bowling session on either Friday or Saturday night. The owner is really nice. He’s had this alley for quite some time now. They also do league bowling here on certain nights, so again, call to find out b/c if you happen to come on one of those nights, there’s a good chance you won’t get a lane. Even though the bowling alley is older, they have really good lanes. I tend to bowl higher scores here than at other bowling alleys. My parents who have bowled on leagues my entire life even tell me they tend to get higher scores on the lanes here. It’s located in a not so great area of town, but I feel pretty safe(even at night), because one of the main Jackson Police Departments is located right next door. They basically share the same parking lot. If it weren’t for that fact, I wouldn’t feel all too safe in this part of town, even during the day. I’m giving this bowling alley 4 stars because when visiting family in the Jackson, MS area, this is the alley I prefer. It may be older and look a bit run down, but they keep their lanes taken care of, they have great rates, and the owner and employees are super nice. Even though Fannin Lanes out in Flowood is much nicer looking… it’s all new and sparkly and pretty… the people who work there are jerks and the rates they charge are astronomical. No thank you! Also, I give kudos to the pro shop they have here. They do not have as much to choose from as the pro shop at Fannin, but if they do not have it in stock, they can order it for you. I purchased a new ball online and this is where I brought it to have the holes drilled, They charged me only $ 20 to drill the holes which was half the cost they charge at Fannin. The guy(I forget his name) who drilled the holes for me was very nice and professional. He definitely knew what he was doing. He had the process done in only about 10 minutes. About a week later, I noticed the thumb hole needed opening up just a tad more and he was more than happy to do it for me. They do sell concessions here such as nachos and fountains drinks. But I’ve never purchased any of the food. I just wanted you to be aware it is offered. I wish I could speak more about the food items offered, but I’ve never really paid all that much attention. If you’re looking to have some fun bowling, give Paradise a shot!

It pains me to give paradise lanes two stars but this bowling alley has seen far better days. Before it was turned into a bowling alley it use to be a skating ring, which I went to a couple of times when I was younger. But too many problems out there shut it down, so lo and behold a bowling alley was created in it’s place. Way back when, when Paradise still had some shine to it, I even had my first bowling ball drilled out there. But going back today after so many years… it looked like an abandoned shed… It just has so much potential to shine in that neighborhood, but the outside is rusted, and there’s no shiny sign on the building… If you didn’t know it was there, you would drive right by and never look back. The inside is even sadder than the outside, with worn carpet, floors, and furniture that definitely needs to be replaced. Hell even the pepsi drink machine was sad… there wasn’t any pepsi inside or the buttons with missing signs were the pepsi either way… the most up to date items in the building were the flat screen tvs… Anyway as we were the only people in the building bowling, we still had a good time. My sister beat my dad 179 to 172 but he massacred us with a 204 the next game… We all have our own balls and shoes so that’s a plus for us… except the lanes and equipment were rough on our balls and they came back with a few cuts and scrapes on them, but that could happen anywhere. Going to paradise lanes wasn’t awful but such a sad state of another hangout from my past is heartbreaking… Paradise looks like it’s 10-minutes from shutting down, but hopefully it’ll keep kicking a bit longer… And if we go bowling again when I’m in town the appeal of no screaming kids beside me when I’m trying to bowl is a huge plus that’ll make me go back… but hopefully they’ll atleast paint the outside…

I used to come here to bowl a lot when I was on the bowling team at my high school. Yeah, the place is old and looks a bit outdated, but what bowling alley doesn’t? The lanes are smooth and I’ve scored a lot of strikes and spares here. I also shared a lot of good good memories here battling other high school bowling teams. Yeah the restrooms are nasty and small, but they are restrooms. They also have another side for strictly arcade games and I think you win tickets to buy little knick knacks with. The staff is ok, and when I used to go the shoes/ball were free because of course I think our coach paid for it. I miss this alley, and hopefully when I return I might have a reunion here with my bowling mates. Also, I had an senior event here with my senior class and the neon lights were going. Nice enjoyable place!
