I’ve been in this place dozens of times and always found the service excellent, and plenty of bargains. Not liking to waste time in shoe stores, I really appreciate it when a clerk can zoom in on exactly what they have in stock that I’m seeking. The last time I was in there, which was last weekend, I was in a hurry and within 5 minutes the clerk had located and completed transactions on the very things I was looking for. She ROCKED, and I rolled, a lot sooner than expected, for which I was very grateful. Ignore the review of someone who obviously wasn’t in a good mood and just«vanted to be alone», apparently. I would certainly have accommodated that desire. Imagine whining about too much help, and in a shoe store… really now.

I was passing through town on Government business and made the HUGE mistake of going in this store. I left a piece of luggage behind when I left, the luggage which contained all my shoes. The hotel suggested the nearby Payless. I went in the store with the intention of buying at least 6 — 7 pairs of shoes. I needed dress shoes, casual shoes, exercise shoes, and flip-flops. Knowing myself, I’m sure I would have bought accessories(purses, jewelry). I had already found 2 pair of dress shoes. Tried the one pair one — decided I was going to buy them and was ready to try on the other pair I wanted to buy. The girl who worked there bombarded me with information the minute I walked in. We have this sale, this deal, these stickers, these prices, blah, blah, blah. I thanked her and went over to my size of shoes. She immediately ran over to me(the only customer in the store) and started — I will say — harassing me with pushy sales. Being tired from my flight and my lengthy drive to the hotel, I just wanted to buy my shoes and go get some dinner and go to sleep. I told the girl — I have a pet peeve towards power sales. If you insist on power selling something to me, I’m going to leave. If you leave me alone — I will shop. So what is it going to be? So she started power pushing more sales and shoes — as if I said nothing. I said, it looks as though you want me to leave b/c you aren’t going to let me shop — you are still power selling — do you want me to leave? She stopped(finally), looked at me, and nodded her head in the affirmative. I was shocked! I left, and as I was leaving I told her — big mistake. I was here to buy a lot of shoes. I have NEVER been treated this way. Especially in a Payless shoe store. I should stick to Nordstrom. Thankfully the hotel told me about some nearby outlet stores. I bought many nice, name brand shoes for about the same price I would have spent in that horrible Payless. Only at the outlet stores, I was treated kindly and with respect.
