Shervin’s Independent Oil & Automotive Center

I have used Shervins for 4 years. Probably spent over 10 k with them on tires, brakes, suspension etc. they do excellent work, no BS with them. If I want to bring my own parts in to put on, they are fine with that. You can find a little cheaper place in town, but you will get what you pay for. Try going to the clowns at the Chevy or Subaru dealers if you want a taste of dishonesty.
I like the 2 bad reviews: fuel pump ripoff, and guy who had his mechanic 100% certify his truck was fine and then blame Shervins for his differential being out of oil. Get a life and quit blaming these people for your cars having problems.

Busted a tire on a rock in Alpine and brought the car here on a recommendation. Not sure what the bad reviews are for. Levi bent over backwards two get me back on the road quickly as I had to drive back to Denver for a flight on Sunday. Great company and highly recommended.

Service needed on the car. They were polite and easy to work with. Replaced electrical parts and fixed shorts. Cost was reasonable, not cheap, but not excessive. 3 Stars job done as expected.
March of 2015
(Friends borrowed car…). Car stopped running, suspected the fuel pump. They diagnosed for $ 95 (Excessive to say the least) that it was, then wanted nearly $ 700 to do the repair. That’s unreasonably expensive. It’s a 30 minute job at most, with a replacement part that costs around $ 70. I have no issue paying fair rates for labor, but this is most definitely not a 5 hour job. I opted to take car home. Once home, put gas in the car, and its run fine ever since. All I can say to this, is this company or at least the employee, deliberately tried to swindle us out of $ 800+. Be VERY warry and get a second opinion before turning your keys over!
Really blows me away given the original experience a year earlier.

I was in a time of need with a flat tire and Levi at Shervin’s literally came to my rescue. He went absolutely above and beyond in customer service and helped me just minutes after I called. Shervin’s has gained a loyal and very appreciative customer. Thank you Levi.

After driving from Wisconsin to Wyoming a few weeks ago, I decided to take my truck to Shervin’s Independent Oil to get an oil change. I walked in and was very impressed by the detail the gentleman at the front counter went into in regards to what would be included in the service. I felt confident in handing the keys over to him and was pleased when I returned to find that everything had gone fine. He informed me that they had checked the belts, hoses, grease fittings, rear dif, washer fluid, oil, etc. I wasn’t surprised that everything was fine, because I had a certified mechanic inspect everything 100% before I came back to Wyoming. I paid the excessive 65 dollars for the oil change and went on my way. (I figured, you get what you pay for right?) A few days later, the truck started making noises, and wasn’t running to its full potential. I was concerned because I hadn’t had any issues like this in the past. I immediately went back to Shervin’s where Scott the owner was more than happy to drive the truck and take a look at it for me. He informed me that it may just be a loose fitting on the belt or alternator, but he would have to take a closer look. Unfortunately, he didn’t have anything available for a few days. So I contacted a few friends and found a respected shop just down the road. After looking at the truck, Leroy from 5959 informed me that I needed to speak with who ever had serviced the truck last. He told me that there was no rear differential fluid in the truck. He explained that the gears and bearings had been ruined and that it was going to be about 1700 dollars to replace.
I immediately went back to Sherman’s to find out what had happened. Before raising a stink over everything, I asked the gentleman at the front counter what was included. He explained to me what they do for a routine oil change, and mentioned the rear differential. I then proceeded to explain to him what had happened with my truck and asked him how this was possible. He got extremely defensive and explained to me that it was not his responsibility to check the fluids, and that he was sorry my car was ruined. He then explained that sometimes his guys get «lazy» but he can’t do anything about that. I asked him if he would take on any of the cost to get it repaired and he laughed in my face. After paying 65 dollars, I expected for something this simple to be covered in the routine oil change.
I called the owner Scott to speak with him, and he didn’t have much to say, other than «it ain’t my problem.»
